STUDIES IN HEBREWS
CHAPTER 10 VS 19-22
Saints (G40 hagios), love, blessings, and peace to you in the
Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ God the Son of God. Always, I am thankful
for your patience in these studies: Luk 21:19; Rom 5:4; Rom 8:25; Rom 15:4
Rom 15:5: Jas 1:4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye
may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Brothers and sisters, say it with me, God our Father we your
children, pour out lavish love offerings, Praises, thanks, blessings, honor and
glory to you forever. We praise and thank you for giving us Your Lamb of the
tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ God the Son of God, eternal Saviour High
Priest/Mediator who has washed us in His own sinless blood and has made us His
family and priests of His eternal kingdom forever.
We know that every breath that we take comes from the power
of Lord Jesus: Heb
1:3. Whether rich or poor in time God our Father causes all to return to
the soil from which we were made and taken by Him. God told us who His Son
Jesus is, the last Adam, the faithful husband/protector of His beloved Bride
His church.
Yes, dearly beloveds we know that our first human father,
that first Adam, was born a living soul having not the spirit, who in his sin of rebellion against God did not
care about or love his bride, but instead brought death and the curse to His
bride and all their progeny thereafter.
Therefore, through that first Adam we are all made genetic sinners from the day
of conception, for in the first Adam all
sin, all die. However, through Christ our ever- living Saviour, He loves and
protects His Bride, forgiving her of all sin
through His everlasting atonement, eternal life, peace and reconciliation with God
our Father, that she can serve Him acceptably out of love and trust in Him.
God commands us to stay within the safety of scripture in everything, holy brethren.
Many of my first helpers in the faith have retired or gone on to be with the
Lord. However, dearly beloveds, those pastors and elders both past and present, in dedication to Jesus
in love, in their ministry, taught me and many others the truth of scripture, watched
over our souls and faith, relentlessly encouraged us to feed ourselves as well
as receiving their intense feeding us with the scriptures. I thank our great Shepherd
Jesus Christ for all the love He poured into me and others through these godly
men, who taught me to love Jesus, my forever family, all men, and to place my
trust in Jesus above all others, and to know Him for myself through His Word that I might live by His Word.
Some of these pastors and elders had Bible school training,
most never mentioned it, or when they did it was brief, rare and in passing. It
did not matter whether any man had special training or not they tested tried
and proved every single one to prove fitness to minister over the flock of God
or not.
They taught me that although they had the greater
responsibility, all Christians are equal, No Christian is above church
discipline, all Christians must learn and share the gospel no degree of any
kind necessary. While none were judged for having a degree, a degree means nothing
in God’s true house because God’s standard is higher than man's standard. In other
words, man's standard is too low to ever be trusted: Luk 16:15.
I learned through them the eternal truth that God’s holiness is
explicit, exhaustive, and exclusive to God, His kingdom, His people and
absolutely nothing outside of it. God never made a school holy or gave it any
authority to usurp the duties of the true church to install anyone into the ministry
of Jesus Christ the eternal Owner and Head of the church-speaking of the body
of Christ here not any building.
What shall we make of some today who come amongst us not as a member of God's family of priests, not as brothers and sisters under God, not as true ministers
ordained through the presbytery, but so called ministers and scholars setting
themselves up as superior to others, based on a degree that they paid for, whose
teachers were unlikely to even remember them after they paid their required
fees to purchase their degree. Certainly, had they not paid they would never
have gotten their degree, although some might receive honorary degrees. In every
state one can purchase ordination into ministry without ever having to go
to any school, with little or no scrutiny as to their fitness.
I recount this in love, and truth for God’s sake, not to hurt
or offend any that might hold such degrees-if the shoe does not fit do not put
it on. However, in the house of God the Bible
is not a textbook or subject to intellectual debate, it is an absolute declaration of absolute eternal inerrant truth for the whole earth from God, who has set it up with its gifts, Eph 4:11-16, to prepare a people to share/bring the gospel message to the world,
to save as many as will believe in His Son from the day of wrath, and deliver
them into His eternal kingdom.
