IN HEBREWS-“The false doctrine of new testament
backsliding”
Act 15:1 - And certain men which
came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be
circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
Gal.
5:4Christ is become of no effect unto
you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Christians cannot, and will not ever lose their salvation. However, false teachers such as Judaizers, came to trick Christians into thinking that keeping
the Law was necessary to be saved, rather than through grace alone. The Bible gives
all the profoundly deep and rich
understanding that they and all believers need to know, that grace is God’s exclusive, final, eternal, explicit standard for
righteousness. No one can ever please God by keeping the Law. God no longer
accepts the Law as the standard for righteousness in any way shape or manner,
nor any combination thereof for all eternity.
The
prodigal son is also misinterpreted as an example of an individual who
backslid, but later returned back to be accepted by God. This is a very shallow
understanding of this verse which is why the Bible gives additional scripture
to prevent this: The son is an example of the sinner who repents, and receives
forgiveness from God: Luk 15:21 And
the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight,
and am no more worthy to be called thy son. The prodigal was shown to be a sinner before he left home. Inheritance was to be given to the children after the death of the father, but the prodigal was so greedy he could not wait for the father to die, but demanded his inheritance, thus showing he did not honor his father at all. Was Demas a backslider, because he was in the ministry with Paul and left, but returned later? The answer is no, because the Bible clearly states the reason he left was because he loved the world above Jesus Christ.
Is
Demas an example of backsliding in the new testament? The answer is no, because although
Demas was physically present with Paul, his heart never was, in that he loved
the world more than God. The Bible tells us the truth about Demas: 2Ti 4:10 - For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed
unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. The
Bible tells us with absolute authority regarding any and all who love this
present world more than God. 1Jo 2:15 - Love not the world, neither the
things that are in the world. If
any man love the world, the love of the
Father is not in him. 1Jo 2:16 - For all that is in the world,
the lust of the
flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the
world. Later
on, Paul acknowledges Demas as a fellow laborer, which he did not do before. Therefore,
the return of Demas is not in any sense of or as a backslider returning, but in
the absolute sense of the salvation, of one who has repented and demonstrates
it in deed not word only. Phm 1:24 - Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers. The
story of Mark refusing to go with Paul was not in any way an issue of his backsliding.
It was a clear dispute between the two, that Mark did not want to go as
directed by Paul. Feel free to study this further on your own. (See 1Co 16:12 As
touching our brother Apollos,
I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not
at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient
time.) Sometimes Christians do not agree together on the timing and/or the place to go to
do the work. Act 3:19 - Repent ye therefore, and be converted,
that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from
the presence of the Lord;
Most
certainly, Judas Iscariot is not an example of “backsliding”, as he is fully described
as the son of perdition and a devil, proving he was never saved in the first
place.
The
false doctrine of new testament “backsliding” gives rise to horrific blasphemies regarding salvation, the first is that salvation is through personal power, work and will. Secondly, it blasphemes that God told a lie when He declared eternal
salvation, and life to all who have
faith in His only appointed Saviour. The final blasphemy is that the sinless
sacrifice of Jesus Christ in His once for all shed blood, death on the cross
and resurrection, is blasphemed to be insufficient, never final or eternal but
remains unfinished and powerless to save forever those who believe.
Again,
backsliding is found only in the Law of Moses and applied solely to the nation
of Israel. Backsliding is not found in the whole of the new testament of Jesus Christ.
Brothers
and sisters there is much more than can be posted here on the false doctrine of
new testament “backsliding” than I can post here, feel free to study further on
your own the numerous new testament scriptures that totally destroys the false
doctrine of new testament “backsliding”. Anyone claiming to have “backslid” or “lost”
their salvation absolutely never had it in the first place.
Heb 13:5 - Let your
conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such
things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Jhn
3:15 - That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have eternal life.
Heb 9:12 - Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by
his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. love serola

