Whispers Of Lies
There is no truth in him [the devil]." - John 8:44.
There is no
truth in the devil. Whatever he is whispering in your ear--that you
are not good enough, that you aren't beautiful enough, that you aren't
smart enough, that you are fat--they are all lies. God sees you as
righteous through His Son's blood. He sees you as beautiful, smart and
a winner. If He believes those things about you, shouldn't you believe
those things too?

Have You Said Thank You?
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are
the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save
this stranger. — Luke 17:17-18 (KJV).
Of the ten
lepers who were cleansed by Jesus, only one return to say “Thank you.”
How many times are we like those nine lepers who were healed by Jesus?
How many times has God healed us? Saved us? Delivered us? Met our
needs? Protected us? How many times have we turned back to God and
said, “Thank. You, Lord”? How many times have we acknowledged what He
had done for us?

Remember Lot's Wife
Remember Lot's wife - Luke 17:32
Do you remember
what happened to Lot's wife? Lot, his wife and his family were fleeing
from Sodom and Gomorrah at the request of God where they lived. He
wanted them to go before He destroyed those wicked towns. They were
told not to look back, but Lot's wife did. And you know what
happened? She turned into a pillar of salt. If we look back to our
past too often, we too will be stuck in the past. We must keep our
eyes focused on things before us, not behind us.

Selfishness Causes Pain
Selfishness only causes trouble. You are much better off to trust the Lord. ~ Proverbs 28:25 (TEV).
When we are full of ourselves, thinking of ourselves, concerned about
our needs, our troubles, we will cause ourselves pain and suffering.
Instead we need to trust that the Lore has everything under control,
that He has us covered in every area of our lives. There is nothing
that goes on in our lives that He doesn't see and that He isn't willing
to help us with.

The Only Place
Yesterday, I had
a bad day. I woke up early to run an errand, to buy a new printer. My
old one has been a constant headache. Always having to reinstall the
software.
I bought a new printer that was on sale. Only to find out when I brought it home that it wasn’t compatible with my computer.
On the phone
with the technical support people, we find out that they are in India.
They have heavy accents, which we cannot understand. We became
frustrated by the wait time and communication difficulties. Then we
were told that there was nothing they could due to help us. But if we
would buy a new computer, if we would upgrade our computer for x number
of dollars, they could help us.
I tried to download the necessary drivers for the printer off the Internet at their site. Only I reached another dead end.
I exchanged the printer for another one that works perfectly with my computer.
Every once in a
while, we run into dead ends, obstacles that we can’t seem to overcome
and that wear our patience thin. Instead of blaming God or thinking
that God is punishing us, we need to God.
God loves us no matter what. We can get upset. We can blame Him. But He still loves us.
We nee to run to
the only place where we can find help. The only place where we can
find healing, deliverance and everything we need.
It is only in God’s arms that we can find what we need. It is the only place where we can be made whole.
Instead of
getting upset and fretful, like me, we need to run to God. We should
let Him help us, to let Him do through us what we cannot do.

Too Much Praise
Too much honey is bad for you, and so is trying to win too much praise. ~ Proverbs 25:27 (TEV).
Too much praise
is just as much as a problem as too much criticism. When we are
praised too much, it goes to our head and we become to full of
ourselves. Then we can't see our faults for all our good qualities.
Instead of trying to win the approval and compliments of others, we
need to choose to believe only what God says about us. God's opinion
and God's compliments are the only ones that count.

Expect To Receive
And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. ~ Acts 3:5 (KJV).
The lame man in

are you expecting from God? Are you expecting punishment? Sickness?
Trouble? Or are you expecting grace? Love? Healing? Whole life
prosperity? Be like a child whose parent has promised to take him to

that which you are expecting. Hallelujah!

The Sacrifices Of God
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. ~ Psalms 51:17 (KJV).
Sacrifices to
God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart. This means that
God loves for us to come to Him when we sin or mess up, to repent and
ask for His forgiveness with a sincere heart. It is when we try to
deny our sin, when we try to hide it, that’s when our heart becomes
hardened towards God. We must repent of our sins. We need to stay
broken before God, and He will not despise us.