We know, holy brethren, that the physical world was created from
the spiritual. The physical world is doomed and will be destroyed by God with everything not belonging to Him at His appointed time. Only God’s
spiritual kingdom and spiritual people will remain with Him for all eternity. We
have absolutely no need to be concerned with when God will come, didn’t He tell us He is the only
one who knows when He will come? Therefore, we are commanded by God to BE READY for Him anytime
He chooses to show up: Mat 24:44; Luk 12:40.
Those who are ready to move forward to maturity are not
trying to twist the 1 John 1: 9 declaration to mean that Christians after salvation,
have to go back to confessing each sin to restore fellowship, be forgiven, and made right
with God for every sin they commit, like those under the Law because in His declarations
John plainly states: 1Jo 3:6; 1Jo 3:8; 1Jo 5:18,
which puts 1 John in full and absolute agreement with the New Covenant: Heb 10:14-18,
and the Christian confession of the believer at salvation: Rom 10:8-13.
Great is the power of the blood of Jesus. He is not bound by
time space and distance. His blood covers all past present and future sins blotting
them out as though they never happened. The mortal believer is left to live and
go through his allotted time given him on earth by God where he will come to places
where he can or will sin. God will test try and prove every believer to see
that his after- salvation picture shows that he is a new creature or not. God will test try and prove every believer to see whether their faith is genuine or not, just as He tested tried and proved His own biological Son Jesus Christ who never sinned. Feel
free to see repentance after salvation; flesh vs spirit; old man vs new man etc.
Heb10:19Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the
holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Boldness: free and fearless confidence, cheerful courage, assurance.
Amen praise our Lord Jesus who has washed us in His own blood so that we can freely with grateful hearts, boldness and joy without fear of being rejected or killed, enter into the holiest in heaven that true tabernacle made by God- even our guilt
and shame forever washed away.
Heb 10:20By a
new and living way, which he hath consecrated for
us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Jesus is the God of life. He protects His bride, there was no way that He was not going to rescue her. His way is a NEW AND LIVING way because He ever lives to keep
His people.
At the death of Jesus Christ, we know, holy brethren, that the earthly tabernacle curtain was rent
clean from top to bottom. Also, Lord Jesus when the side of His flesh was
rent and his sinless blood flowed out the way into the holiest in the true
tabernacle in heaven made by God was opened to all believers through the rent curtain
of His flesh, Praise His Name.
Heb 10:21And having an
high priest over the house of God;
Heb 10:22Let us
draw near with a true heart in full assurance of
faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience, and our bodies washed with
pure water.
Holy brethren, seeing we have such an all- powerful High
Priest, all Man, all God all the time forever, who has the keys of life, death, and of hell itself, who loves us with
everything in Him and has given us all of Himself, let us come running to Him
with hearts fully convicted, convinced and fully persuaded in faith and trust
in Him, our bodies washed with the pure water of the Word, our hearts sprinkled
from an evil conscience and an evil heart of unbelief harboring doubt, seeing it is impossible for God to lie, trick or deceive anyone.

STUDIES IN HEBREWS
CHAPTER 10 VS 19
Brothers and sisters, we know that Lord Jesus is our living
God, and we live and move and have our being in Him. Jesus all man, all God, all
the time, did not just beat the odds against Him, He thoroughly demolished
them and took all of them out of the way, defeating every enemy both human and
demon to save all who will believe in Him, and rescue them from death and eternal punishment in the
wrath of God. Jesus is beyond amazing, He gave all of Himself to save us
holding nothing back, praise and thanks be to His Holy Name.
