The Word
God's Covenant Concerning His Word My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psalm 89: 34 Words of God are forever. They are pure and holy.
He cannot and will not change for He is God and His Word is settled in Heaven. People have a tendency to break their vows but not God. Only God wrote the Words. It was written as Holy men of God were moved. It is his very own Covenant. He is the designer of the Word. He thinks highly of it. it is His own Words and they will last.He cannot and will not change for He is God and His Word is settled in Heaven. People have a tendency to break their vows but not God.
Rich Truth can be found in His Word. When one breaks the covenant they do an evil thing. God never approves of His Commandments being broken. Deliverance is in His Word. It is a matter of life and death. He takes pleasure in that most ancient and solemn contract. If it were conceivable that he had repented of it, he would not be found dwelling upon it, and repeating it with renewed emphasis. Forsake Not His Word. It is life. ©Brenda A. The Olive Tree
Be Like A Green Olive Tree In The House of God |
Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. -Psalm 52: 7-8
The Olive Tree: It is known for its ability to withstand the storms. It's tough, and resilient and bounces back when swayed and bent by the winds of time. Do we want to be a like a green olive tree in the house of the Lord? David trusted in the mercy of God and he is blessed forever. He waited upon God's name and was a good example for god's saints David tells how he came to stand and flourish when some that were rich and mighty, withered and came to nothing. ...this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever While others trust in the riches of their own righteousness and services, and make not Christ their strength, do we renounce all, and trust in the mercy of God in Christ? If so we shall be like a green olive while they that trust in riches and their own works, fade and wither. Have character and confidence. Continue to trust God to spring His grace on you. The world is like an uprooted tree, while the believer is a vigorous well planted Olive Tree. Let's be like an Olive Tree.

Lily In The Valley
Rose Of Sharon | His fragrance brings an aroma like nothing else into our lives. Jesus is His Name and the mention of it brings comfort and joy to our lives. Thy name is as ointment poured forth. I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. Song of Solomon 5:5 Christians should walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling Savor. Ephesians 5:2; who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Acts 10: 38
I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. (Song of Solomon 1:2-3; The Rose of Sharon is one gift, no one can take from us As the Lily of the Valleys. Unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; -Malachi 4: 2
Jesus is most precious to our lives, especially in the hard times. Unto you therefore which believe He is precious. (1 Peter 2:7) He is our precious cornerstone, our precious sacrifice, our precious Savior, and the precious object of our faith. 1 Peter 2:6 and 1:18-19. When we travel through the valley of the shadows of death, fresh billows of His love comes over us. Our sorrow and losses are just blessings sent in disguise
Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into Thy lips: therefore God hath blessed Thee forever. Psalms 45:1-2 Following Jesus, the Rose of Sharon where ever He leads will bring comfort that only our God can give. He is the fairest of ten thousand to my soul. ©Brenda A. Study The Bible
Study The Scriptures | Study - a personal effort to gain knowledge: to pursue one's studies. Application of the mind to the acquisition of knowledge, as by reading, investigation, or reflection: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Be ambitious and pursue it eagerly Prize it above measure. Webster says to learn or memorizes something -1 Timothy 2: 15 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Romans 16: 26 The writings of the prophets are part of the Scriptures.
The scriptures bring much comfort to us. We have hope in the Words written by God's prophets in time gone by as they were moved on by the Spirit of God. And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; -1 Thessalonians. 4:11 We are quiet when we are at rest and peace with God. Dig into His Word for comfort.
Unto us is given great truths from the Almighty God. There are mysteries yet to be unfolded. God does not want us to be ignorant. He has a beautiful plan for our lives. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. -Romans 15: 4
Deny the flesh. Sometimes we have to make ourselves make time for quiet and studying the scriptures. It should be a treat to get into the Word to learn more of God. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. -John 5: 39
Ye do err, (You are deceived) not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. - Matthew 22: 29 Youth can learn much as they read the scriptures each day. I try to teach my grandchildren about the Word each opportunity I can find. When I was a child we were taught the scriptures. We taught them to our children as they grew up. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3: 15 ©Brenda A.
Diary Of A Bible
JANUARY: A busy time for me. Most of the family decided to read me through this year. They kept me busy for the first two weeks, but they have forgotten me now. FEBRUARY: Clean-up time. I was dusted yesterday and put in my place. My owner did use me for a few minutes last week. He had been in an argument and was looking up some references to prove he was right. MARCH: Had a busy day first of the month. My owner was elected president of the PTA & used me to prepare a speech. APRIL: Grandpa visited us this month. He kept me on his lap for an hour reading from 1 Peter 5:5-7. He seems to think more of me than do some people in my own household. MAY: I have a few green stains on my pages. Some spring flowers were pressed in my pages. JUNE: I look like a scrapbook. They have stuffed me full of newspaper clippings - one of the girls got married. JULY: They put me in a suitcase today. I guess we are off on vacation. I wish I could stay home; I know I'll be closed up in this thing for at least two weeks. AUGUST: Still in the suitcase. SEPTEMBER: Back home at last and in my old familiar place. I have a lot of company. Two women's magazines and four comic books are stacked on top of me. I wish I could be read as much as they are. OCTOBER: They read me a little bit today. One of them is very sick. Right now I am sitting in the center of the coffee table. I think the Pastor is coming by for a visit. NOVEMBER: Back in my old place. Somebody asked today if I were a scrapbook. DECEMBER: The family is busy getting ready for the holidays. I guess I'll be covered up under wrapping paper & packages again... just as I am every Christmas. --Author Unknown What would be in the Diary of your Bible?

