    Reflections on the Linoleum

I was walking around in a new building some time ago, and as I walked, I was looking down at the floor and I noticed the reflections of the lights. I was reminded of a statement that went something like this; “We are to be like the moon reflecting the Son.” Then I thought of the different types of flooring.

Some floors are highly polished wood which give light a warm glow. Some are marble all cold and bright. Others are linoleum in need of wax job all scuffed and dull. Which type of floor are you? How do you reflect the “Light”?

A little drama in nature today

This evening as I was driving through one of the hospital's parking lots I saw a bit of drama in real life. I saw a big red tailed hawk on the ground. I watched for a few minuites from my patrol car, and I could see he had caught one of the many rabbits aroun here. He was just calmly having dinner on the lawn. It's variety of wildlife around the hospital is amazing.
I've seen skunks, racoons, groundhogs, foxes, deer, chipmunks in the courtyard, and now this hawk close up. Oh yea there was a big Great Horned Owl that was sitting on top of the parking structure one night.

    Thoughts during communion

As I sat quietly after the communion plate was passed. I held the "bread" in one hand and wondered at the changes from New Testament times. Todays "bread" was just a bit of cracker, not the real chunks of bread torn from a loaf. It was dry and mostly tasteless.
How like the lives of most so called Christians today. Their spiritual lives are dry and tasteless too.
My hope is that we will reach out to the Living Bread who came down from Heaven and be nourished by the food He gives, not some modern dry crusty proper cracker.