Understand This
Understand
[this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready
listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. ~
James 1:19 (AMP).
This is really
good advice. How many times do we have problems in life because we
didn't heed it? We talked more than we listened. We took offense. We
got angry. How many times have our friendships been destroyed by these
things? Nine out of ten times if we would have listened more than we
spoke, if we didn't take offense and gotten angry, we would still have
many of the relationships we have now lost.

Our Heritage
But in that
coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence
every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the

circumstances will form against you. It is your heritage as a child of
God that those weapons not succeed. They can be formed, but they
cannot succeed. It is also our heritage that every tongue that rises

On Earth As It Is In Heaven
I
was in college, away from God. I developed a lump on the back of my
neck. My mother dragged me, kicking and screaming, to church, a place
I wasn’t sure I ever wanted to go to again.
I went up for
prayer, and the lump disappeared. That's the day I met Jehovah-Rapha,
my Healer. And you cannot convince me to this day that He doesn't
heal. I've had people try.
The Bible tells
us in the prayer that the Lord taught His disciples, "Thy will be done
in earth, as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10).
There is no sickness in heaven. No disease. No pain. No sorrow. No grief.
According to
this Scripture, there should be no sickness, disease, pain, sorrow and
grief on Earth. Yet obviously we see those things everywhere we go.
The Bible says
"In the world we will have tribulation:," someone might say. Yes, but
that is only half the verse. The rest says, "but be of good cheer; I
have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
When Jesus died
on the Cross at Calvery (and yes, it always does come back to that).
He took our sicknesses, our diseases, our pain, even our grieves and
sorrows, on His body. If He took them, we don't have to.
Right now He is
at the right-hand of the Father, making intercession for us. He rose
from the dead and ascended into Heaven. Not before he went to hell to
take back authority to the earth from satan. Before ascending, though,
He gave that authority back to us.
If we permit
sickness or fear down here, it is permitted because we have the
authority. Instead we are to stand against sickness, disease, poverty
or whatever other problem we are facing. It is our right to be
healed. It is our right to be delivered. It is our right to prosper.
We have to stand
firm to what God says we can have in His Word. We have to believe it.
We have to stick to those promises by speaking them over our lives, by
agreeing with them, until they manifest.
Jesus took the curse for us, so that we could be free from it (Galatians 3:13). Stand firm to those promises.
Tell sickness, disease and all the other curses of the law listed in Deuteronomy 28 that they are evicted from your life.
Then stand firm. Eventually your natural circumstances will come in line with the Word of God.

Stick To Your Calling
Because of this,
brethren, be all the more solicitous and eager to make sure (to ratify,
to strengthen, to make steadfast) your calling and election; for if you
do this, you will never stumble or fall. ~ 2 Peter 1:10 (AMP).
This verse tells
us to stick to our calling. If we do, it says you will never stumble.
If we try to do someone else's calling, if we try to be like someone
else, we will fail every time. Ask God to lead you into all truth
about what He called you to be.

And God Laughs...
The wicked
plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. The

The Lord laughs
at the evil men, the wicked ones, plotting and scheming against the
righteous. They don't even realize their time is almost up. Unlike
them, the devil knows his time is short. That's why he is trying to

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. ~ Matthew 24:35 (KJV).
This Earth and
Heaven will pass away because the Bible tells us that God is going to
give us a new Heaven and a new Earth (Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22). His
Word, the Bible, will never pass away. It is the sure Word of God. If
you need a Word from God, go to the Bible. If you stand on it, and you

How To Receive The Promises
We do not want you to become lazy, but to be like those who believe and
are patient, and so receive what God has promised. - Hebrews 6:12 (TEV).
To receive what God has promised, we have to do two things: believe and
wait. We have to hold fast to the promises that God has made to us in
His Word. We have to believe that we receive those promises. We have
to see ourselves as already possessing those promises. We have to know
that we have the promises no matter how long they take to manifest in
the natural.

The Frustration Of Grace
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. - Galatians 2:21.
I heard a preacher teach on this Scripture. He said that we can
frustrate the grace of God. He said that if we did, it wouldn't work
for us any longer. Something about that didn't sit right with me, so I
looked up the Greek word used in this Scripture for frustrate. It is
the transliterated Greek word Atheteo, which means to do away with, to
set aside, to thwart the efficacy of anything, nullify, make void,
frustrate. In essence this Scripture is saying that we should not do
away with the grace of God. It is saying that if we believe and act as
though righteousness comes from the law, then Christ died in vain.
Christ came to bring us grace—the undeserved, unearned favor of God. We
are in right-standing, righteousness, with God because of Christ's
death, burial and resurrection. We didn't earn it. We didn't deserve
it. We can never pay it back.