Words Have power
<<< Sending Out Arrows Of Love >>> | - Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaks deceit: one speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in heart he lays his wait. Jer. 9:8
For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. Ps 11: 2
But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. Ps. 64:7 Words hurt, and destroy. O be careful little tongue what you say. God is listening and we must use our words to heal, encourage, and, give thanks to God. Death and life is in the power of the tongue. Faith and love must be spoken. If we put faith in words and do not speak idle words we will see great results. Words can be used for the greatest effect - to help. "Dear God, please help me to speak words of love. Grant, too, that we send out arrows of love each day to our family, friends, and neighbors. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus' name, amen." The love we give away is the only love we keep. - Elbert Hubbard For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life |

In His Name
| Just Call Upon Him |
--- Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. -John 16: 23-24 |
His Name is great. I love the Name of Jesus. There is no other Name quite like it. Just call upon His Name. Jesus Most High God. The sound of His Name brings peace and sweetness. His Name is Powerful. In the Name of Jesus Peter commanded the crippled man to rise up and walk. Share your heart with Him today. His Name drives away evil. Use His Name, it will drive away loneliness. Sing praises to His Name
His Name is Holy. And call upon me and I will answer him--- Psalm 91 15. Your Father knows what you need. The Lord is far from the wicked but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15: 29 He will hear your cries today. Just call upon Him. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus He hears the faintest call. Then shall thou call and the Lord shall answer thou shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am ...Isaiah 58:9 Call unto Me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knows not. Jeremiah 33: 3 Acknowledge His Name There is life through His Name. John 20: 31 Approach God through the Name of Jesus. He will hear you. Have faith in His Name. Acts 3: 16 Just Call On His Name. In the Name of Jesus we have victory.
Just Call On His Name. He will hear you. There is power in His Name. There is healing in His Name There is Salvation His Name. Call Him Today. Just do it.
There is no other Name under Heaven whereby we can be saved. Acts 4: 12 ©Brenda A.

God Has A Plan
The Wilderness Way | And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt. Exodus 13: 17-18 God had a different plan for his people. He wanted them to go through the wilderness. There were dangers and temptations along the way they would have gone, but God had a plan. God knew the wars would tempt them to go back to Egypt. God did not want this so instead He led them through the Red Sea and they entered the Sinai peninsula. The other route was nearer, but God led them into the wilderness of the Red Sea area. He had a plan. He has a plan for us too. There are obstacles along the Christian way today, but God leads us according to His plan. He knows which ways is best for us. God led the people along then and today God leads us along. Like the song says-- Some through the waters, some through the flood, Some through the fire, but all through the blood; Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song, In the night season and all the day long. ©Brenda Arrowood For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. |

Rest
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Psalm 122:1 Rest For The Children Of God
Rest awaits us when we come to God and get into His Ark of Safety. Rest is defines as a bodily state characterized by minimal functional and metabolic activities -- peace of mind or spirit The dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. -Genesis 8:9 we find many times that God gave His people rest from war in His Word. He wants to give us rest today in our struggles.
Every one needs rest. In God's Word we read, “And he said, my presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest”. -Exodus 33:14 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass. Psalm 37: 7 Unto whom I swore in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. Psalm 95: 11 We don't want to grieve God as the Children of Israel did for forty years in the wilderness. Our rest will be lost through unbelief. Heb. 4: 5-11
seems we are so busy in life. God wants us to rest and rest in Him. Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and have given you this land. -Joshua 1: 13 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away, and be at rest. Psalm 55: 6
There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. Psalm 38: 3 Beware of sin in our life! We will find no rest until sin is gone. Return unto thy rest, O my soul for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee. Psalm 116: 7 I urge you to daily enter into the Presence of God to have your heart, soul and mind renewed by His Love. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. Psalm 132: 14 Come to God and He will give you rest. All who are heavy burdened And burdened down with earthly cares and worries, Come to God and find rest. Matthew 11:28 © Brenda A. The Heavenly Book and Lamb
The Lamb Takes the Scroll | Continuation of Revelation -- A few highlights of Rev. Chapter 5: 1-7 1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. 6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. **************************************The sealed book held the secrets of the future. Christ is the one who opens it. Out of the seven seals came the seven trumpets. The seven seals and seven trumpets form the framework for the book of Rev. Ch. 6-11 At the sounding of the seventh trumpet the kingdoms of the world become the kingdom of Christ. The seven horns, eyes and spirits belonging to the Lamb, means all conquering. Might, Power and Knowledge. He knows the future and controls it. Christ in the vision to the seven churches appeared as a warrior. Here He is called the Lion. The Lion when seen, is a Lamb. A Lion represents Power. A Lamb represents sacrifice. The secret of Christ power is His sufferings. Thus in the panorama outline of the struggle between the kingdom of the world and the kingdom of God. Ch. 6:1 - 11: 15 it is the suffering Lamb. of God that is Victor. The Lamb of God in eternity will Himself be the center of the Redeemed world, that He Himself will have brought into being. ************************************** For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3: 16 Kjv |

What God's Word Tells Us About Earth
The Thin Curtain of Earth
|