IN HEBREWS
As
mentioned before, holy people, the misinterpretation of the aforementioned scriptures and certain other scriptures also give rise to the false doctrine of
“backsliding”: (1 Tim. 4:1 1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,
that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed
to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having
their conscience seared with a hot iron.
The
Bible clearly states exactly who some of them ALL are who choose to depart from the
faith: 1Jo 2:19 - They went out from us, but they
were not of us; for if they had
been of us, they would no
doubt have continued with us:
but they went out, that
they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
Yes,
dearly beloveds, some of us might even know some or of people who was there
every time the church door opened, was a long- time member of a church, could
quote scripture, sang in the choir, donated faithfully to the church, who then left
the church completely. Some returned and came back, some did not, and for some
it was a revolving door of going in and out numerous times. The problem is that
as people we only see the outer appearance, but it is God who can see the motives
and intents of the heart. No one can fool God. For this reason, we are
commanded to firmly stand on the word of God correctly interpreted and lived. It
is God who sets the final, explicit, unchanging, uncompromising standards and
boundaries of whom He accepts or not as belonging to His eternal kingdom, no
one else has that authority. No one will ever arrive in hell by accident, God plainly
lays out His eternal truth for all.
None
will ever have any excuse for choosing to rebel by rejecting salvation in any
way manner or form whatsoever. In Hebrews as well as throughout scripture, God warns
the false brothers, and false sisters, so that they know the punishment they shall receive. God warns His people so they can warn them too. Believers grounded in the uncompromising truth of the Bible will not be misled or tricked by false doctrines concerning salvation.

Journey in Hebrews GOD’S ABSOLUTE
WARNING Pay Attention to Salvation
Heb 2:1Therefore we ought to give the more
earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should
let them slip. 2For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every
transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 3How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken
by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; 4God also bearing them witness,
both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy
Ghost, according to his own will?
Brothers
and sisters, the Bible both exhorts and warns us that God has given to us the
full knowledge, comprehension, and scripture necessary for us to know the
eternal truth about Salvation and the sole appointed Saviour of it the Son of
God, Jesus Christ, whom we preach through the everlasting gospel or new
testament of Jesus Christ.
For
this reason, all are forewarned that God will not take it lightly if anyone
purposely and impenitently casts away the eternal truth of salvation. The
penalty for willingly doing so will lead to everlasting damnation.
Here
God reminds us with many scriptures that God accepts no excuse for those who despite
being warned about the danger of disregarding the eternal truth of His final
and only Prophet of the last days choose to do so anyway.
Unfortunately,
some misinterpret the aforementioned verses to create the false doctrine of “backsliding”.
The Bible references many verses that rule out
the false doctrine of new testament “backsliding”, or salvation to be seen as a
revolving door that one goes in and out of as they will. Although we do find the
term of “backsliding” under and in the old covenant or Law of Moses as it was
applied to the nation of Israel, it cannot be transferred to/nor applied to
anyone claiming salvation in the new covenant or testament of Jesus Christ, as we
shall see. love serola

JOURNEY
IN HEBREWS-The Son Jesus Christ looks just like His father
Dearly
beloveds, God the Father frankly declares right early in Hebrews that His Son
Jesus Christ-looks like Him, is Co-creator-above/superior to angels, all men, and is to
be worshipped.
Jesus
Christ always glorifies and worships His Father. Now here in Hebrews God the
Father Himself without equivocation glorifies His Son as God to be worshipped also.
Heb 1: 6And again, when he bringeth in the
firstbeotten into the world, he saith, And let all
the angels of God worship him.
7And of the angels he saith, Who
maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
God
the Father declares that Jesus Christ is God the Son
8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for
ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness isthe sceptre of thy
kingdom.
9Thou hast loved righteousness,
and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed
thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
( Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.)
Heb
1: 10And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the
earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
Heb 1:11They shall perish; but thou
remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12And as a vesture shalt thou fold them
up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not
fail. 13But to which of the angels said he at
any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14Are they not all ministering spirits,
sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
(JESUS
IS THE WORD OF God 1Jo 1:1
That
which was from the beginning,
which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked
upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;)
(JESUS
CHRIST IS THE SECOND PERSON OF THE TRINITY: 1Jo 5:7
For
there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy
Ghost: and these three
are one.)
Brothers
and sisters, we leave this first chapter of Hebrews awestruck, breathless, and giving
love, worship, thanks and praise offerings to our Father God and to our Saviour
the Son of God, whom the Father has revealed to us in eternal splendor, beauty,
perfection, power and glory. Scripture backs up, interprets, and confirms
scripture that Jesus Christ is God the Son, and second person of the Trinity. love serola

