    2 Corinthians 4:8,9

    8 We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair;

     9 pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed;

It is so nice to know that the world can try to throw everything it can at us and it is not enough because with God on our side who can stand against? Nobody.  My favorite verse of the Bible is Romans 8:31  What then shall we say about these things if God is for us who can be against us?  Nobody or no thing can stand against us EXCEPT ourselves.  Ourselves and our unbelief is the only thing can stop us.

8 He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, And the rod of his fury will be destroyed.

9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed; For he shares his food with the poor.

    Job 28:12-19

12: And the wisdom -- whence is it found? And where is this, the place of understanding?
13: Man hath not known its arrangement, Nor is it found in the land of the living.
14: The deep hath said, 'It is not in me,' And the sea hath said, 'It is not with me.'
15: Gold is not given for it, Nor is silver weighed -- its price.
16: It is not valued with pure gold of Ophir, With precious onyx and sapphire,
17: Not equal it do gold and crystal, Nor is its exchange a vessel of fine gold.
18: Corals and pearl are not remembered, The acquisition of wisdom is above rubies.
19: Not equal it doth the topaz of Cush, With pure gold it is not valued.

    Proverbs 22:6

6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

As parents we have a responsibility to teach our kids morals and discipline and the way of the Lord.  To many parents want to be the kids best friend instead of a parent.  There is a big difference.  Look at Lindsay Lohan, a perfect example of a kid allowed to go wild by parents without the spine bone to be real parents.  Being a parent is never easy, you have to find that right balance between push over and dictator.  Each parent has to find that parenting style that works best for them and their situation but I tell you this if you aint teaching your kids morals and discipline you are setting that kid up to fail in the real world.

    Proverbs 22:2-4

2 The rich and the poor have this in common: The Lord is the maker of them all.

3 A prudent man sees danger, and hides himself; But the simple pass on, and suffer for it.

4 The result of humility and the fear of the Lord Is wealth, honor, and life.

    1 Corinthians 15:33

33 Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.”

We are often the product of our environment including the people we spend time around.  Rather you realize it are not the people around us influences our lives rather good are bad.  These is especially true of young people who are more vulenable to peer presure.  When I was young I let the people around me talk me into some bad situations.  I am older now and a little bit wiser but I still realize if I aint careful the wrong people can still influence me.  We all have to spend time around sinners rather it is family or coworkers but we need to ensure that we are doing the influencing instead of the other way around.

    1 Corinthians 14:20

     20: Brethren, become not children in the understanding, but in the evil be ye babes, and in the understanding become ye perfect;

It is surprising how many Christians don't even have a basic knowledge of the Bible, they never read the Bible for themselves they just go along with what the pastor puts out every Sunday.  That is how so many people fall for false doctrine, they don't even know the difference between the truth and a lie.  I have a one year Bible.  It is broken down into days instead of chapters.  Each day you read that section for the day you are on.  It is so simple and only takes a few mintunes.  I have read the Bible several times that way.  All it takes is a little effort to learn the Bible and IT IS OUR DUTY AS CHRISTIANS TO KNOW THE WORD OF GOD.  It is our weapon against everything the devil throws at us.

    Psalm 34:1-10

1 I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth.

2 My soul shall boast in the Lord. The humble shall hear of it, and be glad.

3 Oh magnify the Lord with me. Let us exalt his name together.

4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.

5 They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame.

6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the Lord encamps round about those who fear him, And delivers them.

8 Oh taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

9 Oh fear the Lord, you his saints, For there is no lack with those who fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

    Psalm 33:12-22

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.

13 The Lord looks from heaven. He sees all the sons of men.

14 From the place of his habitation he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth,

15 He who fashions all of their hearts; And he considers all of their works.

16 There is no king saved by the multitude of a host. A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

17 A horse is a vain thing for safety, Neither does he deliver any by his great power.

    18 Behold, the Lord's eye is on those who fear him, On those who hope in his loving kindness;

19 To deliver their soul from death, To keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul has waited for the Lord. He is our help and our shield.

21 For our heart rejoices in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name.

22 Let your loving kindness be on us, O Lord, Since we have hoped in you.

8 The way of the guilty is devious, But the conduct of the innocent is upright.

9 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than to share a house with a contentious woman.

10 The soul of the wicked desires evil; His neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes.

    Psalm 32:8,9

Psalm 32:8 The Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.  I will advise you and watch over you.

    9.  Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.

There are so many people just drifting thru life with no sense of purpose or being but as Christians we know we have a direction and a purpose.  We have all worried at some point about where life is taking us but we know as Christians God as a plan for our lives and if we are faithful and trust in God it will all unfold according to God's plan for us.  I believe there is two paths before all of us, the path that God has planned for us or we can try to go our own way that is contrary to God's will that leads to heartbreak and death.