Where were thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner stone thereof; when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brakes forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it, And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, And said, Hitherto shall thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed? Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? -Job 38: 4-13 KJV. Sunday is Earth Day. What does God's Word tell us about the earth? Plenty. God laid the foundations of the earth. It was the work of God and not the development of an evolving, self-existent, molecule or any number of molecules. Job was asked to tell how the earth was formed under God's hand, if he had understanding, if he could not do this he was a poor critic of God's government. God asked, who has laid the measures of the earth or stretched the fine line on it. The expression here (verse 5) gives the idea of a carpenter using a line to lie out his work. The earth is represented as a building, the plan of which was laid out beforehand; and it was then made according to the plan. The earth therefore is not the work of chance or fate; it was constructed according to certain specifications; and the method used proves infinite and personal skill. Our Creator formed the earth on a solid and eternal basis. It is not the idea of the earth resting on a solid foundation like a building, but being suspended and rotation is space fully governed by the law of gravitation. If Job did not know these things how could he be qualified to criticize God and His government? Have ye not known? Have ye not heard? Hath it not been told you from the beginning? Have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in: Isaiah 40:22 kjv Who covers thyself with light as with a garment: who stretched out the heavens like a curtain: Psalm 104: 2 Could this thin curtain refer to the protective covering of the atmosphere, which has just the right density to sustain life on earth? They tell us that the sun throws out various kinds of violet rays-some deadly, some life giving. We are shielded from at least 8 harmful rays by a layer of ozone about 1/8 inch thick. This seems to be the proper thickness to allow beneficial rays to come through as well as to protect us from destructive ones. If this curtain were removed, life on earth would come to an end, for the harmful rays would blind, blister, and kill. If it were thicker it would prevent the needful rays from coming through; and life would perish thereby. The curtain also prevents us from the constant barrage of meteoric from outer space. Dust in the atmosphere, along with reflection from the sun, contributes to the making of light, rain, and snow. Otherwise they say, the heavens would be black; the protective covering of ozone is about 40 miles up. We live at the very bottom of an ocean of air that provides us with life-giving oxygen; and the atmosphere is a perfect blanket or curtain of insulation against both heat and cold. God has adjusted the earth atmosphere and the heavens to sustain life. God is in control of the earth and we need not worry abut it at all. He knows all about it. The Almighty Creator is in full control and we can trust Him to bring everything concerned to the will of His purpose.
John 3: 16 says -- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. |

Jesus
JESUS, MY LORD | Jesus means everything to me. Abiding in Him is joy beyond compare. When I am tired or discouraged, I run to Jesus. He gives me strength. Every need He supplies. I never go hungry or lack for any good thing. Why? Because He gives good things to His children just as He said He would do. Since I met Him, life has changed. Nothing else satisfies. Only Jesus. He gives me a song to sing each day. I'm so happy with Him. Unto them that look for Him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. His eyes are over the righteous. Sin will keep us from Him and make us feel awkward in His presence. He hates sin but never fear, there is forgiveness with Him. Ps. 130:4 He gives rest to the weary and increases their strength. Come to Him and He will give you rest. Matt. 11: 28 Just say His Name often. It brings peace. JESUS "Blessed be His Name!" ©Brenda A. Fear not
Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled | Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. -John 14: 1-4 kjv Do not be troubled, or afraid. God wants to give us perfect peace.
He is with us in trying times. Did not He say, I will not leave you comfortless? God's Word cannot lie. Every Word is true. In life's difficult moments We have a Friend. The dearest Friend He is preparing a place of habitation for us He will come back, just like He said. He said, I will come again. I believe you Lord. That will be a glorious day! You are with us. We are never along. Faith
Faith is the Door to God | Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. The just shall live by faith. Heb 10:38 Without faith it is impossible to please God Paul said, in the last days many would depart from the faith. All Christians have a certain amount of faith. It is impossible to please God without Faith. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? Luke 12: 28 It is written the justified shall live by faith. Our faith can save us and we can go in peace. Luke 7: 50 With a small amount of faith we can move mountains. Nothing shall be impossible unto you. According to your faith be it unto you. Why not move some mountains today? Matthew 21: 21 Thanks be to God, our faith can make us whole. According to your faith be it unto you Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. Mark 10: 52 Faith opens up the window to God He is able to sustain us in our faith. Jesus said unto them, Have faith in God. Mark 11: 22 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: We have boldness and access with confidence by faith in him. Worship God For He is Good
He Satisfies | Ho, every one that thirsts, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Isaiah 55: 1 Goodness and mercy comes from God the Father He gives good gifts to us He causes His Light to shine upon us. Jesus knows what you need. He supplies every need He satisfy the poor with bread. Ps. 132: 15 He will supply our needs in times of drought and national disaster. And the Lord shall guide us continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and strengthen our bones: and we will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not -Isaiah 58: 11. Good things are in store for those who love God Sing praises to our God for He is good For his anger endures but a moment; n his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Prayer for the Church Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts un-blameable in holiness before God, even our Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. -1 Thessalonians 3: 11-13 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I call Him Holy for He is worthy!