How's That Working For You?
Growing up,
being an only child, I learned to entertain myself. I'd line up my
dolls along my bed and play school, or I'd type up newsletters on my
Mom's old portable typewriter. I'd even pretend to be a doctor or a
ballerina.
After a while it
became clear where my talents lied. As much as I felt I was supposed
to do something worthwhile with my life, I had my own plans, as many of
us do.
I met a guy, who
I thought I was head over heels in love with. We were engaged. We
planned to get married. I knew that my dreams from God didn't fit into
his lifestyle, his philosophy of life.
Instead I
pursued God's life for me part-time, on the side after working a string
of dead-end jobs. I wasn't happy because I knew what God wanted me to
do. Deep in my soul, I knew. I also knew that any man who couldn't
accept what God was telling me to do, no matter how foolish it seemed,
wasn't anyone God wanted me to be involved with.
I am the definition of insanity. I stay with things and people long after I can see that it is not working.
About five years
into the relationship, our problems mounted. Around that time, I had
that near-death experience from drinking too much water.
Soon afterward
he made it clear that his feelings for me had changed. I thought, Here
I am in the middle of a string of kidney and bladder infections, and
this guy is breaking up with me?
It was as if God was saying to me, "So, how's your plans working for you?"
I knew I had to
change my ways. I knew I had to surrender my plans and take up the
Lord's. The truth is that people have thought over the years that I am
crazy, and maybe I am, but I'd rather be crazy than be without God on
my side.
When the guy
wanted me back, I knew that the answer had to be no. God delivered me
from that relationship, and I couldn't go back.
So, how are your
plans working for you? Are you happy? Do you feel that tugging at
your heart that says you aren't where God wants you to be?
It is time that
we choose God's plans over ours. His Will over ours. It is time that
we ask God to lead us into all truth concerning His purpose for our
lives.
Remember: His plans are always blessed. Our aren't.

He Did It All For You
He personally
bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered

Jesus personally
sacrificed His life on the Cross for you. He knew you from the
foundation of the world, and He gave up His own life for you. He took
on Himself your sins. He was beaten and brusied for your sicknesses,
your diseases and your broken heart. He was raised from the dead. He

Spend Time With Him
No, the Lord has told us what is good. What he requires of us is this:
to do what is just, to show constant love, and to live in humble
fellowship with our God. ~ Micah 6:8 (TEV).
What does God require of us? We are to live in humble fellowship with
God. We need to fellowship with Him every day. We should talk to Him
throughout the day. When we have a problem, we should take it to Him.
When we are angry, we should tell Him. We also need to listen for Him
to speak. He loves us, and like normal parents want to spend time with
their sons and daughters, He wants to spend time with us. Why not set
aside time to spend with Him today?

What In Your Life Stinks?
Jesus
said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead,
saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead
four days. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice,
Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and
foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin.
Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. ~ John 11:39, 43-44
(KJV).
Are there things
in your life that have a bad smell? That have been buried for too
long? Things that you have grieved over? Things you decided were a
lost cause? Just call for Jesus as Mary and Martha did. Just as He
raised Lazarus from the dead, He can resurrect the dead things in your
life as well.

Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be

If we have faith the size of a mustard seed.

circumstances, we too will reap a large harvest.

Here On Assignment
"My food," Jesus

the work he gave me to do. ~ John 4:34 (TEV).
If it was food
to Jesus to do the will of the Father, that means it was nourishment to
his body. It was what kept Him alive. Without foo, He would have
died. Without His purpose. His assignment. He would not have been
needed on this Earth. We, just like Jesus, are here on assignment. As
long as we are breathing, we haven't finished it yet. As long as we
are breathing, there is still more for us to do. As Jesus did, we need
to be doing what God sent us here to do. And the only One who knows
what He sent us to do is God. Ask Him about it today.