Yes, praise and thank Him, holy brethren, for Jesus drank the
cup given to Him by God the Father, and supped up the dregs clean. It is
because of His faithfulness, mercy and love that all who believe in Him can
surely rest confident in all the blessings and hope of God. My heart breaks
into a thousand pieces, and those pieces shatter too whenever I read about our
Lord’s death. He died so that me, you, us, all who believe in Him don’t have to
die. He rose again to eternal life that we too and all who believe in Him will
have eternal life also.
Jesus preached the whole gospel as well as all of His
apostles and disciples. Jesus, His apostles did everything they could to save the
lost. Jesus wept, and Paul wished God would curse him in the stead of his
unbelieving, hard hearted Jewish brethren, knowing the horror of God’s everlasting
punishment of the wicked in torment, brimstone and fire who reject salvation: Luk 19:41And when he
was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
42 saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at
least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they
are hid from thine eyes.
Rom 9:1 I
say the truth in Christ, I
lie not, my conscience also
bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow
in my heart. 3For I could
wish that
myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to
the flesh:
Brothers and sisters, let us thank and praise our Father continually for
the multitude of faithful elders, pastors, teachers, given oversight of the
flock and the ministry of the gospel who knowing the end of the wicked weep
over those who reject the gospel message, often and clearly given to them. Let
us also keep them that have oversight of the flock, along with brothers and
sisters whose family, friends or others will not believe the gospel shared often
with them, that God will remove their grief and distress in knowing that they
have done all that can be done in sharing the gospel. Lord, give them wisdom to
know that when the lost outright reject
the message, and or threaten violence, that it is necessary to move forward to
others that might hear and believe the gospel.
Some might say that telling people they will go to hell if
they reject the gospel is scaring people to believe the gospel. All I can say is
I thank and praise our Father for the faithful pastors who witnessed the whole gospel and
warned me of hell fire should I reject it, for I had seen it in error as simply
an invitation that I had the option to refuse to believe or accept without
consequences.
We know, brethren, that
Lord Jesus didn’t worry about people being scared into believing the gospel. Didn’t
Jesus warn everyone about who His Daddy is? Luk 12:5; Luk 16:23. Didn’t
Moses Warn Israel? 2Ki 17:39.
Although God spoke to Israel sweetly of the blessings of obedience to His
Covenant, didn’t He warn them of the curses of disobedience? Deu 28:1-68; Deu 29. Wasn’t
Israel an eyewitness in 3D, surround sound and living color seeing God show up,
show off and throw down the enemy of God, the mightiest military the world had at that time. Didn’t
God before the eyes of Israel drown the
great ruler Pharoah with his army in the sea like common rats?
Therefore, when God told Israel bluntly who He is they
believed Him: Deu
32:39 See now that I, even I, am he,
and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make
alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that
can deliver out of my hand. Don't mess with God.
Therefore, holy brethren, and dearly beloveds, God commands us
also to bring share all of the gospel too with its blessings and warnings, this is not optional, has no alternatives or plan b's.
Brothers and sisters, we are in the second year of this study.
Let us go forth carried in the arms of God our Father to dine again at the Lord’s
table, the Holy Spirit having already prepared spiritual food of the gospel for us, that we might be filled spiritually to the full with the knowledge and
understanding of God and be strengthened richly thereby: Aramaic
Bible in Plain English Yeshua
answered and said to him, “It is written: a man does not live by bread alone,
but by every utterance of God.”
Be sure to eat heartily, brethren, of the rich spiritual food of the gospel.
You can lick your plate if you like, ask for seconds, and even take as much
home as you like.
Brothers and sisters, it is necessary to reflect back a bit
to comprehensively grasp why God commands us to move forward to grace: in the earthly
tabernacle made with hands under the Law, that glorious ministry of death, the merely
human high priest had to be called of God, had to be male, had to be unblemished physically. He was washed with water, anointed
with oil and consecrated by being sprinkled with blood. He alone could enter
the holiest once each year. God would kill the high priest if he came too often
beyond once a year into the holiest: Lev 16:2. The high priest/mediator had to offer first for his
own sins before that of the people: Lev 9:7. God
would kill the high priest if he did not perform each step of the yearly atonement
perfectly from beginning to end: Lev 16:13. God would kill the high priest if he dared try
to rest in the holiest: Exo 28:35.