The Seven Spirits In the Throne Room | Continuation of Revelation and A few highlights about the Heavenly Scroll - Rev. 4: 6-11 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, Holy, Holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
Thou art worthy, O Lord,
to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. -Rev. 4: 6-11 What an honor to have a glimpse of God's eternal Throne. The sea of glass is the actual floor of the Throne. Much is taking place there. There are the seven spirits of God
The beasts (translated means living ones or creatures) and are continually praising God. The many eyes could represent the unceasing watchfulness while their wings suggest swiftness. The four heads may represent the various aspects of nature; wild beast, domesticated animals, human beings, and flying creatures. The creatures could therefore represent praise and adoration flowing from all of God's creation, or maybe angels who are God's agents in overseeing the created order How awesome that the Heavenly utterance of the beasts continually cry out in praise to God, and acknowledge the supremacy of God by ............ Call attention to God's Holiness 4: 4-8 Fall prostrate in worship - 5: 8-10 Sing and play harps - 5: 8-10 Offer prayers of saints to God 5: 8- Call forth the horsemen 6: 1-8 10 Give vials to angels 15: 7 Listen to worship of others 14: 3
They acknowledge the supremacy of God, and that they were redeemed and have their crowns by His blessings. He is worthy , worthy, worthy! Can't you just imagine the beauty of the Throne room. Our Heavenly Father on His Throne to whom praise honor, and glory belongs. The heavens declare the glory of God. He is Almighty and every knee shall bow before Him, for He is our Awesome God. I call Him Holy for He is worthy! Holy is the Lord! He is so Holy to me! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3: 16 Kjv |

Come to the Waters of Life | Come to the Living Waters - Ho, every one that thirsts, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Isaiah 55: 1 Come means to advance toward accomplishment: to advance in a to move toward something : Approach - come here : to move or journey to a vicinity with a specified purpose. I desire to come to Jesus.
Open wide the doors of your heart -Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be over-past. Isaiah 26:20 Just open up your heart and tell Him all your cares. He really cares about you. Just come to Him today with all your cares. He wants fellowship with you. A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. Song of Solomon 4: 15 He also has "Water of Life" When we drink this water we never thirst again.
Mercy is great, and grace is free God is doing a new work. He is so willing and able to give you perfect peace. He Longs for His children to Come to Him each day and pour out your heart .for He is great --Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Isaiah 40: 12
Every need He will supply. Just ask and believe. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil. 4: 19 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. Psalm 105: 41 We serve a great big God. - Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters: who makes the clouds his chariot: who walks upon the wings of the wind: Now how great is that? Surely He will help us today in our problems.
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that over-comes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. - Rev. 21

Hope In God
Hope, The Anchor Of the Soul
Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. -Psalm 42: 5 It is good that we have hope. Without it life would be unbearable. Job thought all hope was gone, but he did not give up. His friends and family urged him to forsake God, but Job clung to his Hope. God's Word says that --- He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree. Job 19: 10 O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. -Psalm 42: 11 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. -Psalm 39: 7 The Psalmist David declared that his only Hope was in the Lord. Life is uncertain but death is sure. Praise is good, while waiting for God. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. -Psalm 71:14 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3: 26 It is good that we do have hope and salvation as a surety. Even in youth we have hope. David said: For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. -Psalm 71:5 He trusted in God always. Young people have hope when they wait on God to help them in daily struggles. We all have hope and --Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. - Psalm 16: 9 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. -1 Corinthians 15: 19 Life is uncertain. Death is sure. I pray that Jesus Christ is your hope and anchor. They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; Psalm 107: 23 Make sure your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock Jesus.
Be sure, Be very sure Your Ship Reaches Harbor. ©04/12/2007 Brenda A. |

The Light
~~ Light ~~ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. -Isaiah 60: 1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” -Psalm 27:1 My light is but a little one, My light of faith and prayer; But lo! it glows like God's great sun, For it was lighted there. I may not hide my little light;
The Lord has told me so. 'Tis given me to keep in sight, That all may see it glow. Shine on, shine on, shine on bright and clear; Shine on, shine on now the day is here. -Children's Songbook
As you share your light, others will find greater light too. No one likes to be in the dark Jesus came into this world to be a Light for the ones that are lost. He so wants them to be found. Jesus is the Light that lights all paths. Jesus Christ is the light that we must hold up. "He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come"
When we are walking in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. JESUS CHRIST As I looked around me in the shadow of darkness, I seen a small glow of light. Never had I seen this small glow of light standing beside me.
Throughout all the years of my life, I lived in a shadow of darkness, but somehow I see a small glow of light.
I became so curious as to what this glow of light meant. It was something about this small glow of light that caught my attention. I suddenly realized it was this glow of light waking me up in the morning.
Still uncertain why I seen this glow of light, I bowed down on my knees and confessed the boundaries of my sins. The lively demons living in me begin to decrease, one by one. My life started surrounding a new look. The sky became clear and brigher.
Oh, this glow of light...
This Light... This Glow of Light...
Begin to walk within me and talk to me through the narrow path of life.
This Light... This Glow of Light...is Jesus, Christ...
