    THANKSGIVING FOR GOD'S MERCY

PSALM 103:1-5  --  Bless the Lord, O My soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name.   2. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:  3. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;  4. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;  who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies;   5. Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. KJV

                            Soul Food

I love the taste of T-bone steak,
           Delicious every bite,
But there's nothing like the Word of God,
           For my spiritual appetite.

The Word of God has milk and meat,
And even ice cream and cake.
Take a slice of the Bread of Life,
And coffee to keep us awake.

Open your Bible and turn to Psalms,
           For David's famous buffet.
You can drink all the wine of the word you want,
And still feel fine the next day.

There's enough of the Word for everyone,
And no one has to cheat.
The Word of God is a smorgasbord,
So take all you are able to eat.

Let's have a little long suffering,
           Job gives the recipe.
           Patience is the main ingredient,
           Self denial is the fee.

           Wrap that up in temperance,
It may not make much sense,
           Cover that with contentment,
Then add some joy for strength.

           Let's have love for dessert,
           Jesus made this dish,
Cream of joy and peace together,
           Sift out all selfishness.

           Add some deeds of righteousness,
           Enough to make it sweet.
           Humility is the frosting,
           That makes the dish complete.

Or are you on a diet,
Cause the race seems hard to run.
           For a weight losing menu,
           Try Hebrews 12 and 1.

           Are you suffering from malnutrition,
And don't know what to do?
           Your spiritual growth! seems hindered,
           Try I. Peter 2 and 2.

If when every time you battle,
           the enemy always wins,
           Try some Holy Ghost Protein,
           And spiritual vitamins.

           God's Word can feed millions,
           And still have plenty left.
Because the Word of God is Soul Food,
Sent from the World's Greatest CHEF.
                                             Amen.

Sharing a poem I received in my email, thought you woud enjoy  reading it, I did.

    FAVOR WITH GOD

GENESIS 6:8-9 -- But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

    9. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. KJV

Some people work hard to earn the favor of employers, parents, or friends--unequivocal support and approval is a balm to the human heart. As believers, we strive after God’s favor, which He freely offers.

Unfortunately in our cynical culture, we often overlook the most basic examples of the Lord’s kindness. He provides for need, puts a limit on seasons of suffering, listens to and answer prayers, and bestows desires of the heart. Support, encouragement, and provision are blessings of the Almighty (James 1:17 -- Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down form the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning).

God’s favor isn’t capricious, as some suspect; He does not show kindness to some and withhold from others based on His whim. A believer’s actions stemming from faith make the difference. Consider Noah who walked with God. Noah’s willingness to keep a right relationship with Lord through daily trust and worship resulted in his entire family being saved from the world cleansing flood. This is a truly remarkable example of divine favor.

Another way we find favor is by keeping God’s commandments. (Proverbs 3:1-4). Believers are to feast on the Word in order to learn the Lord’s ways and practice His principles. As our hearts are bent toward our heavenly Father, we become more like Him. Consequently, His favor flows into every corner of the believer’s life.

    With God’s Love,

    Lois

    SEEK WISDOM FOR LIFE'S JOURNEY

We know each day is an incredible journey filled with challenge, excitement, set backs and victory.   Just when your life seems to be on track, the road ahead can take unexpected twists and turns.  As a Christian, you can be prepared for, whatever lies ahead when you're committed to studying God's Word.

Everyone benefits from regularly spending time with the Lord. Reading the Scriptures supplies your soul with the strength and nourishment needed for spiritual growth.  These wonderful truths give you wisdom and guidance to apply on daily basis.  There's simply no other book that can provide you with such a solid foundation for serving God, living productively, and finding true contentment.  The Bible's teachings remain as practical today as they were thousands of years ago.

Nobody understands this better than dedicated Fathers and Mothers who have modeled Christian charater and passed their faith on to their sons and daughters.

The greatest achievement that any parent can have is to prepare their children to become godly men and women who will impact the world for Christ.

    With God's Love,

    Lois

    SEARCHING FOR PEACE

JOHN 14:27 -- Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:  not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  KJV

Are you searching for peace?  Our world offers "peace" in the form of financial security, possessions, status, or power.  Some people believe peace is a by-product of good decisions, while others define it as the absence of difficultry.  These ideas may appear reliable, but ultimately they're an illusion.   Views like these  contradict the simple yet accurate description of peace--the inner serenity that flows out of a right relationship with God.

Although life's circumstances are continually changing, God's peace is a constant that's always available.  When you know the Lord is with you, His power will bring a sustaining calm that will deliver you through every storm.

