    Psalm 148

    1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens! Praise him in the heights!

    2 Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all his host!

    3 Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars!

    4 Praise him, you heavens of heavens, You waters that are above the heavens.

    5 Let them praise the name of the Lord, For he commanded, and they were created.

    6 He has also established them forever and ever. He has made a decree which will not pass away.

    7 Praise the Lord from the earth, You great sea creatures, and all depths!

    8 Lightning and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind, fulfilling his word;

    9 Mountains and all hills; Fruit trees and all cedars;

    10 Wild animals and all cattle; Small creatures and flying birds;

    11 Kings of the earth and all peoples; Princes and all judges of the earth;

    12 Both young men and maidens; Old men and children:

    13 Let them praise the name of the Lord, For his name alone is exalted. His glory is above the earth and the heavens.

    14 He has lifted up the horn of his people, The praise of all his saints; Even of the children of Israel, a people near to him.

    Praise the Lord!

    Psalm 147:8-11

    8 Who covers the sky with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass grow on the mountains.

    9 He provides food for the cattle, And for the young ravens when they call.

    10 He doesn’t delight in the strength of the horse. He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.

    11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, In those who hope in his loving kindness.

    Psalm 146

    1 Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, my soul.

    2 While I live, I will praise the Lord. I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.

    3 Don’t put your trust in princes, Each a son of man in whom there is no help.

    4 His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish.

    5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord, his God:

    6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever;

    7 Who executes justice for the oppressed; Who gives food to the hungry.

    the Lord frees the prisoners.

    The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises up those who are bowed down. The Lord loves the righteous.

    9 The Lord preserves the foreigners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, But the way of the wicked he turns upside down.

    10 The Lord will reign forever; Your God, O Zion, to all generations.

    Praise the Lord

    Psalm 145

    1 I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever.

    2 Every day I will praise you. I will extol your name forever and ever.

    3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised! His greatness is unsearchable.

    4 One generation will commend your works to another, And will declare your mighty acts.

    5 Of the glorious majesty of your honor, Of your wondrous works, I will meditate.

    6 Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness.

    7 They will utter the memory of your great goodness, And will sing of your righteousness.

    The Lord is gracious, merciful, Slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.

    The Lord is good to all. His tender mercies are over all his works.

    10 All your works will give thanks to you, Lord. Your saints will extol you.

    11 They will speak of the glory of your kingdom, And talk about your power;

    12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, The glory of the majesty of his kingdom.

    13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

    14 The Lord upholds all who fall, And raises up all those who are bowed down.

    15 The eyes of all wait for you. You give them their food in due season.

    16 You open your hand, And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

    17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, And gracious in all his works.

    18 The Lord is near to all those who call on him, To all who call on him in truth.

    19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them.

    20 The Lord preserves all those who love him, But all the wicked he will destroy.

    21 My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord. Let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

    Proverbs 17: 27,28

    27 He who spares his words has knowledge. He who is even tempered is a man of understanding.

    28  Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise. When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.

    This is a lesson I am still learning.  Yesterday I got angry about something trival and lost my cool in front of my kids.  We all hate to look foolish but I really hate looking foolish in front of my kids.  I am still working on controlling my tongue.

    Psalm 143: 6-8

    143:6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.

    143:7 Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

    143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

    Psalm 142

    1 I cry with my voice to the Lord. With my voice, I ask the Lord for mercy.

    2 I pour out my complaint before him. I tell him my troubles.

    3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, You knew my path.

    In the way in which I walk, They have hidden a snare for me.

    4 Look on my right, and see; For there is no one who is concerned for me. Refuge has fled from me. No one cares for my soul.

    5 I cried to you, O Lord. I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.”

    6 Listen to my cry, For I am in desperate need.

    Deliver me from my persecutors, For they are stronger than me.

    7 Bring my soul out of prison, That I may give thanks to your name.

    The righteous will surround me, For you will be good to me.

    Psalm 141:1-5

         1 O LORD, I call to you; come quickly to me.
           Hear my voice when I call to you.

        2 May my prayer be set before you like incense;
           may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

        3 Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD;
           keep watch over the door of my lips.

        4 Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil,
           to take part in wicked deeds
           with men who are evildoers;
           let me not eat of their delicacies.

        5 Let a righteous man  strike me—it is a kindness;
           let him rebuke me—it is oil on my head.
           My head will not refuse it.
           Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers;

    Proverbs 17:19

    Proverbs 17:19 Anyone who loves stife loves sin; anyone who trusts in high walls invites disaters.

    I am sure we all have known somebody that justs loves trumoil, that always seems to be in a little dispute with someone.  Some people strive off of drama, always think they have something to prove.  I had a guy that worked from me, he was a small guy, maybe weighed 130 lbs but walked around like he was 7ft tall and 300 lbs always talking about who's butt he was going kicked.  He wasn't fooling anyone he thought he had to prove himself because he was a small guy but he ended up making himself look foolish.  I understand, I am a small guy myself but I always went with the concept that it is better to have friends than enemies.  When I was in high high school I got along with everybody from different cliques, I didn't try to fit in I just did because I was able to get along with everybody.  To many times we build up our own barriers, we think we are to good for somebody else or they are to good for us, remember Jesus was criticased for eating with sinners, taking water from a prosititute, having his feet washed by a woman of poor reputation but he didn't judged he showed love to all of them and accepeted them.

