    Tired of WWJD

Christians can be very good at studying the bible they can sit in on great sermons. They can join life groups, small groups or whatever your church calls them. Then after studying, listening and talking in there small group they still do not look like Jesus. That is what a Christian is supposed to be. They are to be like Christ. I am tired of looking at WWJD on the arm of Christians. We know what Jesus would do because he told us how to look like him what to do.
Matthew 28:16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."[Italics added]
I believe everything we do should be about this making disciples-teaching them everything I (Jesus) have taught us. We DO NOT DO THIS we study what Jesus said.
Look at it this way Say you told your child "go clean there room" and in an hour they came back and said "I have remembered what you said I can even recite it in Greek".
I do not think you have to stand on a street corner shouting the end of the world. Or beating someone over the head with your bible.Try this, everything you do, do it with love, hope and faith. Love others not yourself. Having hope in Christ Jesus in all facets of your life let people see that hope. Treat people how Jesus would treat them. let them see Jesus in you. We need to be Jesus to them.

    Knowledge

Talking to my sisters the other day the statement was made "she is full of useless knowledge". You know the trivial stuff that comes up in conversation, but seems to have not practical use. That made me ask the question is there anything such as useless knowledge? Isn't all knowledge useful? I say Yes. In the sense that a all knifes are useful only if you take them out of the sheath and use them. A gun only when loaded and aimed with accuracy is it of any use other than a paperweight. Knowledge obtained and not used is useless.
Here we get into knowledge vs. wisdom. Wisdom is knowledge with legs, an empty gun vs, a loaded gun. Taking knowledge and using it is the only way to succeed in any endeavor. Yes in some areas natural talent is of use but it all comes back to giving knowledge legs. Successful people I know are driven they do what is needed to succeed. In sports you hear the term "student of the game" athletic players study game film and put what they lean to work the next Sunday. Business men look to see what worked in the past look at trends in stocks to make decisions. But only when the decisions are acted on are they useful to make money.
For many years as a Christian I thought I believe(and I did)so one day God will make me into the Christian I should be. He will make things happen, it will be all good. It did not happen. I have found out that, I yes little old human Tim needed to be part of the equation. I need to be the one to give my faith (the knowledge of Christ dying and rising from the dead to pay my sin debt) legs, load aim and fire. Yes there is a great dynamic work that goes into me working out my faith. Walking can only be done by and through the Holy Spirit. Although this is true God told Abraham Gen 12:1  Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto the land that I will show thee: Abraham had the knowledge that God wanted him to go. Now he had to
    Go.
I know there is much more to this topic I could dissect. for brevity I chose not to. The point I wanted to make was GET UP GET GOING if you want to succeed in anything work, relationships, sports hobbies, loosing weight. Just take what knowledge you have and get moving and along the way continue to gather all the knowledge on the subject you can to further your wisdom and reach the goal you are running for.

    Ugly? Unwanted?

Last night sitting in my room a feeling came over me. I was not sure what it was. I looked at my phone sitting on the nightstand, then at my computer siting on the bed next to me. What was it in me that needed a phone or computer? Then I realized I was lonely. I needed to connect with someone. It was late I could not call anyone. Ah I thought Facebook I can use it to connect,at least I could post something and someone might respond by morning. Fast forward to Sunday morning, sitting at a table drinking a cup of coffee at TVC (my church). Looking at all the people streaming in tall ones, short ones, blonde ones, some with glasses, some without glasses. A kaleidoscope of humanity. Some were(my opinion)beautiful, handsome well dressed some not so good looking but all better looking than me. Yes I will say it I felt ugly and alone, unwanted, unloved.I am sure that I am not the only one who feels like this from time to time.Even some of you who are sitting right next to your spouse or children you still feel alone and unwanted useless. Feeling a little down I wanted to feel sorry for myself poor little Timmy. Although I was down and part of me wanted to stay there and wallow in self pity and self loathing something was drawing me forward.Walking into the auditorium to worship sitting down all by myself thing I hate to go to church alone. The music starts and the Holy spirit goes to work. The song "I am a friend of God" is played. The words "I am a friend of God HE calls ME friend." Who does not want a friend? I need one and want one. Here today in this little church next to Podunk lake I meet with God the one who is my friend even thought I am ugly. I tell all this not for anyone to feel sorry for me (I do not need sympathy I got God)but so the next time you feel like this maybe you will think "I am a friend of God He calls me friend." Now I know why my facebook post this morning said "looking forward to worship"