JOURNEY
IN HEBREWS-Only One sole, exclusive Saviour appointed by God for all eternity.
Heb
1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person,
and upholding all things by the word of his power, when
he had by himself purged our sins sat down on the right hand of the
Majesty on high….
Brothers
and sisters, some misinterpret the following verse to mean that Jesus Christ
ordained water baptism as the means to save people, therefore they also greatly
err because Jesus Christ absolutely by Himself purged our sins, according to
the inerrant word of the Bible. What this means is that anyone who does not
attribute their salvation to Jesus Christ alone is still unsaved and dead in
their sins.
Act
2:38 -
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name
of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost.
I know some people truly and sincerely believe that Acts
2:38 teaches water baptism is the means of salvation and receiving the gift of
the Holy Spirit, either in addition to or without faith in Jesus Christ. However,
all such teachings are false, and those who believe this falsehood are still
unsaved and dead in their sins.
The meaning of Acts 2:38 is clearly given in the
aforementioned and many other verses in
the Bible to prevent anyone from believing in error that God purposed water baptism in any way
manner or form as the means of salvation and receiving the gift of the Holy
Spirit: the bible continues after this verse in the following manner, Act 10:47 -
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Act
2:40 - And with many other words did he testify and
exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Act
2:41 - Then they that gladly received his word were
baptized: and the same day there were added unto
them about three thousand souls.
These people received water baptism AFTER they heard the
gospel message, believed in and on Jesus Christ as their Saviour, then were
baptized in water. Most certainly to rule out water baptism as a means of salvation the Bible gives us the first
example of those receiving the Holy Spirit was before they were baptized in
water.
The Bible absolutely upholds faith in Jesus Christ God’s
sole appointed Saviour as the sole absolute, explicit, exclusive, eternal means
of salvation, never water baptism which is an ordinance of the church for all
believers but never ever a means of salvation. What should anyone do who in
error thought they were saved through water baptism? First of all repent of
unbelief and come believing the truth: Jhn 14:6 Jesus
saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
God
is not drawing men to be saved by water baptism, or any other means except His
only begotten Son Jesus Christ. Again, God is drawing all men to His Son whom
He has appointed the sole Saviour for all who believe in Him.
Jhn 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Mar
16:16 He
that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth
not shall be damned. (Note God’s penalty for impenitent unbelief).
The baptism Lord Jesus mentioned here is the baptism of the Holy Spirit not
water baptism, further confirmed in the following verses: .
Mar
1:8 I
indeed have baptized you
with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Act
1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not
many days hence.
Act
2:2 And
suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it
filled all the house where they were sitting.
Act
2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven
tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Act
2:4 And
they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other
tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
There
are too many infallible proofs in scripture than I can post here that proves
that there is no salvation by any means other than faith in Jesus Christ. What
this means without any doubt is that those who either add or take away from
this final, finished, explicit, exclusive, and eternal truth still remain unsaved and dead in their sins.
Dearly
beloveds let us continually preach, teach, and live the Bible, being rooted in
the first principles of Jesus Christ and growing on in steadfast maturity: A Call to Maturity
Heb 6: 1Therefore leaving the
principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying
again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,2Of
the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the
dead, and of eternal judgment. 3And this will we do, if
God permit.

JOURNEY
IN HEBREWS
Heb 1: 1 God who at sundry times and in divers
manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these
last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things,
by whom also he made the worlds…
The
Bible, holy people, makes it absolutely clear these are the last days, Jesus
Christ alone is the Sole Appointed Prophet who speaks for God. What this means is that the gift of prophesy
to the church does not establish the office of the human prophet. Any and all
prophetic utterances in the church is to edify the church but cannot be
accepted if it does not agree with scripture. The gift of prophesy is to be
used in an orderly fashion and must all be tested for biblical truth. Please
feel free to study the gift of prophesy further on your own.
Dearly
beloveds, God today is not calling men to those falsely claiming to hold the
office of the prophet, instead God is warning men against them.
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive
many.
Mat 24:24 For there shall
arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and
wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Luk 6:26 - Woe unto you, when all men shall speak
well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
2Pe 2:1 - But there were false prophets also among
the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall
bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and
bring upon themselves swift destruction.
1Jo 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but
try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone
out into the world. love serola