-Carissa L. Walker Lord may we each shine on with Your light, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. |

The School Master
~~~THE SCHOOL MASTER~~~ 22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. --Galatians 3 The law can only show us how far we have failed to be what God would require us to be. It's the schoolmaster. Man was once under the law unto the time of Christ. Now we have a much better teacher. Road to Emmaus
JESUS APPEARS TO THE ELEVEN AFTER RESURRECTION ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ *From God's Word we read-- 16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen -MATTHEW 28: 16-20 -The two disciples walking to Emmaus were so filled with their own despair that they didn't know who Jesus was walking beside them, until Jesus took over, and then they knew. The disciples locked themselves away in an upper room for fear of what might happen to them and did not know it was the Lord until He took control. Jesus had raised, just as He said He would do. He instructed His Disciples to go teach all nations to the end of this age. ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU GO AND TEACH Road to Emmaus Blessed, Broken And Given
Two men walked on the road to Emmaus Blind to a stranger they met on the way Late in the evening, they asked him to supper To break bread together at the close of the day The stranger took the bread and bowed his head Then asked for a blessing then he broke it Into pieces of three He gave to these blind men this bread Blessed and broken And suddenly their blinded eyes did see
His life was blessed far more than I could ever imagine He was touched by God's grace more than I'll ever know Then he was broken by the hands of the father To bring sight to all blind men who were lost on their way After God blessed him and after God broke him He was given to bring sight to all men When he was blessed When he was broken and after he was given God blessed him and broke him again and again
My life is blessed far more than I could ever imagine I've been touched by God's grace more than I'll ever know So let me be given to the hands of the father Let me feel, what you felt, when you were broken for me
After my blessing, and after my breaking Let me be given to bring sight to all men When I've been blessed When I've been broken then after I've been given Lord bless me and break me again and again Lord bless me and break me again and again --Cece Winans
The Stone Rolled Away
Resurrection Power! Risen for me, risen for me, Up from the grave He has risen for me; Now evermore from death’s sting I am free, All because Jesus has risen for me. He is not here--Christ is risen! THE WOMEN VISIT THE TOMB *From God's Word we read-- 1 In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher. 2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: 4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. 5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. 8 And they departed quickly from the sepulcher with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. 9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. 10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. -MATTHEW 28; kjv Jesus who had fed the 5,000, walked on the water, opened the eyes of the blind The same Jesus who had out raged the Pharisees by being seen with tax collectors like Matthew and sinners like her. Jesus who had raised Lazarus from the dead after four days when all hope was gone. This same Jesus who had healed her of her afflictions, has risen from the dead — just as he had said he would! Christ was raised eternally. And not only was he raised eternally, He appeared to us to prove it and to give us hope and strength. The reason for Easter is not egg hunts, bunnies, chocolate and ham dinners. The message of Easter is a Savior who died, was resurrected and appeared to others as a proof of the power of God. Peace be with you on this Easter Sunday The Lord who rose from the dead said that He would give us peace and He will - peace as the world doesn't know it, and peace that will out-last the world. On this Easter day more than any other day, we can be sure that the grace, mercy, and love of God is ours. Look and you can see God's Love. It shows in the grass springing green and the flowers white and yellow, the daffodils, lilies and jonquils. Hallelujah Christ is risen! He lives forever more ~~Reflection~~ Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. -Isaiah 43:19 For your enjoyment visit this linkto see a garden tour in the Holy Land -- http://www.gardentomb.com/gardentour.php
The Cross is Our Gain
~~BURIAL OF JESUS~~ -The Entombment
*From God's Word we read-- 57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: 58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed. 61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulcher. 62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, 63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. 64 Command therefore that the sepulcher be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. 65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. 66 So they went, and made the sepulcher sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch. -Matthew 27 ---We have reconciliation with the God from whom we have all gone astray. Dying in our place, He is the Victor. And His death opened the door to Paradise forever. God in human flesh was enthroned on a cursed tree accomplishing what we could never accomplish. What is the Cross to us? The Cross is our Salvation, our hope, our union with God, and our victory won for us over sin and death. God forbid that we should boast save in the Cross of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Amen. Amen. He took upon Himself the Cross of pain. And those who look in faith to Him. Eternal life shall gain! -Johnson Amen. Amen. Amen. Why He Died Video -John 3:16
Crucifixion Day- The Day My Jesus Died
Today is Good Friday. A time to meditate on the day God gave His only begotten Son to die for us. It was an awful day that my Saviour died. He died to pardon you and me. I will never know just how much He suffered for my sins, but I will spend eternity thanking Him for what He has done! Hallelujah, Praise the Lamb! THE CRUCIFIXION God's Word Says--- 32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. 33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. 35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. 36 And sitting down they watched him there; 37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. 39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. 44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. THE DEATH OF JESUS 45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. 48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. 49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. 55 And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him: 56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Josses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.
--Matthew 27 kjv ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ It was an awful death He died. No one can even begin to imagine the pain He suffered. The Son of God broken hearted and dying all alone for you and me. If Christ would have saved Himself, as the mockers demanded, His purpose of coming into the world would have been defeated. This was Satan's last attempt to keep Christ from dying on the cross to defeat him and redeem man. He did not come down but rather fulfilled prophecy (Psalm 22: 1) in his dying hour, when He cried out, My God my God, why hast thou forsaken Me? He cried with a loud voice, showing normal strength to the end, proving He voluntarily laid down His life. -John 10: 18. He was mocked, spat upon, beaten, and persecuted, but He died not in vain. "He is the Lamb of God, The Almighty , King of Kings. My Saviour and my God. Glory to His Name!"
