Whoever Says...
9) Whoever says he is in the Light and [yet] hates his brother [Christian, born-again child of God his Father] is in darkness even until now.
10) Whoever loves his brother [believer] abides (lives) in the Light, and in It or in him there is no occasion for stumbling or cause for error or sin.

I AmThe Door...
I Assure you, most solemnly I tell you, he who does not enter by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way (elsewhere, from some other quarter) is a thief and a robber.
2) But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3). The watchman opens the door for this man, and the sheep listen to his voice and heed it: and he calls his own sheep by name and brings (leads) them out.
4) When he has brought his ownsheep outside, he walks on before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5). They will never [on any account] follow a stranger, but will run away from him because they do not know the voice of strangers or recognize their call.
6). Jesus used this parable (illustration) with them, but they did not understand what He was talking about.
7). So Jesus said again. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that I Myself am the Door for the sheep.
8). All others who came [as such] before Me are thieves and robbers, but the [true] sheep did not listen to and obey them.
9) I am the Door: anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out [freely], and will find pasture.
10) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

The Upper Room...
10) And while they were gazing intently into heaven as He went, behold, two men [dressed] in white robes suddenly stood beside them.
11) Who said, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing into heaven? This same Jesus, Who was caught away and lifted up from among you into heaven, will return in [just] the same way in which you saw Him go into Heaven.
12) Then [the disciples] went back to Jerusalem from the hill called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, [only] a Sabbath day's journey (three-quarters of a mile) away.
13) And when they had entered [the city], they mounted [the stairs] to the upper room where they were [indefinitely] staying -- Peter and John and James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas [son] of James.

$100 Cake....
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening or 2 sticks butter or margarine
5 eggs, separated
1 cup buttermilk
3 cups cake flour
5 Tbsp. strong coffee
4 Tbsp. cocoa, rounded
1 pinch salt
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. vanilla
Cream sugar and butter thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients together. Beat eggs separately. Add yolks to sugar and butter, mixing well. Add dry ingredients alternately with liquids. Fold in well-beaten egg whites last. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes or until done. Makes 3 layers.
ICING:
1 box powdered sugar
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
3 Tbsp. strong coffee (or more to taste)
1 egg yolk OR 1 ounce liquid egg substitute
1 tsp. vanilla
Sift sugar with cocoa. Cream butter, add sugar and cocoa mixture with liquids, and beat with electric mixer.

Butter Pecan Pound Cake
1 Butter Pecan cake mix, 4 eggs, 1 cup of water, 3/4 cup of oil
Beat ingredients for about 2 minutes. Add 1 can of coconut pecan frosting . Sprinkle greased pan with powdered sugar and 1/4 cup of pecans. Pour batter over and bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.

Squash Fritters
2 cups grated raw squash
1/4 teaspoon onion, 2 teaspoons of sugar
6 tablespoons of flour, 2 teaspoons of melted butter
1 teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 eggs,
2 teaspoons melted butter
Combine squash, onion, pepper, sugar, salt, flour, eggs and melted butter. Drop by teaspoonfuls in hot oil in frying pan. Cook until light brown, then turn over. Remove from oil and garnish with grated cheese, if desired.
Pink Stuff
1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk
1 large can crushed pineapple drained
1 can cherry pie filling
1 cup chopped pecans
Stir and fold in 1 medium tub of Cool Whip
Chill and serve
Wonderful for holiday dinners!

House Upon The Rock...