    Proverbs 17:14

    The beginning of strife is like breaching a dam, Therefore stop contention before quarreling breaks out.

    Once harsh words have been said and feelings have been hurt it is hard to end a quarrell, especially between people who were once close.  If a stranger calls us a name most time it aint going to mean anything but if we are called a hurtful name by someone close it really stings.  Simple words are have so much power.  The power to bring love or hate, peace or strife, life or death.  I have been thinking of a close friend I had in high school and how things ended bad between us because of a few harsh words in the heat of the moment.  I have talked to this person since then but it was akward, that closeness is no longer there.  That is the power of a few simple words.  A few simple words can destroy what was a close friendship.

    Proverbs 17:9

    Proverbs 17:9 Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it seperates close friends.

    We all have been wronged by someone in our lives, close friends, family, it hurts the most when it is someone close to us.  I have two sisters, neither one of them talk to our father anymore because of something small that just snowballed out of control, it has been years now and nobody wants to step forward to put this behind them.  A close family relationship has been destroyed because nobody wants to make a step toward forgiveness.  Nobody wants to swallow their pride and admit they was wrong.  It is all silly except you got grandkids not getting the chance to know their grandfather.  How do you think they will feel if something happens to him before they make up?  It will be to late then.  Not to brag but I have never been a person to hold a grudge.  Life is to short to dwell on petty stuff.  That hate just builds in your soul until it consumes you, it just aint worth it.  This is something we will all go thru.  If you are close to someone sooner or later they are going to do something to upset you.  We can let it destroy a relationship or we can show God's love and show forgiveness, because God doesn't hold grudges that is why we have salvation.  We would all be doomed if God held grudges.

    Proverbs 17:3

    The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, But God tests the hearts.

    We are going to go thru trials and tribulations, that is how God tests our hearts.  If we have a good strong base in God we will past all tests of our faith and come out stronger in God.  If we are weak in faith we may flounder a little bit but God will never let us sink.  In our darkest days God may seem far away but we know he is always with us.  The Bible says he will never leave us or forsake us.

    Psalm 128

    Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, Who walks in his ways.

    2 For you will eat the labor of your hands. You will be happy, and it will be well with you.

    3 Your wife will be as a fruitful vine, In the innermost parts of your house; Your children like olive plants, Around your table.

    4 Behold, thus is the man blessed who fears the Lord.

    5 May the Lord bless you out of Zion, And may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

    6 Yes, may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel.

    1. Unless God builds the house, They labor in vain who build it. Unless God watches over the city, The watchman guards it in vain.

    2. It is vain for you to rise up early, To stay up late, Eating the bread of toil; For he gives sleep to his loved ones.

    Unless God builds the house it is in vain.  We are talking about a home. Unless God is in your life it is in vain.  Your home is going to fall apart.  You might weather the first couple of small storms but when the big crisis comes up a family needs strenght, the strenght found in God.

    1 Kings 3:9,10

    9 Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this your great people? 10 The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked for wisdom.

    I wonder how many of us if given the chance to ask for anything would ask for wisdom?  Solomon asked for wisdom to lead God's people.  I think the majority of people would ask for money.  People cheat, kill, and steal for money not wisdom.  It shows where most people's heart truly is.  What would you ask for?

    There is a way which seems right to a man, But in the end it leads to death.

    We have two choices in life, only two, there are no gray areas, the way of God and Life or our on way which is the way to death.  Mankind has been trying to go its own way since day one with Adam.  We are rebellious creatures.  It usually takes trouble in our lifes to open our eyes.  There are stubborn Christians who think they have all the answers without seeking God's will first.  We are by nature rebellious stubborn people that have to strive daily to do God's will.  Mankind has become so arrogrant that we have convinced ourselves we don't need a God in our lives.  This is the way that leads to death not life.

    Proverbs 16:24

    Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

    A few words can make all the difference bad or good.  If you think about it, it is pretty amazing how a simple word can either bring happiness or grief to someone's life.  That is why the Bible talks so much about controlling one's tongue.  As examples of Christ we have to be so careful of our speech.  We can bring people to salvation or send them away with our words or be judged as hyprocrites.  I said it before the only Bible some people will ever read is us.

    John 20:29

     Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed.”

    I was watching a news show today and they were debating with an athiest.  Nothing that aint heard before.  But what got me is whole argument was since we have all this technology and have become so advanced anybody would have to an idiot to believe in religion.  Well he just don't know it is our faith that keeps us strong.  None of us have seen God physically but I see signs of him evertime I go outside and look at the stars.  Only God could of created such a vast beautiful universe. I see God eveytime I go for a walk in the woods and see the complexity of nature.  I see God evertime I see a newborn baby, created in the womb of its mother.  I see God all around us.

    I also see the works of Satan all around, such as the man who has made it his purpose in life to destroy religion.  In places such as Las Vegas a city made rich in the vices of mankind, in places like Iran where evil men have hijacked a peaceful religion to turn into something very dark  In places in Africa where people are slaughtered for being from the wrong tribe.

    If you really open your eyes and heart you can see the forces of good and evil at work in this world.  It is the arrogrance of man that has blinded him.
