    Psalm 119:129,130

    129 Your laws are wonderful.
          No wonder I obey them!
130 The teaching of your word gives light,
so even the simple can understand.

One thing that troubles me is when I hear Christians say they don't believe the Bible is the true word of God or they cherry pick certain parts of it.  One guy made a statement that he only reads the Gospels and not the books of Paul because Paul hadn't been with Christ.  Well the majority of the Bible is written by people who hadn't been with Christ.  You really have to wonder where there foundation in Christ is.  A woman I know who is a liberal Christian who also doesn't believe the Bible is the true word of God says she goes with what feels right in her heart. The problem with that is what if you don't have a good heart?

    Psalm 119:117,118

    117 Sustain me, and I will be rescued;
then I will meditate continually on your decrees.
118 But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees.
          They are only fooling themselves.

So much falsehood has been allowed to creep its way into the church, that is why it is so important for Christians to study the word of God for themselves.  There are so many preachers preaching an political agenda or personal agenda instead of the word of God.

    Proverbs 16:9

9 A man’s heart plans his course, But Yahweh directs his steps.

I believe God has a purpose for each and every one of his children.  I believe in free will but I also believe God sets things up in our life to guide us in the direction he wants us to head.  We can be faithful and know the will of God or go against God's will and head in our own direction and bear the consequences.  I believe the Bible, God's word, is our manuel for understanding God's will in our life.  And then there are times when we need to pray and ask God to show us the direction he wants us to head.  There are things that happen in my life that I didn't understand at the time.  But I look back now and see God's hand at work.  My career has caused me to move several times and each time I have moved I have meet new people and new preachers that have helped to shape my spiritual growth.

    John 17:14-16

14 I have given them your word. The world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.

16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.

We have to be part of the world physically but we shouldn't be part of the world emotionally or spiritually.  To many Christians try to live with one foot in the church door and one out. It doesn't work.  Jesus said you can't serve two masters.  You have to decide which world you want to live in.  The world God has chosen for you or this sinful un-Godly world.  you can't choose both.

    John 16:9

9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. (NLT)

This world is going to be judged because of its unbelief.  Not just its unbelief but its outright rebellion to God.  And there are people in the church who are walking a dangerous line.  I read a blog earlier on another site by a woman who claims to be a Christian but doesn't believe anything written in the Bible.  She has to be the most confused person I ever meet.  To many Christians are trying to walk the fence.  They are scared by words like judgment and sin, afraid of offending someone.  Afraid of  being an outcast to society.  Well we know we can't serve two masters.  We are involved in spiritual warfare with no neutrals and no mediators.  Jesus said those who aint with him is against him.

    John 15:18,19

18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.

19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Why does the world hate us?  Simple answer is we are children of God and they are children of Satan.  They really don't even know why they do hate us.  If you ask one of these militant atheist they would make all kinds of claims of intolerance and atrocities committed by the church and that we are trying to push an agenda one them.  Well there are some people who claim to be Christian who can be pretty hateful and if you look at history there are some bad things that happened by bad men who did bad things in the name of God.  But the average Christian doesn't fit into any of these situations.  If they don't believe all they have to do is not believe and live their life but yet they feel compell to act out against Christanity.  The average atheist can even give a real answer to why they hate Christanity.  The truth is they are being used as pawns by the god of this world, Satan.

    John 14:16-21

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. 18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. 19 Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. 20 When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”

The world doesn't know God because they don't how to look for God.  One of the biggest arguments I hear from non-believers is there is no evidence that God exist.  Well of course there is they just refuse to admit it.  You won't find God in a science book but Christians know God exist because he exist in our heart.  No matter what kind of argument you present to a hardcore non-believer he wont believe unless he opens his heart a little.  Most of these hard types refuse to hear any kind of arguments against their non-belief.  They have allowed their eyes to blinded and their hearts closed by Satan.  Of course they don't want to hear that.  They claim they are just to enlighten to believe in fairy tales.  Yet they have created their own fairy tales to explain the creation of the world.  The Biblical story of creation takes a lot of faith to believe but I have an easier time believing in that then a bunch of dust and particles exploded in space to create the earth and that we all evolved from primates.  The sad truth is it is just another chapter in a long history of rebellion against God.

    Psalm 119:1-16

1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, Who walk according to Yaweh’s law.

2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes, Who seek him with their whole heart.

