    Ps 107:25; Neh 8:17-18

Psalm 107:25 King James Version (KJV)

25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

Psalm 107:25 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

25 At his command a storm arose,

     and waves covered the sea.

    These are my thoughts.

God has power over all creation from water to the spiritual storms in our lives.

Nehemiah 8:17-18 King James Version (KJV)

17 And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.

18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.

Nehemiah 8:17-18 Good News Translation (GNT)

17 All the people who had come back from captivity built shelters and lived in them. This was the first time it had been done since the days of Joshua son of Nun, and everybody was excited and happy. 18 From the first day of the festival to the last they read a part of God's Law every day. They celebrated for seven days, and on the eighth day there was a closing ceremony, as required in the Law.

17 This was not them having housing but them celebrating the feast of booths. They pitched tents to show as a reminder that God lead them as a people thru the wilderness. It also shows to trust God so that wandering around is the result of not having faith in the Lord and not letting Him lead us.

18 They kept it as God intended it to be done. It wasnt not meant to be a time of punishment but celebration and they did this part in honor to God.

    Ps 47:7; Es 1:10-12

Psalm 47:7 King James Version (KJV)

For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Psalm 47:7 Lexham English Bible (LEB)

For God is king of all the earth.
    Sing praises with understanding.

    These are my thoughts.

We should praise God understanding that He is Lord and our King and Master.

Esther 1:10-12 King James Version (KJV)

10 On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king,

11 To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on.

12 But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him.

Esther 1:10-12 Jubilee Bible 2000 (JUB)

10 ¶ On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven eunuchs that served in the presence of Ahasuerus, the king,

11 to bring Vashti, the queen, before the king with the crown of the kingdom, to show the people and the princes her beauty, for she was fair to behold.

12 But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s word by his eunuchs; therefore, the king was very wroth, and his anger burned in him.

10 The king may have been drunk or at least to the point where his judgment was clouded by the wine. We should not make decisions in clouded judgment. These eunuchs were his servants.

11 She was his wife. He may have been wanting more than her just appearing it maybe similar to her stripping or dancing for the crowd.

12 So the kings was angry, he could have put her to death for disobeying him. His pride was brought down which caused his anger.

    Ps 107:24; Neh 8:15-16

Psalm 107:24 King James Version (KJV)

24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

Psalm 107:24 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

24  and you saw the miracles
     the Lord performed there.

    These are my thoughts.

If we are watching we can see that God still does miracles today.

Nehemiah 8:15-16 King James Version (KJV)

15 And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.

16 So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim.

Nehemiah 8:15-16 Good News Translation (GNT)

15 So they gave the following instructions and sent them all through Jerusalem and the other cities and towns: “Go out to the hills and get branches from pines, olives, myrtles, palms, and other trees to make shelters according to the instructions written in the Law.”

16 So the people got branches and built shelters on the flat roofs of their houses, in their yards, in the Temple courtyard, and in the public squares by the Water Gate and by the Ephraim Gate.

15 We should receive our instructions both from God's word and from Godly counsel and leadership. He was simply instructing them thru God's word to do God's will, this is what preaching is meant to be, directing God's word on and into people's lives.

16 So they obeyed the commands of the Lord given by the law. This was to remind them of the time Israel had spent in the wilderness and was done during the feast of booths also known as Sukkot.

    Ps 46:6; Es 1:8-9

Psalm 46:6 King James Version (KJV)

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

Psalm 46:6 Lexham English Bible (LEB)

    Nations roar, kingdoms shake;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.

    These are my thoughts.

God's word has so much power.

Esther 1:8-9 King James Version (KJV)

And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure.

Also Vashti the queen made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to king Ahasuerus.

Esther 1:8-9 Jubilee Bible 2000 (JUB)

And the drink was according to this law: let no one constrain themselves; for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house that they should do according to the will of each one.

Likewise Vashti, the queen, made a banquet for the women in the royal house of King Ahasuerus.

8 This shows the king had respect for the Jews following the law God gave to Moses. Most leaders over time have refused to do this and try to bring down those who hold faith in God and the words of scripture.

9 So the king partied and so did the queen.

    These are my thoughts.

This means that we have the purpose to serve the Lord thru the great commission as long as we are here on earth.

Hebrews 3:7-8 King James Version (KJV)

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Hebrews 3:7-8 New Matthew Bible (NMB)

Therefore as the Holy Spirit says: Today if you hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the rebellion in the day of trial in the wilderness,

7 We need to be open and in a place to where we can hear from Holy Spirit.

8 We need dont need to make the mistake many do and harden their hearts against God but humbly obey Him. Hebrews is referring to the period Israel was wandering in the wilderness and how they had to wander for 40 years because of their lack of faith.