Seven Sayings of Jesus on the Cross
~~ Seven Sayings of Jesus on the Cross ~~
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~
I have a book by Arthur W. Pink entitled "The Seven sayings Of The Saviour On The Cross". I have put together a small version of The Words Of Christ On the Cross for you to read. You can read part of the the book or most of it, online at the link at bottom. 1-Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34) -----Words of Forgiveness 2-Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:43) -----Words of Salvation 3-Woman, behold thy son! [And to the disciple] behold thy mother! (John 19:26-27) -----Words of Affection 4-My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46) -----Words of Anguish 5-I thirst. (John 19:28) -----Words of Suffering 6-It is finished. (John 19:30) -----Words of Victory 7-Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. (Luke 23:46) -----Words of Contentment
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~
Seven times the dying Saviour spoke. Three of his utterances concerned men: to one he gave the promise that he should be with him that day in Paradise; to another he confided his mother; to the mass of spectators he made mention of his thirst. Three of his utterances were addressed to God: to the Father he prayed for his murderers; to God he uttered his mournful plaint; and now into the hands of the Father he commends his spirit. In the hearing of God and men, angels and devil, he had cried in triumph, “It is finished”. “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.” 1 Father forgive them, for they know not what they do ----Words of Forgiveness
Then Jesus said, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do". Luke 23:34In this prayer Jesus places no limit on his forgiveness. Thus it can be reasonably assumed that in this prayer he may have been asking for forgiveness not only for the Roman soldiers or Pharisees, but also for the temple authorities and even for Judas. The sweetest Words I ever heard was "I Forgive" Praise God for forgiveness! This first saying of Jesus upon the cross was Jesus' prayer for forgiveness for those who were crucifying him: the Roman soldiers, and apparently for all others who were involved in his crucifixion.
Considering the likelihood that none of those who were involved in implementing Jesus' crucifixion would have fully known what they were really doing, it would seem probable that Jesus' prayer for forgiveness would have extended to each person involved. Romans 8: 1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." --Thank you God that I am forgiven.
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ -
2 Today you will be with me in paradise -----Words of Salvation
And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise". Luke 23:43
One of the thieves apparently had a change of heart and , with his faltering understanding, casts himself on Jesus' mercy. He is amply rewarded and inherits eternal life here after and receives the assurance of everlasting blessing, starting that very day. This is the Savior's First Soul for the Kingdom after the Cross. The dying thief asked and received. The salvation of the thief illustrates Christ' readiness and power to save sinners today We see the Saviour's longing for fellowship here. He had told His Disciples about the mansions He had prepared for those who accept Him The other thief begged for Him to come down and get him down from the cross and save them from dying. We have no reference of him being saved from sin. The other thief changed his mind (repented) Jesus' answered, "Today you will be with me in paradise" It was salvation spontaneously and instantaneously. And in taking that thief's side, He took the side of all of all sinners.
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~
3 Behold your son: behold your mother -----Words of Affection "When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, `Dear woman, here is your son,' and to the disciple, `Here is your mother.' From that time on, this disciple took her into his home" -John 19:26-27 While Jesus was dying, He did not forget His mother. He addressed John to take her to his home and care for her. Jesus honored and showed concern for his mother. When it seemed impossible for him to help anyone, He addressed John to take care of her Here we have the fulfillment of Simon's prophecy Luke 2: 29-32 Could it be that hers, the greatest of all privileges was to bring with it the greatest of all sorrows. It did come to pass. Who can measure those terrible hours of torture that Mary experienced at the Cross. She suffered in profound desolation of sprit. We see here the perfect example for children to honor their parents. To embrace them with love, respect, gratitude and honor. ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ 4 Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani -----Words of Anguish
Around the ninth hour, Jesus shouted in a loud voice, saying "Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani?" which is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" - Mark 15:34 Words of appalling woe, and words that made the earth to tremble. Jesus on tehe cross was receiving the wages which was due His people. He had no sin of His own. Hanging there in the sinners place He gave His life and paid for our sins. in His own body on the tree. We see the explanation of Gethsemane now. As He approached the cross, darkness the horizon darkened for Him more an more. From infantry He had suffered from man, from the beginning of Hi public ministry he suffered from Satan., but at the Cross, He was to suffer at the Hand of God. He entered the darkness at Gethsemane and left the three disciples behind, because He must tread the winepress alone. We see the basis of Salvation now. The Redeemer was left alone to suffer the sins of mankind. He had born the wrath of God's judgment against sin, and knew He had triumphed over Satan and the curse of sin.
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ 5 I thirst
He said, "I thirst". John 19:28 -----Words of Suffering I Thirst! Here we have evidence of Christ' humanity and the intensity of the Saviour 's suffering. We can see also how Christ sympathizes with His suffering people. Our adorable Saviour in flesh suffering. He had to drink the bitter cup for every person. He thirsted that sinners might have their thirst quenched at the Fountain of the Waters of Life. They tell us that those who died on the cross became so thirsty that their tongues would swell and protrude from their mouths. The One Who had said that those who are thirsty are invited to come unto Him and drink was now thirsty. When they brought Jesus Christ to Golgotha, the soldiers offered Him sour wine to drink, mingled with bitter substances to lessen the suffering. The Lord, when He tasted it, did not wish to drink it. He did not want to lessen the suffering. This suffering, He took upon Himself voluntarily for the sins of all people; thus, he wanted to bear it consciously to the end. He was beaten by Roman soldiers, scourged, stripped and nailed to a cross ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ 6 It is finished
Jesus said, "It is finished". John 19:30 -----Words of Victory Jesus announces that his work, atonement, is completed. The battle was over. He uttered these words and bowed His head and died. It is said that when people are dying, they try to raise their heads for one more breath. He bowed His head. The sufferings did not take His life, as bad as they were ; He laid it down of Himself!