3 Yes, they do nothing wrong. They walk in his ways.

4 You have commanded your precepts, That we should fully obey them.

5 Oh that my ways were steadfast To obey your statutes!

6 Then I wouldn’t be disappointed, When I consider all of your commandments.

7 I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart, When I learn your righteous judgments.

8 I will observe your statutes. Don’t utterly forsake me

9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

10 With my whole heart, I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your commandments.

11 I have hidden your word in my heart, That I might not sin against you.

12 Blessed are you, Yahweh. Teach me your statutes.

13 With my lips, I have declared all the ordinances of your mouth.

14 I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, As much as in all riches.

15 I will meditate on your precepts, And consider your ways.

16 I will delight myself in your statutes. I will not forget your word.

    John 12:25

25 He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.

When we become Christians God expects us to let go of our old life but to many people want it both ways.  They want to be Christians and still hold on to their old worldly life and views.  They want to worship God on their terms and change God into their image.  This is how different doctrines get born with no Biblical basis.  Some how fundamental has become a bad word in society and there has been a few people that has given the word a bad name  but I believe the Church has to get back to the fundamental truths of the Bible and live all the new age liberal thinking outside where it belongs.

7 Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me.
I will look in triumph at those who hate me.

    Proverbs 15:23

23 Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time!

Words are such powerful things they can bring life or death, love or hate, they can start wars or bring peace.  For such powerful little things we throw them around so easily.  We know the word of God can bring salvation from eternal death and pain.  With a few careless words we can drive people away from that salvation.

    John 10:25-27

25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.

26 But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Christians know Jesus is real because they hear his voice.  How do they hear his voice?  I hear Jesus voice in the Bible I read, I feel God's presence when I pray, I see God in the creation of his world all around me, I see God's hands in the events that have happened in my life.  Unbelievers don't hear his voice because they refuse to open their eyes to the truth all around them.  God's presence is all around if they would open their hearts and minds.  But they have allowed the enemy to blind their hearts and harded their hearts to anything except their narrow concept of the world.  You want find God in any science book written by other narrow minded men.

    John 10:1-5

1 “Most assuredly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. 4 Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”

Even within the Protestant churches there are many different beliefs.  I don't get all wrapped in different demontional beliefs.  I have attended many different churches in my time, Baptist, Pentacostal, Methodist, I currently attend an Assemblies of God church.  My career has caused me to move a lot and ever time I move I have to find a new church.  As long as the church preaches the fundamental truths of Jesus and has a good God fearing preacher I will attend.  These truths are that Jesus is the son of God born of a virgin, he died for our sins on the cross and was raised on the third day and he will come again, as long as they don't condone anything sinful everything else just doctrinal differences to me.  And I know there are people who say if they don't believe in such or such they are sinners.  There are people who judge people because they have a different interpertation of Revelations than they do.  That is so judgmental in my view, who says you are interpeting it right.  All of this infighting just gives Christians a bad name to unbelievers.  But there are also false teachers out there that preach things contrary to the Bible.  That is why we must know God's word for ourselves, we must know the word's of Jesus so we aint lead astray.

39 Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.”

The Jewish leaders were so arrogant and there hearts so harded that they couldn't see the truth.  Jesus worked miracles in front of them and spoke the word of God into their very ears but they refused to believe.  Well we still have people today blinded by arrogance.  They refused to admit they could be wrong and open the minds to the truth.  If a person hardens their heart to accept anything contrary to what they have been taught, it is very hard to break thru to them but we know with God all things are possible

31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples.

One argument that is going around right now is atheist trying to say Hitler was a Christian, which is just a stupid statement to make.  A Christian is someone that has been saved by the blood of Christ and follows the teaches of Christ.  Since neither apply to Hitler it is just more atheist garbage.  You can tell a true Christian by the way they live their life.  If it doesn't reflect the love of Christ than may be they don't really have Christ in their life.  A lot of people claim to be Christian for political or society reasons.  If they haven't asked for forgiveness of their sins and asked Christ into their lives and lived according to the teachings of Christ then they aint a true Christian.  And your parents being Christian and you being raised in a Christian home don't count.  It's an individual act we all must do.

    Psalm 111:10

10 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.
All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom, not the wisdom of the world.  Man has convinced himself he has all the answers that he don't need a God.  He has even tried to prove that God is a fantasy.  What man doesn't realized is that they have been blinded by the ruler of this world, Satan.  It is pure and simple arrogrance.  Ever talk to an atheist, they just smack of arrogrance.  They have convinced themselves they are smarter than all of us dumb, uneducated Christians because they have been "enlightened" by education.  Well a lot of us have an education to and I have never find anything in a college book that convinced me that there is no God.  When ever I need a little remembering I walk outside at night and look at all them stars.  I have a hard time believing that all of that was just a series of accidents.  Or look at human history itself.  I can't believe that man evolved from the animal kingdom after coming so far to where we can even travel in space.  If evolution is a fact why hasn't any other animals come even close to catching up with us.  I just don't buy it.  I'll stick to Godly wisdom.

    John 7:1-7

1 After these things, Jesus was walking in Galilee, for he wouldn’t walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him. 2 Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was at hand. 3 His brothers therefore said to him, “Depart from here, and go into Judea, that your disciples also may see your works which you do. 4 For no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, reveal yourself to the world.” 5 For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.

6 Jesus therefore said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. 7 The world can’t hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.

