    Psalm 103

     1: Give praise to the Lord, O my soul; let everything in me give praise to his holy name.
       2: Give praise to the Lord, O my soul; let not all his blessings go from your memory.
       3: He has forgiveness for all your sins; he takes away all your diseases;
       4: He keeps back your life from destruction, crowning you with mercy and grace.
       5: He makes your mouth full of good things, so that your strength is made new again like the eagle's.
       6: The Lord gives decisions in righteousness for all who are in trouble.
       7: He gave knowledge of his way to Moses, and made his acts clear to the children of Israel.
       8: The Lord is kind and full of pity, not quickly made angry, but ever ready to have mercy.
       9: His feeling will no longer be bitter; he will not keep his wrath for ever.
       10: He has not given us the punishment for our sins, or the reward of our wrongdoing.
       11: For as the heaven is high over the earth, so great is his mercy to his worshippers.
       12: As far as the east is from the west, so far has he put our sins from us.
       13: As a father has pity on his children, so the Lord has pity on his worshippers.
       14: For he has knowledge of our feeble frame; he sees that we are only dust.
       15: As for man, his days are as grass: his beautiful growth is like the flower of the field.
       16: The wind goes over it and it is gone; and its place sees it no longer.
       17: But the mercy of the Lord is eternal for his worshippers, and their children's children will see his righteousness;
       18: If they keep his agreement, and have his laws in mind to do them.
       19: The Lord has made ready his high seat in the heavens; his kingdom is ruling over all.
       20: Give praise to the Lord, you his angels, who are great in strength, doing his orders, and waiting for his voice.
       21: Give praise to the Lord, all you his armies; and you his servants who do his pleasure.
       22: Give praise to the Lord, all his works, in all places under his rule: give praise to the Lord, O my soul.

    Proverbs 26:21,22

    Proverbs 26:21 A quarrelsome person starts fights as easily as hot embers light charcoal or fire lights wood.

    22.  Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one's heart.

    1 Timothy 5:1,2

    1 Timothy 5:1  Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father.  Talk to younger men as you would to your own brother.

    2.  Treat older women as you would your mother, .and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.

    This is something that has been lost in our modern society.  Most people are more likely to teach their kids to resist authority instead of respect authority.  We see it in our schools, at work, with the law.  Most kids are not even taught to respect their parents.  If you want your kids to go up to be good respectful adults you have to teach them discipline and respect of others is one of the starting points for that.

    Proverbs 25:21,22

    21 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; If he is thirsty, give him water to drink:

    22 For you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the Lord will reward you.

    As Christians we have a lot of eniemies in the world and in the media.  We are always being attacked by the liberal media and celebrities but the worst thing we can do is sink to that level.  We shouldn't back down from what we believe in but we shouldn't resort to name calling and mud slinging.  Just keeping spreading the true word of God without compromise and pray for those lost, hateful souls that have so much hate in their heart for what we believe in.  They will answer to God for their attacks on him and us.

    Proverbs 25: 18,19

    Proverbs 25:18 Telling lies about others is as harmful as hitting them with an ax, wounding them with a sword, or shooting them with a sharp arrow.

    19.  Putting confidence in an unreliable person in times of trouble is like chewing with a broken tooth or walking on a lame foot.

    Psalm 86:11-13

    11 Teach me your way, O Lord. I will walk in your truth. Make my heart undivided to fear your name.

    12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with my whole heart. I will glorify your name forevermore.

    13 For your loving kindness is great toward me. You have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.

    Psalm 85: 8-13

    8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak, For he will speak peace to his people, his saints; But let them not turn again to folly.

    9 Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, That glory may dwell in our land.

    10 Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

    11 Truth springs out of the earth. Righteousness has looked down from heaven.

    12 Yes, the Lord will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase.

    13 Righteousness goes before him, And prepares the way for his steps.

    11 To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith, with power;

    12 that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

    1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

    1 Thessalonians 5:16  Always be joyful.

    17. Never stop praying.

    18. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

    We know life sometimes gets us down but God says we should always be joyful.  Why?  Because we know life's trials are temporary and we have a God that is always watching out for us.  If he has his eye on the lowly sparrow surely he has his eye on us.  Whenever we are going thru hard times just remember it is temporary, God is always with us, and no matter what may happen here on Earth our reward is in heavan.  Sometimes we allow the little things in life to cosume all of attention and we take our eyes off of these facts.

    1 Thessalonians 4:11,12

    11: And that you may take pride in being quiet and doing your business, working with your hands as we gave you orders;
    12: That you may be respected by those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.

    One type of people I have no respect for is people who like to brag about themselves.  I can't stand to watch sports and listen to some guy brag about how good he is.  As Christians we are taught to be humble because we know everything we have is a gift from God.  Brag about yourself and you are setting yourself up for an embrassing fall.

    1 Thessalonians 2: 4-6

    1 Thessalonians 2: 4  For we speak as messangers approved by God to be entrusted with the good news.  Our purpose is to please God, not people.  He alone examines the motives of our hearts.

