Just a bunch of odds and ends. Life is strange sometimes, so this will probably be strange, too...

    This is a Political Observation:

You know, I don't think anything is right because the majority of people think something. I think if something is right, eventually a few of us will grasp it despite ourselves, whether we are believers or not. When enough grasp what is at hand, the majority, for whatever their reasoning, will come to the same answer. The Truth is the Truth and it is Plain to See most times. At some point, the Truth becomes evident and increasingly hard to deny. So that is a "Truth we can Hope For!!!" (Yes, an unabashed twist on "A Hope We can Believe In!!!" and I am not ashamed of my Hope!)

This does go along with the post I had hoped to complete this weekend, but did not find the time to do.

Big Government is not the Answer. Big Government cannot Love anyone. Big Government does not serve the Truth, but seeks to obscure it. Big Government never wishes to truely address its Own corruption. Big Government is a big Negative.

God makes this clear in his Word, but we refuse to listen. We want someone to 'handle it' but don't trust God!!!

    But despite that:

Look and wonder about this and this!!! Are they connected? Hmmm... I think so! Where does the President's Authority really come from? The People who will change their minds like the wind? How about from an Almighty and Unchanging God!?! Something for any politician to consider...

    'Nuff Said,

    Mel

Just a thought -- Reaping what you sow...

Andrea posted a link to her father's website, where I found this:

The main thing keeping the masses of people on earth now from committing certain sinful acts is because laws restrain them from doing them.  When the great rebellion takes place, more than likely, laws will be abolished that will allow mankind to do anything they want.  The masses will quickly gather around a man who will allow the 'anything goes' philosophy and who will implement a lawless society.  The world is crying out for that type of society even now.

The laws do not need to be abolished. The only thing that needs to happen is that those who enforce the laws refuse to do so. You can see this already beginning to happen today. I made no great prophetic proclamation when I said I saw this coming. I spoke to this very subject Nov 4th of 2008. Go back and read what I said. Put it into the context of the 'end times' and you might just become a little scared. I am not predicting the end. I cannot. I will not. By the time I am free to make such a statement, it will already be upon us. So don't ask me to.

Recently I was on the Mall downtown in Denver.  The Walk Signal was lit.  I started accross without looking any further. A car, going quite fast (speeding, maybe/probably) caused me to jump back. I was on the side closest to the oncoming traffic, so it clearly was running a red light unless the signal was malfunctioning. A motorcycle cop was sitting across the intersection from me. When I looked at him, he seemed to be looking right at me, although I could not tell for sure because of sunglasses he was wearing. His helmet was on. He was sitting on his bike.  I waved my hands palm upward in front of me about waist high to say "Hello???" I seemed to see a slight shrug, but no other response. If a person is constantly let off on running a red light, what is the likelihood they will stop on their own? I won't even qualify this with what kind of person they would be as if I were any better. This is our human fleshly nature. All of us have this in us.

The Sword is already being witheld. I don't know that this officer thought I was 'unworthy' or not. I do know that sometimes in neighborhoods where the "Don't Snitch" culture is taking root, they do have that attitude and understandably so. Just have one friend die trying to do well when they can't because they will not get just the simple truth needed to do their job, and I would be likely to say they are not worthy. Would it make it right to not help them because they are not worthy? Nope. Would the truth be they are not worthy? Yup, but who really is worthy?

This attitude is in Soldiers.  Why go to <<insert place name here>> and die for them? They really don't care for what we are trying to do. They all just hate us and want to kill us. So why should I die for them? This battle has been ageless, but our society agrees with this attitude more and more each generation. Is that attitude correct?  I say no. But many say "To Hell With It" and that is exactly what is happening. I don't think it takes a Prophet to see where this is going. People choose to be blind. People do not love the Truth. That speaks of end times, and even from a Humanist Point of View, I can tell you this will not go well...

Wanda Sykes seems to be a Bigoted Racist full of Hate...

Now, this is my opinion.  I hope by now you know that what I post here tends to lean more towards that than outright teaching. Maybe you will be emboldened to speak here. But this is what I see quite clearly: An embittered person who has refused to forgive and been suppressing hatred for sooo long that when it looks like the wind is changing, she can lash out freely, and does, with great venom. I am certain there is something behind her own vitriol. There usually is. But it does not excuse it.

What I am referring to is the comment she made:

"Rush Limbaugh – 'I hope the country fails,'" Sykes continued. "I hope his kidneys fail, how 'bout that. He needs a good waterboarding, that's what he needs."

This is from the following link:

    http://cbs5.com/national/president.barack.obama.2.1007012.html

Malcolm X was right. She is part of what he foresaw and foretold. No wonder the Nation of Islam feared him so greatly.