Never again shall the Light of God's countenance be hidden from Him. Blessed be God, All is finished. "The head that once was crowned with thorns is crowned with Glory now. A royal diadem adorns the Mighty Victor's brow. The highest place that Heaven affords is His by Sovereign right. The King of kings and Lord of lords, and Heaven's eternal Light. The joy of all who dwell above, the joy of all below, To whom He manifests His Love an grants His Name to know. It is finished, Hallelujah!
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~
7 Into your hands I commit my spirit -----Words of Contentment
And speaking in a loud voice, Jesus said, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit". --Luke 23:46
For awhile the Communion to the Father was broken outwardly - as the light of God's Holy countenance was hidden from the sin-bearer, but now the darkness had ended and passed forever. Up to the Cross there had been perfect Communion between the Father and Son The awful "Cup" which the Father had given Him to drink was now finished . He committed the precious treasure of His Spirit to the Father. The last utterance of our Saviour. While He hung on the Cross, seven times His lips had moved in speech. Seven the number of completeness or perfection. At Calvary than as everywhere, the perfections of the Blessed One is displayed. Seven is also the number of rest in a finished work.; It is finished. He rested completely satisfied at the word that was accomplished. So the seventh saying of the Saviour brought Him to the place of rest. This saying had been uttered in Prophecy long centuries before the Incarnation in Psalm 31:5. Even in the midst of suffering, Jesus still calls Him my God". His agony does not overcome His faith. Oh What a Savior! It was love that nailed Jesus to the Cross. He lovingly tells the thief, words of comfort, peace, and joy. Like the first criminal did, most people reject Jesus Christ. Their petitions to God thus go unanswered. However, all who surrender to Jesus receive not only strength to face the present, but also lasting hope for the future. There is a future beyond the grave. Eternal life in God's kingdom awaits those who will embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior. And, having made PEACE through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. --Colossians 1:20
SIX HOURS ON THE CROSS 1. Our Savior was praying one day in the garden, He knew that He must soon give His life. He knew that He must go to Calvary, I tell you, my friends, He paid a great price.
CHORUS: Six hours on the cross our Savior was dying, Six hours on the cross, Oh, what a sad time. "My God, oh my God why am I forsaken?" Six hours on the cross, your Savior and mine.
2. The soldiers lead Jesus through the judgment hall, He suffered and bled for one and for all. They crowned His head and spit in His face. There was no one to take His place.
3. So tired and so weary but He couldn't lay down, His cross was so heavy, He fell to the ground. Oh, sinner, repent and give up your pride, Six hours on the cross our Savior died.
JESUS SENTENCED TO DIE
~~Oh What Marvellous Love ~~ ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ God's Word Says--- 15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. 16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. 17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? 18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. 19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. 22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. 23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. 24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. 25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. 26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. 27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. 28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. -Matthew 27 KJV ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ "His blood be on us, and on our children" verse 25. How fearfully this has been fulfilled! The Scourging The scourging was done with a whip which was made of a number of leather thongs weighted with a piece of lead or sharp metal. The victim was stripped to the waist, then bound in a bent-over position, to a post, and beaten on the bare back with the scourge till the flesh was all torn open Sometimes death resulted. The Mocking The Jews, in their trial, had mocked him. Herod and his soldiers mocked him. Now Pilate's soldiers mock him. A little later on the cross, priests, elders and scribes mock him. It was a great sport to their brutal minds to see one who claimed to be the Son of God having to submit to such humiliation and torture. Simon of Cyrene It is said that Jesus went out bearing His own Cross. Exhausted by his night of agony, and the whipping, he became too weak to carry it after a while. Then Simon was pressed into the service. Perhaps he was just one of the on-lookers, but I believe that experience changed his life. Little is known of Simon, but I can only imagine the joy of having helped carry Jesus Cross.. Probably in Heaven today, He is still rejoicing. On they went to Golgotha's Hill, where Jesus was crucified. These Thousand Hills These thousand hills roll ever on In footprints of a Mighty God They bring me to my knees in praise Amazing love, amazing grace
Was on a hill my Savior died A broken heart, a bleeding side Hill of the skull, Mount Calvary The blood He shed, He shed for me
When heaven's hills at last I roam Forever settle in my home I'll join the saints around Your throne Your kingdom, Lord, rolls ever on
These thousand hills roll ever on Ripples of a coming storm The morning star precedes the dawn These thousand hills roll ever on
Before Pilate: Barabbas Released
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ The Silent Lamb of God ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ 11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. 12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. 13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? 14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marveled greatly --Matthew 27
It was the custom for the judge to sit and the accused to stand before him Acts 26: 6 Notice Jesus said nothing, He could have said plenty, but did not. He was the silent, Holy Lamb of God. He could have laid prostrate at His feet by one look of divine power, or one word of fiery rebuke. But He let them say and do their worst. When we are still God can work on our lives . He can rid us of all our fears, selfishness and anything that displeases Him. We often want to strike back and take up our own cause of defense, but all we really need is a silent power, and a conquered spirit! Pilate did not understand why He did not defend himself. (History tells us that Pilate later committed suicide. His wife, Procula, tradition says, became a Christian.) On learning that Jesus was from Galilee, Pilate sent him to Herod, who had jurisdiction over Galilee. King Herod was not that easy with Jesus. Our Lord, so meek and humble was at His lowest ebb of life, but still He was thinking of you and me. Oh the great Love of Jesus! Never was there One like Him. He deserves all glory, honor and praise. It was my sins that nailed Him to the Cross. I can never thank Him enough, for dying for me!
