WHY WAS GOD GRACIOUS TO JABEZ?  

We learn from Scripture that Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because she experienced pain when she was giving birth to him. He made an earnest appeal to God for a blessing and it was granted.

We read, Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request (1 Chronicles 4: 10). 

Jabez is the Hebrew word for pain.

 God has a plan for your life. Surrender your life to him and trust him fully. God will accomplish his plan for your life. If you are not a born again believer, receive Jesus and become a child of God (John 1: 12; Rom. 10: 9-10).

Give of your best to the Master,  

    Give Him first place in your heart;  

       Give Him first place in your service,

COULD AN IRON AXHEAD FLOAT? 

The company of prophets complained to Elisha that their meeting place was too small. They suggested that they could go to the Jordan and obtain material to build a shelter where they could live. Elisha agreed. 

One of the prophets asked Elisha to go with them and he went. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. ‘Oh, my lord,’ he cried out, ‘it was borrowed (2 Kings 6: 5).

Elisha asked, Where did it fall? When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float (2 Kings 6: 6).

Elisha asked the man to lift it out and he did.
