The Hero Of Our Salvation
“For God loved
the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone
who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. ~ John 3:16
(NLT).
Anyone who
believes in Jesus has eternal life. Not through their good works. Not
through being good enough. Only by believing on the Lord Jesus
Christ. Only Jesus can save us. Sometimes we just need to be reminded
of that.

Do Whatever He Tells You
But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” ~ John 2:5 (NLT).
Mary's advice
applies to us as well. Do whatever God tells you to. When you obey,
you will have less headaches down the road. It is when we disobey that
we suffer the consequences for action. We become in a prison of our
own doing. Short-ciruit the problems. Just obey.

God Is His Word
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. ~ John 1:1 (NLT).
The Word is
God. God is His Word. When we read the Bible, we are getting to know
our Heavenly Father, God. We cannot effectively hear the voice of God
or discern His prompting and cues if we don't know what God is like.
Read the Bible more. Get to know God better. If we do, there will be
less static in the communication lines between us and God.

Confess Your Sins
People who
conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from
them, they will receive mercy. ~ Proverbs 28:13 (NLT).
If we conceal
our sins, if we keep them hidden, we will suffer. We will worry
someone will find out what we have done. We will live in constant
worry. However, if we confess our sins to God and to others, we will
receive mercy. Sins that are hidden cause pain. Confessed sins free us.

A Real Treasure
The heartfelt counsel
of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. ~ Proverbs 27:9
(NLT).
When
your friend tells you the truth, such as you complain too much or do
something that offends others, rather than sparing your feelings,
that friend thinks highly of you. He cares about your character and
the way you live your life. Most people won't tell you the truth.
They sugar-coat it instead. Praise God for honest friends. They are
a real treasure.

Short-Term Pain, Long-Term Gain
A person without
self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.
~ Proverbs 25:28 (NLT).
Do
you exercise self-control? Most people react on their emotions.
They don't think before they act. If we don't feel like exercising,
we don't. If we are angry, we blow up at whoever is in our path. If
we think before we act and consider the long-term gain rather than
the short-term pain, we would be walking with more self control.

Receive The Promises
Therefore I say
unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye
receive them, and ye shall have them. ~ Mark 11:24 (KJV).
Let's say, I
hand you a beautiful present with red wrapping and a neatly tied white
bow and say, “Here, I want you to have this.” Instead of grabbing it,
though, you put your hands to your side and make no attempt to reach
for it. I can't give you the present because your hands aren't
outstretched. If I did, it would fall to the ground.
Now, who is at fault because you didn't receive your present? The person giving it? Or the person receiving it?
This might seem like a silly illustration. Why wouldn't someone receive a present, you might ask.
When it comes to receiving our promises from God, though, we do just that. We don't receive them.
I've heard
people say, “Well, God doesn't heal everyone,” “Miracles don't happen
today,” “God only answers the prayers of people like Oral Roberts and
Kenneth Copeland.”
If He answered
their prayers, He has to answer yours too. What He did for one, He
must do for another. He is no respecter of persons. However, He is a
respecter of faith.
If you do what they did, He will do the same thing for you.
You must believe
the promises of God and stand firm to them. Not letting anyone talk
you out of the promises you find in God's Word, His expressed will,
for you. If you do this and pray according to His Word in Jesus' Name,
you should see your promise fulfilled, right?
No, there is one more thing you must do. You must receive it.
How do you receive? How would you receive that present? You would take it from me and say “Thank you.”
That's the same
thing we must do with God's promises. We have to take hold of them by
standing firm, but we also must thank God in advance for what He is
going to do in our lives.
Have you ever
seen a child whose parent promised him a trip to Disneyland? He is
excited. He thanks his Dad or Mom, then he goes and tells all his
friends that He is going to Disneyland. He doesn't question whether
Dad or Mom is really going to take him. He believes his parent will be
faithful to the promise. He accepts it as truth. He has already
received the promise.
We need to be
like this with God's promises. We should accept what God says in His
Word without question. Believe it. Tell all our friends how God is
going to meet our needs. Thank Him in advance for what He is about to
do. Then and only then will we received the promise.

He Will Pay Them Back
And don’t say, “Now
I can pay them back for what they’ve done to me! I’ll get even
with them!” ~ Proverbs
24:29 (NLT).
When
people hurt or betray us, we become angry. Instead of taking matters
into our own hands by beating them up or getting revenge ourselves,
we need to turn the situation over to God. Only He can bring justice
to the matter. Only He can take revenge. It may take a while, but
in the end, we see how God always deals with those who do His
children wrong.

However, there are people that will not listen to the truth, no matter

Higher Than Our Ways
No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord. ~ Proverbs 21:30 (NLT). We cannot, in our limited understanding, comprehend God's plans. Even when God doesn't seem to be working in our lives, that's when He is doing the most. When we go through difficulties, we cannot understand how God can turn it around for our good. He always does, though, because His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. - Annagail Lynes

worth loving, shouldn't you think so too by developing a healthy love
of yourself based on what He says about you in His Word?

often do we listen to rumors? How often do we believe what we hear?
Most times we don't verify the facts. Instead we believe everything

treat others the same way we would like to be treated?

