A Day in The Courts Of God

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. --Psalm 84:10

There is great pleasure being in the presence of the Lord. Jesus enjoyed going into the Temple in His time on earth. ... After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking questions. By preferring the time of God's worship before all other time, we will be blessed. One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to meditate in His temple. It is better than great glory and wealth. Just sitting at the threshold, beholding the beauty of the Lord.

For if one is controlled by earthly natures, they give their minds to earthly things. If they are controlled by their spiritual natures, they give their minds to spiritual things. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ

How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yea, even faints for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. To see thy power and glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. We enjoy the powerful and glorious effects of thy gracious presence. O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: Upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

    Luke 2: 46 Romans 8:5-6 Psalm 27:4 43; 3,4 63:2 43:3 Psalm 84:1-2 Phil. 3:20

    Wondrous Things Prepared

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard,

    nor perceived by the ear,

    neither hath the eye seen,

    O God, beside thee,

what he hath prepared for him

     that waits for him.

    -Isaiah 64: 4

God has prepared great things that eye has not seen. This verse refers to God's past marvelous acts in behalf of Israel as a plea for His now interposing for His people. Paul by inspiration shows, a revelation of God's glories in the Gospel. Only with the "heart" and Spirit could they be seen.

And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation." Isaiah 25:9

Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice. How blessed are all those who long for Him. Isaiah 30:18

Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31

--- But just as it is written, "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM." 1 Corinthians 2:9

    I have a future all-sublime,

Beyond the realms of space and time,

Where my Redeemer I shall see,

    And sorrow nevermore shall be.

    A precious heritage is mine

    Days of Our Live

    We Fly Away

The days of our years are seventy years; and if by reason of vigor they are eighty years, yet their boast is toil and wickedness; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away." Ps 90:10 -- My times are in Your hand..Ps31:15

There is so much about life and death that we do not understand, but God has a plan for our lives upon earth and He knows the way we take. He knew from the beginning just how long we would dwell upon this earth. It is sad to give up our loved ones, but we know that someday soon we shall meet them again. Art, ( my husband) just lost his mother this past week after suffering from cancer. It was hard for his family to give her up, but Jesus promised.. "In My Father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:2-3) We are thankful that she is now with his father who went home about twelve years ago. Oh the joys they are now partaking of.

God gave John visions of the future.. "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and first earth had passed away...and the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.' (Rev 21:1-3)  Heaven is exclusive.. "...but there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life." (Rev 21:27)  All the Saints of God will dwell there forever more. For the Believer, there is nothing but everlasting joy and peace. Paul said "We are confident, yes, preferring rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord." 2 Cor. 5:8

    Satan Defeated Forever More

    Satan Was Once Perfect

The word of the LORD came to me: "Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre [symbolic of Lucifer or Satan] and say to him: `This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "`You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. - Ezek. 28:11-16

And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passes by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house? And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them. - 2 Chr. 7:20, 21

A funeral song can now be sung for the ruler of Tyre. The Almighty LORD says: You were the perfect example, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. No more,  Satan your throne is coming down. It is now a time of grief for him. His fate is sealed. Once full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty, he is now cast down and driven out of the glory of God's Heaven.
    We are the victors.

    Glory to God forever more!

    LIVING SACRIFICE TO GOD

Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared. Psalm 76:11

As I think about this verse,it reminds me of the many broken promises in so many lives. Personally I do not make that many firm promises, but when I do, I try hard to stick with them. This verse also reminds me of a promise I made years ago to my husband. A promise to stay with him through thick and thin. I thank God that we are celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary today.

God wanted Israel to bring a sacrifice of thanksgiving for this wonderful deliverance. They were instructed to do. We too should submit and vow good things to God. Our prayers and praises and our hearts, that are the presents we should bring to the Lord. His name is glorious, and he is the proper object of our fear. It is our duty, to submit to him. Let us seek his favor, and commit all our concerns to him. Render to all their due, fear to whom fear is due; and is it not due to God? God ought to be feared

God wants vows that are approved by God's word and serve to his glory. Romans 12: 1 says ...Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. God's glory is the utmost goal of everything we do. God desires a sacrifice, which is dead to sin. God desires a living sacrifice. When you make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it, for He takes no delight in fools. Pay what you vow!