Stay Still
As I mentioned
last week, I have struggled in the past with anxiety issues. I still
do from time to time. If I dwelled on the negative thoughts too long,
they sent me into a full-blown panic attack. I have experienced panic
attacks less frequently since I learned to stay still.
Conventional
wisdom tells us when things are going wrong in our lives, when we are
going through crisis, we should work harder, read more of the Bible,
confess more Scriptures, do more good works.
No, the time for
reading, confessing and doing is before the trial. See trials are
similar to growing crops. We have to plant the seed, water it and give
it sunlight before it grows up. Once it is here, that's not the time
to plant, water or give it sunlight. In fact, if we didn't do all
those things before, we wouldn't have any crops at all. Instead, when
it grows up, it is time to harvest.
The same is true
for trials. When we are in the middle of the trial, that is not the
time to start reading the Word or confessing Scripture. It is the time
to maintain our reading and confessing.
We should be reading the Word and confessing Scriptures before the trial to prepare us for the hard times.
It is a time to rest, to stay still, to believe that God will do what He promised in His Word.
Rest? What does
that mean? Most of us in this work hard, play hard society have no
idea what it means to rest. We think it means to sleep, but rest is so
much more than that.
My Webster's
Collegiate Dictionary has ten definitions for rest. My favorites are
freedom from activity; quiet; tranquillity; peace of mind or spirit; to
repose without anxiety; to trust; rely; depend.
We say we believe God. We say we believe His Word and all the promises in it, but do we really?
Do we believe
Him enough to say "God, You said You shall supply all my needs
according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Lord, I'm just
going to rest in that promise, knowing you are going to come through
for me"? Even when we are facing money issues? Unemployment?
Demotion? An empty bank account?
Do we believe
Him enough to trust in Him? Rely on Him? Depend on Him when we are in
a crisis? For most of us, the answer is no.
Where has our
belief in our circumstances gotten us? Where has our belief in the bad
reports of this world gotten us? We received what we believed.
If that is true,
wouldn't the opposite be true too? If we believe God's Word and put
our faith in what God has said, wouldn't we receive what we believe too?
What do we have
to lose? If it doesn't work for us, we are still in the same position
as we were before. We are no worse and no better.
But what if it does work as God said it would? Then we could be living the life God intended for us to live.
Stay still in
adverse circumstances. Believe God. Rely solely on Him and His Word
because He keeps us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on Him.

Our Shalom
A child has been
born for us. We have been given a son who will be our ruler. His
names will be Wonderful Advisor and Mighty God, Eternal Father and
Prince of Peace. ~ Isaiah 9:6 (CEV).
We hear this
Scripture at Christmas. Have you ever thought about it, though? Jesus
came to this Earth as a baby. He was in Mary's womb. He went through
all the trials and tribulations of growing up. Jesus--God in the
flesh--did that for you, so He could die and be raised from the dead
for you. He truly is our Prince of Peace, our Shalom. He is our
nothing missing, nothing broken God.

You Cannot Earn It!
See
to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows
up to cause trouble and defile many. ~ Hebrews 12:15 (NIV).
See to it that
no one misses the grace of God. Many people sing about grace, but they
do not tap into the grace--the undeserved, unearned favor of God. If
you are laboring for grace, it isn't grace. You cannot earn it. You
cannot deserve it. Otherwise it would not be grace. It's there when
we mess up, fall and fail, we just have to ask God for it, knowing that
we have neither earned it nor deserved it.

Who Is Like Our God?
And who, as I,
shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I
appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall
come, let them shew unto them. ~ Isaiah 44:7
Who is like our
God? Are you? I know I am not. Let anyone who is like God, stand up
and declare the things yet to come. But no one can because only God is
God, only he can truly and accurately proclaim the future. There is no
one like our God. Hallelujah!

Put Your Confidence In Him
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; ~ Hebrews 3:14
We are partakers
with Christ. We are joint-heirs with Jesus. We are brothers and
sisters with Jesus, and as such, we are partakers in God's
inheritance....if we hold onto our confidence from the beginning to the
end. We have to trust God and put our confidence in Him that He will
perform what He promised in His Word.

Desensitized To God
For the heart of
this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and
their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and
hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be
converted, and I should heal them. ~ Acts 28:27
It is so easy to
go on with our every day activities and forget our God. It is so easy
to become so desensitized to the murders, abductions and violence on
the news that our hearts become hard toward God. Our ears turn from
His voice. But if we will come back to Him, just as the Prodigal son's
father, He will open His arms wide and welcome us home.
