Can your God defend himself continued

23About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way. 24A silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought in no little business for the craftsmen. 25He called them together, along with the workmen in related trades, and said: "Men, you know we receive a good income from this business. 26And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that man-made gods are no gods at all. 27There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited, and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty."

What an odd phrase this poor guy Demetrius was worried his God would be robbed of her divine majesty. Yes I understand that in effect if people turned away form her she would loose some majesty. But Truth is truth if She is God(has divine majesty) then if no one believes in her she is still God.

A few months ago a lot of my Christian freinds were all in an uproar over the movie the Davinci Code. For two thousand years man backed by Satan have tried to kill Jesus and to no avail.

I also have to wonder how much of his fear was for his god or hismself? Often we as Christians are just like poor old Demetrius and don't want people to think we are silly when we talk about God. We worry about ourselfs and keep silent.

    Perfect timinng

15Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! 16Use your shepherd's staff--hold it out over the water, and a path will open up before you through the sea. Then all the people of Israel will walk through on dry ground. 17Yet I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they will follow the Israelites into the sea. Then I will receive great glory at the expense of Pharaoh and his armies, chariots, and charioteers. 18When I am finished with Pharaoh and his army, all Egypt will know that I am the LORD!"

The Red Sea, the walls of Jerico God has perfect timing. I need to wait for his timing and like Moses and the children of Isreal "Get moving"(vs 15). I truly know it is my time to get moving. I can not change the past but I can make sure that my future is what God has in store for me.

We all have what we think is a good plan but we all need to make sure it is God we are going with.

    what a God

hello people. Just to let you know I am doing fine. Many of you have been with me in my travel thru the worst time of my life a divorce. Well I am here to tell you what the bible says is true.

to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
           to comfort all who mourn,

3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
           instead of ashes,
           the oil of gladness
           instead of mourning,
           and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
           a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor

My future in this life is to be an "oak of righteousness". In the last few weeks I have been shown a lot about my past and I truly believe I need to look to the future. God will make the future what He needs it to be if I am faithfull. In the past I was not faithful in all areas and that is what lead me to the "pit of destruction" But he gilves me beauty for ashes. (I love that song) I will be here on a more regular basis in the past I have been depressed and fealing sorry for my self but now thanks to the Lord I am revived.

alive and well  in the Spirit

    Tim