Faith Works By Love
For
in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor
uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. ~ Galatians 5:6
(KJV).
Faith
works by love. I believe that every thing in the Bible, every
promise, every condition, hinges on the love of God.
It
hinges on believing that God loves you. Recently I read a question
from someone that read “Is it a sin to love yourself before
others?” You cannot truly love yourself or others without
believing that God loves you.
And
the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. ~ Mark
12:31.
This
verse tells us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. If we
don't love ourselves, we can't love others because we will treat them
the same way we treat ourselves. And if we don't love others, we
don't love God.
How
can we truly love ourselves if we don't believe God loves us? We can
only see our true worth when we believe what God says about us. It
is only when we believe that the Creator of the Universe, the Great
Alpha and Omega, can love someone like us—faults and all--that we
can see how much we are worth.
We
don't obey God before we believe He loves us. It is a byproduct of
believing it. We aren't blessed because we are good enough or
because we confess Scriptures every day. It isn't even because we
pray enough or go to church enough. No, we are blessed because we
believe that God loves us.
When
we believe that, we step into our new identity. We put on our coat
of many colors, our coat of promise. It represents who we
are—children of the Most High God.
It
is then that we take on our new identity and become the person God
created us to be. We cannot move forward in our destinies, our work
for the Lord, until we learn how to be loved by God, until we take a
leap of faith and believe that God loves us.
Take
the book of John and read one chapter every day. Keep reading it
until it seeps into your spirit. Find Scriptures on the love God has
for you and read them every day. When you go by the mirror every
morning and evening, tell your reflection “God loves me.”
Do
these exercises every day until you really believe that God loves
you. Then watch those long-standing problems in your life disappear.

God Can Use You
For I know the
thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and
plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your
final outcome. ~ Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP).
God has a plan
for our lives. We have dreams that God has place deep within our
spirits. Maybe it’s to teach. Perhaps it’s to build our own
businesses. Or maybe we want to write a novel.
Whatever the dream if we have accepted what Jesus did on the Cross, we can be almost certain that it is from God.
But for most of
us, life has interrupted the pursuit of our dreams. Perhaps a
long-standing illness took over our lives. Maybe we married, had kids
and are helping to support our families. Perhaps we were sidetracked
by an anxiety disorder that kept us bound to fear. Whatever the
reason, we have lost sight of the dreams God put in our hearts.
Maybe we think
that God can’t use us because we are women. We are too young or too
old. We aren’t educated enough. We are divorced. We aren’t married.
We are married with children.
It isn’t who we are in ourselves that qualifies us to be used by God. It’s who we are in Christ that qualifies us.
We couldn’t gain
our salvation through our good works or anything we said or did. The
only way to be saved, to receive eternal life, was to accept what Jesus
did on the Cross. Jesus, the sinless, blameless Son of God, died on
the Cross. He took all of our sins--past, present and future--on
Himself. God raised Him from the dead. He ascended back into Heaven
and is right now at the right hand of the Father, making intercession
for us.
If we didn’t
have to be perfect to be saved, why would God suddenly change the
rules? Why would He expect us to be perfect in order to use us? We,
as long as we are in this human form, will never be perfect.
God isn’t looking for perfect vessels, only willing ones. If you are willing, God can use you.
Don’t give up on
your dreams. Give them to God and watch Him “do superabundantly, far
over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our
highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]” (Ephesians 3:20
AMP).

Make God Smile
I will cause you to become the father of a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and I will make you a blessing to others.~ Genesis 12:2 (NLT).
We are blessed to be a blessing to others.
Some people believe we shouldn’t ask God to bless us because it is selfish. But the true purpose of being blessed is to bless others.
Not only through our money but also through our time, our talents, our resources and our experiences. We have been where others are now. They can benefit from our wisdom.
We need to stop focusing on ourselves and our problems. Instead we need to search for ways we can help others.
Who is hurting in your community? Who has a need in your town? Who is going hungry? Who lost his job? Whose kids have no shoes?
Helping others is not about helping only those who attend your church. It is about helping those in need.
When we see Jesus healing the sick, casting out demons and meeting the needs of others in the Gospels, we don’t see Him confining His good works to the synagogue walls.
No, He healed everyone who had the faith to believe. In the synagogue. Out of the synagogue. Male. Female. Even a Gentile.
We, as God’s children, are to follow His example. We must help others as Jesus did. Without question. Without argument.
If you know an elderly woman in your neighborhood who lives alone, why not pay her a visit? Bring her a meal or two. Or check in on her once a week.
If you know a family who is struggling, buy them some groceries or a gift card to purchase clothes. Pray for God to bless them.
If you know someone who is discouraged, take the time to buy them a card or send them an e-card. Maybe even take them to lunch.
Our agenda needs to be God’s agenda. His agenda is to meet the needs of others--spiritually as well as physically.
There are things we can be doing for others right in our own sphere of influence. All we have to do is find them and do them.
Each time we bless others, we make God smile.
And when we take care of God’s business, He takes care of ours.