Why did the Jewish leaders hate and want to kill Jesus?  Because he was exposing their wickedness.  At this time leadership of the Jews were in the hands of corrupt people and Jesus threaten their way of life.  Jesus performed miracles fall all to see including them and they refused to believe in him.  They accussed him of blasphemy, being a servant of Satan, breaking the Sabbath.  In truth they feared losing their hold on power.  You can read in the Old Testament of the prophets that were persucted and killed for delivering God's word to wicked leaders and uncaring people.  Well things aint changed today.  People don't want to be bothered with God's word.  Anybody that trys to proclaim God's word is declared crazy or stupid for believing in fairy tales.  Well the world hated Christ and they will hate us for once again exposing their corrupt wicked lifestyle but we have an obligation we must meet to live a Christian life and proclaim God's word to the world whether they want to hear it or not.  Christ didn't back down and neither will we.

2 Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out!
Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.

We have an obligation to the lost of the world to tell them of the love of Christ and that there is a better way.  We should do it in a loving way without being judgmental or overbearing.  To many Christians want to throw their beliefs in somebody face and try to push the Bible down their throats.  I know before I became a Christian that would drive me away more than anything.  Studies have showed that most people come to know Christ thru a personal friendly relationship with a Christian such as coworkers, schoolmates, neighbors, and family.  For me it was my grandfather.  They way you live your life in front of this circle of influence can be the biggest witness of all.  As the saying goes "the only Bible some people will ever read is you."

My career has taken me to many parts of the world and at first I was really shock to learn how people in other countries perceive Americans.  When they think of Americans they think of Hollywood, wild living, and immoral culture and of course a lot see us as bullys because of our military actions in the Middle East.  Most of what they see of America is usually portrayed by Hollywood in movies.  It really is shameful we have let Hollywood be the one that decides how the world see us.  It would be nice if we were a light unto the rest of the world but unfortunaly the decadent lifestyles of a few gets more attention than the millions of God fearing honest Americans.

There are a lot of people who have spent a lot of time getting an education and are still foolish.  They have convinced themselves they have the answers and anybody that doesn't agree with them is wrong and should be silenced for being wrong.  The wisdom of the world has blinded their minds to the Biblical truth.  They are pawns of Satan that have been convinced that they must stop Christanity because Christanity has all the wrong answers.  They are foolish pawns involved in a battle that has been going on for thousands of years.  Thank God we know who has the final victory.

44 No wonder you can’t believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don’t care about the honor that comes from the one who alone is God.

It is funny to talk to atheist.  They make fun of Christians for speaking out of an old book as they call it and speaking of people who lived 2000 years ago but yet are quick to sing the praises of Darwin and Hutchinson and brag about their own education.  Well I aint impress.  I'v been to college to and was taught by other men who had their flaws.  The Bible says the wisdom of man is what makes him foolish.  We have convince ourselves we have all the answers and don't need God.  Yet throw some really hard questions at them and they get very combative.  I think I will continue to honor God over other men who don't have all the answers just think that they do.  I think I will continue to sing the praises of God over Darwin, the hero of atheism.

25 There is the sea, great and wide, In which are innumerable living things, Both small and large animals.

26 There the ships go, And leviathan, whom you formed to play there.

19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.

20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.

21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”

Why do people hate God so much, because if they admit their is a God than they have to admit they are not living right.  They would rather do their own thing and live life according to their own desires.  It is called rebellion.  One of the oldest sins recorded in the Bible.  Think about it, if they didn't believe then fine, live life without believing but instead they actively attack Christanity because they are scared they are wrong and may face the judgement they so fear.

We all have our weaknesses.  The things we are proned to fall into.  Greed, pride, anger, lust of the flesh.  We are weak sinful human beings but with Christ we have strenght to stand up to the temptations we easily fall into.  That strenght comes from faith and faith from hearing the word of God.  We are strong when we stay focused on the things of God, we become weak when we lose focus and starting paying attention to the things of the world.

    Proverbs 14:15

15 A simple man believes everything, But the prudent man carefully considers his ways.

It is amazing how many Christians never read their Bible for themselves they just accept what their pastor says because they don't know the Bible for themselves or they do read the Bible and compelety don't understand what it says.  People fall into false beliefs because they don't know enough to challenge what is being taught or don't understand what is being taught.  Oprah Winfrey's spritual teachings are full of falsehoods.  There is only one way to heaven and it is thru Jesus Christ, contrary to what she teaches which is there are many ways to heaven.  And the sad truth is a lot of Christians have fallen for these false teaching because of the influence of Oprah.

The prosperty movement is full of falsehoods.  The Bible teaches against pursuing worldly treasures and the blessing of God are not for sale.  If a preacher every tells you have to give a "love offering" to receive a blessing he is a liar.  You need to ask him whose pocket that love offering is going into.

We are not under the Old Testament law like some have taught, we are under the New Covenant established by Jesus Christ.

There are many different beliefs out there.  Some are true and some are not and some are just crazy.  Read the Bible for yourself to learn what the truth is.