~~ Jesus Stood Alone ~~ The Day Jesus stood alone And felt the hearts of men like stone, And knew He came but to atone'' That day "He held His peace." They witnessed falsely to His word. They bound Him with a cruel cord, And mockingly proclaimed Him Lord, "But Jesus held His peace." They spat upon Him in the face, They dragged Him on from place to place, They heaped upon Him all disgrace; "But Jesus held His peace." MY friend, have you for far much less, With rage, which you called righteousness, Resented slights with great distress? Your Saviour "held His peace." -LSP
Christ Officially Condemned
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ THE PRIEST TAKES JESUS TO PILATE - JUDAS HANGS HIMSELF ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ 1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: 2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. 3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. 5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. 6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. 7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. 8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. 9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; 10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me. -Matthew 27 Kjv
They bound Jesus as if He were the worst kind of criminal, not realizing that He had willingly submitted to them after demonstrating His power that they were helpless to hurt Him without His consent.-John 18: 6 Judas was now brought to his senses, like Peter, yet unlike Peter he did not repent to God but only to man. He was morose and broody and left to himself he became a helpless victim of Satan who kept him from turning to God and urged him to destroy himself because of his cowardly deed in selling and betraying his best and only true friend. He regretted his act toward the Savior in so much that he went and hanged himself. The amount of money amounted to about $19.20 about 113 days wages of a common laborer at 17 cents a day. That was the price paid for Jesus My Lord! Many today go this far in regret, but they never get forgiveness because they do not go to God and renounce sin. The money did not look so tempting when Satan was through with him. He had regret to deal with. Judas could have spent a lifetime of service for God, but he failed. and hanged himself and then fell headlong in the valley below, in the field he bought, where his bowels gushed out. -Acts 1: 18 Putting blood money into the treasury was unlawful but shedding that same betrayed and innocent blood was lawful in the sight of these hypocrites. The field of Blood (Potter's Field) still remains today. Oh the shame and sorrow Jesus suffered, --- all for us, because HE LOVED US SO MUCH!
Thirty Pieces of Silver
Tis a sad but true story, from the bible it came, And it tells us how Judas sold the Savior in shame, He planned with the council of high priests that day, Thirty pieces of silver was the price they would pay.
Thirty pieces of silver, thirty shekels of shame, Was the price paid for Jesus on the cross he was slain, Betrayed and forsaken, unloved and unclaimed, In anger they pierced Him, but He died not in vain.
'Twas there on the hillside, the multitude came And found our dear Savior then took him away; They smote and they mocked him, thorns were crowned 'round his head, And His raiment of purple showed the bloodstains of red.
Far off in the mountain with his face toward the sun, Judas begged mercy for what he had done; He gave back the silver for his heart filled with strife, Then there in the mountains he took his own life.
The Denial
All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. Psalm 66: 4 ~~Peter Denies Jesus, and Weeps Bitterly~~ ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ 69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. 70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. 71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth. 72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. 73 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth (betrays) thee. 74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. -Mathew 26; Kjv.
It occurred in the court of the high priest, as Jesus was being condemned. Peter had just been willing to fight the whole Roman garrison alone. He was not a coward by any means. He deserves some credit. We can only imagine what a whirl of emotions that tore at Peter's soul that night. As Peter denied Christ Jesus the cock crowed and Jesus turned and looked at him. The look broke Peter's heart. It must have grieved the Lord when Peter denied Him. The Holy Spirit within us is grieved, when we deny Christ by drawing away from Him. Father, I too have failed and grieved You time and again. Thank you for the costly cross. Thank you for your patience in my life and the great love so freely given to me and for the whole world. Thank you for Jesus for your forgiveness. In his holy and precious name, I pray. Amen. ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ ~~Jesus Died In My Place~~ There I stood condemned to die For the sin that I had done, With the gavel of the Judge soon to fall. Jesus took my place instead, For my sinful soul he bled, There upon the cross He gladly paid it all! Jesus died in my place, He was nailed by the hands of men And hung there in disgrace. Jesus died for my sin, Now reborn by His loving grace, I gladly give my life to Him.
As He hung upon the cross Bearing all the weight of sin, Jesus blessed the hands that nailed Him to the tree. Looking far beyond His loss To the crown that He would win, And the home he would prepare for you and me. And as His blood was falling, To the earth His life descending, His love was reaching to me, Cleansing me from sin.