    The Psalmist said: "I shall come into your house with burnt offerings; I shall pay you my vows, "Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High;

FILL US LORD, FOR WE THIRST

Wilt not thou revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Lord we are thirsty for more of you. There is a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the lord. People are wandering from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east. They run to and fro. Their inner soul is not satisfied. They are thirsty. Send forth your word. We need you Lord.

Let thy people rejoice again. Make known to us your ways and let us see more of your love. We need more of you. We thirst. For your love and power. Revive us again. Then we will rejoice in you. Fill our hearts and souls for we thirst. We know that you dwell in the high and holy place, and with those of a humble and contrite heart. You revive the spirits of the humble. So make known to us your salvation from your Holy Temple. Let all the earth keep silence before thee.

We walk in the midst of troubles here on earth. We need you Lord. Stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of our enemies and restore our soul. Lead us as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. There is a famine in our land. People run to and fro, trying to find happiness when all we really need is more of you. Fill our souls and let us rejoice in you.

    A Mother's Love

Then spoke the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither yours, nor mine but divide it. 1 Kings 3:26

This is truly the heart of a loving mother. This woman that came to Solomon with her friend was the love that made her give up her own child rather than see it die. She would rather endure the rigor of the law than see her child cruelly slain. How we need more Mothers like this today. Compassionate mothers can be a blessing as they overflow with a heart of Godly love.

M - any memories I have of my dear mother. She was always there for my siblings and me. The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. Proverbs 10: 7

O - pportunities may have been there for her to shrink from motherly duties, but she never swayed nor gave way to the adversary. - "Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Isaiah 49:15

T -est was numerous and many decisions were always there to make. She never failed. She guided the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. 1 Timothy 5:14

H - eartily she did what ever she did as unto the Lord. A verses that explains her well is found in Galatians 6:10, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

E - arthly treasures meant little to her as she looked to God for rewards. In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3

R - ighteous realms of faith and love reveal the memories of the heart of my mother. And that from a child I have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make me wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15

    ~Found Wanting~

    "
Then the hand was sent from Him and this inscription was written out. "Now this is the inscription that was written out: 'MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. “ This is the interpretation of the message: 'MENE '-- God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it.
    Daniel 5:24 -26

This word is written twice because of the certainty of the thing, showing that God had most surely decided: it signifies also that God has appointed a term for all kingdoms, and that a miserable end will come on all that raise themselves against him. These words literally denote He is numbered, he is numbered; he is weighed; they are divided.

God says, "Nevertheless I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love. I know your deeds: you have a reputation of being alive but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember therefore what you have received and heard: obey it and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come to you like a thief and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
I know your deeds that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So because you are a lukewarm -neither neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

God has numbered the days of the human race. We all have all been weighed on the scales and found wanting. You could say our kingdom is divided too. Many Christians are serving two Kingdoms at the same time. We are not of this world, yet our hearts are still in this world. We need to give our ALL to God. Examine our heart and remove all unrighteousness. Create in us a pure heart and renew a steadfast Spirit. Take not away Your Holy Spirit. After death is the judgment. Let us remain sober and watch and pray lest we find our-self as in Belshazzar's doom!

    LIKE A FLOOD

    - When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

Satan desires for us to be drawn into the flood of evil and be carried away, but God's spirit arrives just in time to lift us up from the drowning floods. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle on you.