    5.  Never once did we try to win you with flattery, as you well know.  And God is our witness that we were not pretending to be your friends just to get your money.

    6.  As for human praise, we have never sought it from you or anyone else.

    As Christians we have to be people of principal.  We have to live by a set of standards, and of course those standards are found in the Bible.  And one of those standards is that we are not be men-pleasers, in other words butt kissers, suck ups, yes men, how ever you want to put it.  Yes men tell people what they want to hear and not the cold hard truth.  And right now this world needs to hear the hard truth about things.  And that is that this world is in a moral decline, that God does dissapprove of certain lifestyles and if you say other wise you are distorting the word of God into a lie.

    Colossians 3:22-25

    22 Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

    23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,

    24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

    25 But he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.

    I say most of us probarly hate working and our jobs but like I said before we are representing God.  If we go to work and complain, whine and are just lazy and our fellow workers know we are Christians that reflects bad on God.  People begin to say look at Steve, some Christian he is all he does is whine and be lazy.  It is all a matter of having a set of standards to live your life by.  Nothing drives me more crazy than to listen to someone complain about how bad there life is but they have never gotten off ther butts to do anything about it.  Don't blame God or anybody else if you are to lazy to do something about it.

    Colossians 3:17

    Colossians 3:17  And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

    We represent God 24 hours a day as Christians, that means we are representing God at work, school, home, hanging out with friends.  There was a recent poll done that showed must people approve of Christanity but not Christians.  The truth is to many people that claim to be Christians don't represent a good godly image.  We have pastors in the news for committing adultry, theft, fraud, robbing their own church and its members.  We have to clean up our own act.  We are the only Bible some people will ever read, make sure they are getting the right version, take pride in representing our Father.

    Colossians 2:8

    Colossians 2:8  Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.

    We know there are some nonsense theories and beliefs out there.  Evolution-the world is just a series of accidents and we evolved from monkeys.  Different off the wall religions-Kirballa, Scientology and other new age beliefs.  And there are some crazy beliefs that come out of the Christian side of the house.  I know I am going to step on some toes here.  But all lot of people want to spend time on Revelations and the end times and there are a lot of different theories.  I say so what.  The end is going to happen and we have no control over it.  What we do have control over is now.  We can be winning souls to Christ and raising a good Christian family and living a good Christian life and living as an example to others.  Instead of Christians being divided over events we have no control over.

    Colossians 2:6,7

    Colossians 2:6  And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.

    7.  Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him.  Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

    The tallest tree is weak without good strong roots built into good solid soil.  For our faith to grow strong we have to put down some good solid roots in the Lord.  We have to get down deep into the word of God.  One of the saddest things to see is a Christian especially a long time Christian that doesn't know the Bible because they have never took the time to study the Bible.  To be frank that is just laziness and is contrary to the will of God because the Bible commands several times for us to learn the word of God.  These are Christians without strong roots that blow over whenever a strong storm comes along.  They collapes under the pressure because there faith is weak.

    Colossians 1:16

    16 For by him were all things created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him.

    We often look around at the world and see dicators in power, corrupt politicians, greedy people running corporations and wonder why they seem to get away with it.  Well God is in control and even though it is hard for us to understand, everything has a purpose and a season.  The Bible says there is a season for everything.  In the Old Testament God would build up kingdoms just to destroy them as an example to others or he would use one kingdom to punish the other including the Hebrews whenever they rebelled against God.  We just have to be patient and remember God is in control, we don't know what is going on behind the scenes but there is purpose for everything.  That includes Usama Bin Laden, the Taliban and Iran and all the other evil people and governments in this world.

    Philippians 4:6

    6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

    How hard is it really for most of us to never be anxious or worry.  It is pretty hard actually but that is where faith comes into play.  When we are close to God our faith is strong.  It is when we take our eyes off of God and let the cares and worries of the world distract us that anxiety begins to build.  Things begin to look to tough, dreams to impossible, small issues become major mountains.  That is what the devil wants, he wants us distracted over everyday little issues and distracted from God.  Don't give the devil a foothold, don't allow yourself to be overcome by the little things.  As the Bible says God cares about the smallest sparrow surely he hasn't forgotten us.

    Philippians 3:18,19

    18: For there are those, of whom I have given you word before, and do so now with sorrow, who are haters of the cross of Christ;
    19: Whose end is destruction, whose god is the stomach, and whose glory is in their shame, whose minds are fixed on the things of the earth.

    Nothing drives me more crazy than turn on the news and hearing about another Hollywood figure make a fool of themselves.  They are all about living a life in the spotlight but often make fools of themselves in that same spotlight.  I think everbody in the world has seen Brittney's bare butt on TV, is ther any wonder the court took her kids.  It is the same type of people who are haters of the cross because we dare to call them on their corrupt lifestyles.  Think about all the hatred directed toward Christanity but they are so politically correct toward other religious groups in these country.  Why?  Because we dare to call them on their decadent lifestyles.