33"Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good man (or woman) brings good things out of the good stored up in him, (or her) and the evil man (or woman) brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. (or her) 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

    Matthew 12:33-37 (NIV)

Now I could make jokes every bit as bitter as she has.  Sadly, I have.  I have had my own children confront me and had to apologize. A British Journalist was shocked by this and more so by the acceptance of the President of the United States of this as being properly considered 'humor'.  Sounds more like the veiled death threats of the Nation of Islam to me.  Nothing funny about that. This correspondent was also amazed that such utter crap was deemed acceptable by the people around him. America’s reputation is justifiably diminished in his eyes.

Her commentary has to do with the fact that Rush Limbaugh has stated that he hopes this administration (i.e. Obama) fails. She takes that as reason to say that Rush Limbaugh wants America to fail! Guess what?  That is very narrow minded of her! Prejudice oozes from her like from a festering puss ball from a deep wound. She has a lot of Hatred in her and it is coming out for all to see.

Let me explain one way to look at it:

Obama's Policies are the water in the Pot. Current Politics is the Pot that holds this water. And we, as Americans, are sitting in that water in that pot right now like some poor little frog. If that water gets hot enough quick enough (i.e. Obama's Program fails quickly) we will feel the heat, and jump out, thereby saving ourselves. If the temperature rises slowly enough (i.e. the failure is not quick enough to be noticed in time) we will be boiled alive, cooked and ready for someone to just stick a fork in us.  Which seems to favor us?  The former or the latter?  According to Wanda Sykes, it must be the former, and Rush should Die for not being a True Believer in the New Messiah!

"Too much?" Sykes asked the president, who was grinning. "But you're laughing inside."

I echo "Too Much?" but insist I am not joking!

I will speak true as much as I can.  Obama did smile. There has been not a peep out of the White House about how wrong this person is.  Obama says he is all about working together and the "Golden Rule" but I see none of that in this comedy he condones. At best, this is extreme partisan rancor. Barak Obama, by inaction, is acting. Can you hear what he is saying by his actions which are screaming at me? I will tell you that an era of extreme partisan behavior is what is 'On the Hill' right now, and that is not good for America. Although I hold out some hope that things might go right, I have little faith at all in this Administration, and if it is going to fail, I hope they fail miserably and quickly. That way leads to much less pain than the slow lingering death this country could be in for. I am with Rush on this one.

So make a joke about me now, and see if I laugh. I don't take people making death threats real well. I wonder if a Liberal Jury would acquit me???

President Bill Clinton earns some respect... (it seems he was due, BTW)

I am not saying he did everything right and that he still does not have things to come clean on, but recent things I have come accross lead me to re-evaluate a bit of his Legacy.

http://www.newsmax.com/ruddy/Clinton_book_Reagan/2009/05/01/209743.html is intended, I think, more as an attack of the failings (already) of the current administration.  However, the piece I got out of it was the fact that President Clinton may not have been as completely in the corner of the 'entitlement entrappers' as I previously thought.  I am not sure that I will find the time to get and read the book mentioned in the article, but I am putting it high up on the list of 'try to read' books.  I always knew that he was a shrewd politician and an eloquent speaker.  He always had my grudging respect in those matters.  However, this article points out to me that he might not have been the socialist that most Democrats tend to get labeled.  (some of them still clearly *do* deserve that label, IMHO)  If you can see what I see in this, there is some hope for Politicians yet. Maybe Bill, despite (or because of his ability to overcome) his weaknesses, will eventually elevate himself to the level of a Statesman in my eyes.  He has a chance.  And to be truthful, what I think of him matters not at all for his sake as much as it does for my own sake.

I am making an apology, of sorts, for some of the vitriolic words I have said that cross the line and judge the heart of this man.  Some of the things I think he needs to come clean on, he may have already done in a private manner.  For his personal sake, I think that is enough.  For the sake of this country, I think he needs to realize just how much good he can still do for us by bearing a cross for us all.  I cannot demand it.  That is a big one.  I don't know that I could do it.  So it stands between him and God, not him and me.

Probably the thing that really primed my mind to accept this was the following article:

    http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/bill_clinton_jack_kemp/2009/05/03/210220.html

Although his political aspirations may be done, this struck me as genuine, even if just a prepared statement.  I cannot explain this rationally, I am afraid, just like I cannot explain why I can sometimes agree with someone in a specific prayer request and at other times, cannot.  Does it make me correct in my assessment?  No.  But I don't think that was what mattered.  I think what mattered most was that my heart was prepared to receive a strange message that I could not otherwise understand or receive.  The death of a Great Person was an opportunity to cut through the hardness of my own heart.  That is humbling to think about, that someone should die to win my heart.  So what is being a Christian all about, I ask with just a bit of renewed vigor?  Your answer is important!

    Mel