    Psalm 30

1 I will extol you, Lord, for you have raised me up, And have not made my foes to rejoice over me.

O Lord my God, I cried to you,

    And you have healed me.

3 O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol. You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

4 Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of his. Give thanks to his holy name.

5 For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a lifetime.

Weeping may stay for the night, But joy comes in the morning.

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”

7 You, O Lord, when you favored me, made my mountain to stand strong. But when you hid your face, I was troubled.

8 I cried to you, O Lord. To O Lord I made supplication:

9 “What profit is there in my destruction, if I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? Shall it declare your truth?

10 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me. O Lord, be my helper.”

11 You have turned my mourning into dancing for me. You have removed my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness,

12 To the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent.

O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

    1 Corinthians 3:18-20

18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.” 20 And again, “The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.”

Do you realize how arrogrant mankind must seem to God.  Mankind has advanced far in this world and it has made us arrogrant, so arrogrant that we think we don't need a God.  We think we have all the answers.  God must set in Heaven and laugh at mankind about how foolish we really are.  Kinda of reminds me of my teenager, now that he has graduated he thinks he has all the answers, he just don't know, he is about to meet the real world head on.

    1 Corinthians 2:14

1 Corinthians 2:14 But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's spirit.  It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

Only a spiritual mind can understand the ways of God.  Mankind can't understand God because they try to understand the being of God with a human mind.  Believing in God is a matter of faith pure and simple.  You will never find God in a science book or on most college campuses.  You can only come to God by believing with a pure heart.

    1 Corinthians 1:20-25

20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe. 22 For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble; 27 but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; 28 and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are:

Believing in God is a matter of faith.  No one has ever come to the Lord by trying to rationalize the being of a God.  People come to the Lord by being showed the Lord thru our lives as Christians.  As a Christian I see God all around me thru the events in my life that I can look back and see the hand of the Lord in.  I see God in the gifts from God I call my children.  I see God in the stars, the moon, the sun, in nature.  As a Christian I see the hand of God all around me.  But the unbelievers out there can't believe in God because they are blinded by their own wisdom.  They have to have an scientific explanation for everything.  Some things in these world just can't be explain, at least by us, but that aint good enough for them.  They have come up with the big bang theory and evoloution.  Which to me sounds more crazy than anything in the Bible.  If you want to believe you evolved from a monkey go ahead but I think more highly of myself because I know that I am a son of God.

    Psalm 27;1-6

The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When evil-doers came at me to eat up my flesh, Even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear.

Though war should rise against me, Even then I will be confident.

4 One thing I have asked of the Lord, that I will seek after, That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To see the Lord's beauty, And to inquire in his temple.

5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the covert of his tent he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.

6 Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me.

I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

    Romans 16:17,18

Romans 16:17 And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters.  Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people's faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught.  Stay away from them.

    18.  Such people are not serving Christ our lord; they are serving their own personal intersets.  By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people.

These is going on in a lot of main stream churches.  They are ignoring certain scriptures or changing them to be poltically correct, to be acceptable to mainstream society on certain issues such as gay marriages, gay clergy, abortion and other hot issues.  They are trying to please mankind and their own political beliefs.  A lot of churches are missing a spine bone to stand up for their beliefs.

    Psalm 25:1-15

1 To you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

2 My God, I have trusted in you, Don’t let me be shamed. Don’t let my enemies triumph over me.

3 Yes, no one who waits for you shall be shamed. They shall be shamed who deal treacherously without cause.

4 Show me your ways, O Lord. Teach me your paths.

5 Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long.

6 O Lord, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, For they are from old times.

7 Don’t remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Remember me according to your loving kindness, For your goodness’ sake, O Lord.

8 Good and upright is the Lord, Therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.

9 He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way.

10 All the paths of the Lord are loving kindness and truth To such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For your name’s sake, O Lord, Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.

12 What man is he who fears the Lord? He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose.

13 His soul shall dwell at ease. His seed shall inherit the land.

14 The friendship of the Lord is with those who fear him. He will show them his covenant.

15 My eyes are ever on the Lord, For he will pluck my feet out of the net.

    Psalm 24

1 The earth is the Lord's, with its fullness; The world, and those who dwell therein.

2 For he has founded it on the seas, And established it on the floods.

3 Who may ascend to the Lord's hill? Who may stand in his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart; Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, And has not sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive a blessing from the Lord, Righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek your face — even Jacob.

    Selah.

7 Lift up your heads, you gates; Be lifted up, you everlasting doors: The King of glory will come in.

8 Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, you gates; Yes, lift them up, you everlasting doors: The King of glory will come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of Hosts, He is the King of glory.

    Selah.
