REGENERATION IN JESUS CHRIST, NOT RECOVERY
Brothers and sisters, Lord Jesus teaches
us all that the first step of dealing with sin in our lives is to Repent.
Most of us know this, but others still
need to understand and learn that repentance has nothing to do with condemnation,
because God never condemns His people: Jhn 5:24 - Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent
me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is
passed from death unto life.
Rom 8:1 - There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Walk: To regulate our lives, to live
habitually in conduct, character, manner of life, following consistently after
the example of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: Mat 16:24 - Then
said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
1Pe 2:21 - For
even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us
an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Repentance has nothing to do with losing one’s
salvation or fellowship with God: Jhn 10:28 - And
I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall
any man pluck them out of my hand.
Heb 13: 5Let your conversation be without
covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for
he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6So that we may boldly say,
The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do
unto me.
Jde 1:24 - Now
unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless
before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy…
Fellowship, for the believer with God is
eternal and cannot be broken, seeing that God lives in His people: Jhn 17:23 - I in them,
and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and
that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as
thou hast loved me.
Jhn 17:26 - And I have
declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that
the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Jhn 14:16 - And
I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may
abide with you for ever; 17 - Even the
Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not,
neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in
you.
1Co 3:16 - Know
ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Repentance is not about asking for God’s
forgiveness over and over, Lord Jesus has taken care of all of our sin, in that
He died bodily and shed His sinless blood on the cross to pay for our sins, and
rose again.
Amp1 John 5: 18We know [with confidence]
that anyone born of God does not habitually sin; but He
(Jesus) who was born of God [carefully] keeps and protects
him, and the evil one does not touch him.
Dearly beloveds, it is very important to
understand what repentance is not so that we do not insult and displease God in
ignorance of all He has accomplished for us through His Son our only Saviour Jesus
Christ. Just as we may have saturated our minds in sin, so we must take time to
saturate our minds with the healing truth of God’s word out of love and trust
in Him.

REGENERATION IN JESUS CHRIST, NOT RECOVERY
2 John 1: 7For many deceivers are entered
into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is
a deceiver and an antichrist. 8Look
to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we
receive a full reward. 9Whosoever
transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that
abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10If there come any unto you,
and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house,
neither bid him God speed: 11For
he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Receive: to closely associate with one's
self as companion, attendant.
He that biddeth: to affirm, approve, welcome,
encourage.
God speed: to rejoice, be glad, to
rejoice exceedingly, to be well, thrive.
Partaker: to enter into fellowship, join
one's self to an associate, make one's self a sharer or partner.
The Bible of and by God, dearly beloveds,
we know, is given to us the spiritual people of Lord Jesus Christ. We are
absolutely not part spiritual and part natural- we are best understood as
regenerated people made spiritual by God, but who still retain our natural
bodies, (body of sin), which bodies shall be changed at the coming of Christ,
to be like His. Nevertheless, until then, we are clearly instructed by God, to
live according to the Spirit not by the flesh or our old dead carnal nature. Gal 2:20 - I
am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith
of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Amp:
1 Cor 3:1However,
brothers and sisters, I could not talk to you as to spiritual people, but
[only] as to [a]worldly
people [dominated by human nature], mere infants [in the new
life] in Christ! 2I
fed you with milk, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive
it. Even now you are still not ready. 3You are still [b]worldly
[controlled by ordinary impulses, the sinful capacity].
Amp: Heb 5: 13For everyone who lives on
milk is [doctrinally inexperienced and] unskilled in the word of righteousness,
since he is a spiritual infant. 14But solid food is for the
[spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish
between what is morally good and what is evil.
Gal 6:1 - Brethren,
if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an
one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Fault: a lapse or deviation from truth and
uprightness, a sin, misdeed.
Ye which are spiritual: regenerated, non-carnal,
one who is filled with and governed by the Spirit of God.
Restore: to render, i.e. to fit, sound,
complete, to mend (what has been broken or rent), to
repair, complete, equip, put in order, arrange, adjust: ethically: to
strengthen, perfect, complete, make one what he ought to be.
The Lord, holy people, has appointed us in
this work together of restoration for one another whenever it is needed.
Milk is good for babies, but at some point,
brethren, we know that meat is absolutely necessary if the baby is to attain
proper growth to adulthood. Initially this study started with one addiction,
but highlighted others along the way. God calls all of them sin. No Christian is
a victim of sin and absolutely nothing in scripture supports a believer being
victims of sin. For the brother or sister that is ready for the meat of the
word-Lord Jesus shows His people the way out by His word and by His power.

REGENERATION THROUGH
JESUS CHRIST, NOT RECOVERY
Moving forward towards the end of this
study, holy people, although most of us know this, but not all yet, God is in
eternal full control of His church, absolutely not ever me, you, or us. There are a few amongst us who are slow to accept/believe
that God alone is in charge of His church, or who feel in error, that God is
out of touch and too uptight in some of His commands regarding sin. Therefore,
such persons in error think, although they might be Christians, that in light
of so-called modern times, and/or science so-called, Christians should get in
step with the world, culture, science etc. instead of the absolute word of God.
Those claiming to be Christians, but seek
friendship with the world and are unrepentant, God sees all such as His
enemies, and adversaries: Jas 4:4 - Ye
adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the
world is enmity with God? whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
However, dearly beloveds, God instructs any
Christian who in error thinks this way to repent. God commands that true
repentance is always reflected in consistent obedience to Him: 2 Cor 6:14 Stop
forming inappropriate relationships with unbelievers. Can right and wrong be
partners? Can light have anything in common with darkness? 15Can
Christ agree with the devil? Can a believer share life with an unbeliever?
16Can
God's temple contain false gods? Clearly, we are the temple of the living God.
As God said, "I will live and walk among them. I will be their God, and
they will be my people."
17The
Lord says, "Get away from unbelievers. Separate yourselves from them. Have
nothing to do with anything unclean. Then I will welcome you."
18The Lord Almighty says, "I will be
your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters.