You may be facing a broken realtionship, a job loss, or unsettling news from your doctor.  Despite the ominous storm clouds around you, there is a silver lining in the Lord's promise----My peace I give to you..... John 14:27 --

    With God's Love,

    GOD’S OWN PEOPLE

    1 PETER 2:9-10  -- KJV

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

    10. Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

    *************************************************

2:9-10 -- The priesthood of the believer and his unique relationship to God are described by the terms A CHOSEN GENERATION---A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD----A HOLY NATION. Thus, the New Testament church stands in a unique relationship to God as did Old Testament of Israel.

FAITHFUL CHURCH IN AN UNGODLY WORLD

    COLOSSIANS 2:1-9 KJV

    1. For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

    2. That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

    3. In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

    WARNING AGAINST FALSE TEACHING

    4. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

    5. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the Spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

    6. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

    7. Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

    8. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

    9. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. KJV

A church is able to stand firm against error and ungodly influences when Christians know what they believe and are unified in love. One other helpful characteristic is that they walk steadily by faith.

Just as our salvation came through belief and not feeling, our Christian life is to be lived in the same way. Living God’s way is contrary to the world’s mode of operating, which tells us that independence is of great value. The Lord declares that our life is to be marked by submission to Him. Society promotes self-assurance and a reliance on what we can see. Scripture reveals the foolishness of depending solely on our circumstances or other people. Instead, our confidence is to be place in Jesus, and we are to rely on Him alone.

We all need daily Spiritual nourishment directly from God’s Word if we are to maintain a godly lifestyle. Through study and application-both individually and corporately-we will learn how to replace human thinking with the Lord’s wisdom, draw on His strength, and make Him the center and substance of our life and our church. When we are deeply rooted and built up in Christ, false doctrine and error will “go in one ear and out the other.”

Gratitude is an extra layer of protection for the believer. When we focus on the goodness of God and praise Him for His blessings, the Enemy cannot easily distract us with lies.

With our church body knitted together in love, unified, and walking by belief in Jesus, we will be immovable in our faith.

    With God’s Love,

    Lois

    WISDOM'S ROADMAP

JAMES 1:5 -- If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and unbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

The one thing in life tht many people seek but so few seem to find is wisdom.  Believers listen to sermons, go to workshops, and attend seminars, but somehow the elusive pearl of wisdom still seems to slip through their fingers.  What must you do to acquire this gift that Scripture refers to as more precious than silver of god?

Many Chrisitians faithfully read God's Word but too often stop short and fail to act upon His teachings.

Unless you obey and apply His principles, you will never experience the wonderful blessings that the Father has planned for your life.  that is why many followers of Christ struggle with broken relatinships, financial problems and various addictions.

Ultimately, you must make a choice to either follow your limite knowledge or draw upon the unlimited riches of biblical truth.  When you fail to choose correctly, confess your sin and return quickly to the path of obedience.

Remember that God love you and desires only what is best for you.  Continue to write His truths on the table of your heart, and obey His commands.  Just like a reliable road map, they will alwlays point you in the right direction.

    With God's Love,

    Lois

    SUFFERING AND REWARD

    1 PETER 3: 13 -22

And who is he that will harm you, if ye be follows of that which is good? 14. But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror; neither be troubled; 15. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

    16. Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation ( conduct) in Christ. 17. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. 18. For Christ also hath once suffered for our sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit. 19. By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison. 20. Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God.) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 22. Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. KJV

    *****************************************************

    WHAT THE ABOVE VERSES MEAN:

3:15 -- An answer,” a defense of one’s beliefs” The Christian faith is to be defended by a reasonable apologetic with meekness and fear.

    16. -- A good conscience, refers to a clear conscience, that is, one void of offense.

17 -- In the will of God, we are sometimes called on to suffer for well-doing as a testimony to others.

18 - 22 ---That he might bring us to God, means in order that Christ might bring us to, or give us access to, God. Since Christ has opened up the way to God there is no longer the need of a priesthood; rather, each individual believer is himself a priest. Christ’s descent into Hades took place when he went and preached unto the spirits, which refers to those lost souls in hell who have rejected God. The immediate mention of Noah who indicate that these spirits be understood as the souls of those who heard and rejected Noah’s preaching, since they were the largest group of mankind ever to experience the universal judgment of God at one time. This preaching as announcement of His triumph on the Cross, which sealed the fate of these doomed souls. 21 -- Baptism doth also now save us, does not mean that water baptism is essential to salvation. Since it cannot wash away the filth of the flesh, baptism show the answer of a good conscience toward God. In other words, baptism is a conscious testimony of one’s faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ because it symbolizes our resurrection with Him.

( A person must be SAVED first, before they are baptised) As baptism does not save a person, as some believe...........

    With God's Love,

    Lois