And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. -Rev.12: 15 Overwhelming evil and persecution brings in a flood, but we need never fear for the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a banner. Then Satan will be stopped in his tracks.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. When the waves of death surround us and the floods of ungodliness make us afraid.God's power will deliver us from all dangers. Christ and his Church will overcome most grievous dangers, dominance through threat of punishment, violence and death. For he is with us, to save us: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee:

    Bridge of Faith

    Ezekiel 47 8 Isaiah 50, 2 Psalms 137, 1

Blowing toward the south, then turning toward the north, The wind continues swirling along; And on its circular courses the wind returns. All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again. All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing .- Ecclesiastes 1:6-8

These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinks, because there is no water, and dies for thirst.

Rivers come and they flow into the sea, and to which they return by the reflux of the sea. For he seems to speak of the visible and constant motion of the waters. The river is never full, so as to overflow the earth. By subterraneous cavities, and by evaporation forming rain clouds, the fountains and rivers are supplied from the sea, into which they then flow back.

This is how he intimates the emptiness our minds. Regardless of all the abundance of comforts we enjoy. Individuals are continually changing, while the succession of the race continues; just as the sun, wind, and rivers are  always shifting about, while the cycle in which they move is invariable; they return to the point whence they set out. "there is no new thing under the sun"

     Ecclesiastes1:9

    Faith is the Pierless Bridge

    Faith is the Pier-less Bridge
    Supporting what We see
Unto the Scene that We do not—
    Too slender for the eye

It bears the Soul as bold
As it were rocked in Steel
With Arms of Steel at either side—
    It joins—behind the Veil

    To what, could We presume
The Bridge would cease to be
    To Our far, vacillating Feet
    A first Necessity

    Lighthouse

    JESUS IS THE LIGHTHOUSE

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. –Psalm 27

Lighthouse photo was taken this past weekend May 2008,on our trip to Tybee Island.

This Strength or, "stronghold" gives security against all violence. We possess confidence, hope, and joy, in God's worship, in the midst of dangers. We use prayer for our weapon. We use prayer for divine help and guidance. If God be for us, "who can be against us, either now or in time to come? Light is a common figure for comfort. He did not fear the enemies. He was assured of good success in all danger. Salvation was surely laid up in God. Our life derives all its strength from him who is the author if it; and if he deigns to make us strong we cannot be weakened by the adversary. Of whom shall I be afraid?

I thank God for the Lighthouse!

    Be Salty

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.-Matt. 5 13

    Reflection

Salt has flavor and preserves. It melts coldness and heals wounds. The apostles were the salt of the whole earth, for they must go into all the world to preach the gospel. Today we as believers are to follow their pattern and help to meet the needs of the world. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be seasoned? Let your speech be always with grace. Colossians 4: 6 Be ready always to give an answer to every man who ask you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. 1 Peter 3: 15

    Solomon's Great Desire

What Kind Of House Are We Building For God?

And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the LORD, and an house for his kingdom. -2 Chronicles 2:1

Solomon was determined to build a good house for God. He had a great love for God. Solomon called out many men to go to working and cutting down the finest cedars of Lebanon. Only the finest of materials would do for God's house. The house was built to the Name of the Lord and was for burning sweet incense. It was built to meet the needs of God's people. It emphasized the way of salvation to the those who asked His forgiveness and represented the believers assurance of the grace of God. (1 Kings 8:27-30). He purposed in his heart to build a good house of God. The large foundations were cut to perfection and every point.

The house itself was erected without hammer or axe or any tool of iron. It was built of stones made ready. The covering was made of beams and boards of the fine cedars of Lebanon. The house was decorated within with carved cherubim's and gold covered. This house was built for God, to glorify Him. The Temple was planned most carefully by David his father, for construction of the Temple.

What kind of spiritual house are we building for God. Is it pleasing to God, and will it glorify Him? We need a desire to build only the best house for God and work on the building each day. Unless the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain. Ps. 127: 1

But Solomon built him an house. Howbeit the most High dwells not in temples made with hands; as says the prophet. Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? says the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? Has not my hand made all these things? Acts 7: 47-50

Thus says the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, says the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word.

    -1 Kings 5, Ps. 127: 1, Acts 7:47-50, Isaiah 66:1-2