Obedience was strict and punishment quick under the law: Exo 28:35. God
killed two of the sons of Aaron for offering strange fire upon the altar: Lev 10:1-2. Aaron
and Moses never made it to the promised land; God killed Aaron and his brother
Moses, that great prophet for the sin of rebellion. We note that Moses only
slipped up once, and that was one time too many for God.
The purpose of the yearly atonement was not to show off the
gorgeous apparel of the high priest or a beautiful ceremony to admire, it was to keep Israel alive
and safe from the wrath of God. God would destroy Israel if the high
priest failed to make a perfect yearly atonement. The atonement of the yearly
day of atonement, only
lasted a day, because the animal blood rotted away and lost its efficacy.
The rest of the year thereafter, until the next day of the yearly atonement, when any of the people sinned ignorantly it was
necessary for them to confess to the priest who would make the appropriate
offering of an atonement for them. However, willful sins were punished by death. Understand, dearly beloveds, there were no do it yourself atonements, that is the sinner could not confess his sin privately to himself, and on his own offer up an atonement to God for himself to be forgiven of God. The Law was relentlessly unchanging, harsh and rigorous, the people did not have direct access to God under the Law. It is of the utmost importance to grasp that only through the Levitical priest/atonement could the sinner obtain the forgiveness of sins from God.
God has left us all the good, bad, and really, really ugly
story of Israel after the flesh under the Law, that none of us should desire or be
tempted to think even remotely that we can be made righteous by it. It didn’t work
for Israel, and it won’t work for us or anyone else either, God guarantees it
won’t: 1Ti 1:9-10.
Dearly beloveds, while we can know and learn much from the Law as well as all of scripture, again, we should be fully convinced, convicted and persuaded, that Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness: Rom 10:4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to
every one that believeth.
I pray that none will be left behind by looking to the Law but will
come forward with all the brethren to Lord Jesus Christ as God our Father commands to find mercy, peace,
reconciliation and salvation in His blood. Next a different holiest in a
different tabernacle: Heb 10:19Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into
the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

STUDIES IN HEBREWS
CHAPTER 10 VS 11-18
Brothers and sisters, family of God, peace, power, and love
to you in the name of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ God the Son of God. Let
us rejoice in the abundant love, mercy, truth and light of our Father God, who
is our strength and has given us His Son, through whom He has bestowed upon us
all the promises/blessings of God in Him.
I had a sudden occurrence of the deepest feelings of great
doom, terror, dread, horror all mixed with an unspeakable sense of utter helplessness.
I immediately went to the Lord in prayer standing on various Bible verses and ending
with: 2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the
spirit of fear; but of power, and of
love, and of a sound mind.
I. sound mind: an admonishing or
calling to soundness of mind, to moderation and self-control.
II.self-control, moderation.
The great feelings of doom, gloominess, and terrible fear
left me, holy brethren. However, the utter feeling of helplessness remained
heavy upon me and I found myself weeping before the Lord. This went on for
several days, I realized I had hidden from myself the reason for weeping in utter
helplessness, because I could not face the reason for it.
Again, I prayed to Lord Jesus to help me face whatever it
was that I needed to face. My understanding was opened and in thankfulness I
faced the unadulterated stark truth, eternal reality that there have been
people in the past and continuing in the present who would knowing the truth of
God still reject it, refuse to believe it and at death would go to hell to
await the final doom/judgment in the lake of fire to burn forever.
I agreed with God: Eze 18:32For I
have no pleasure in the death of him that
dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves,
and live ye.
2Pe 3:9 The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some
men count slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that
any should perish, but that all should
come to repentance.
Jhn 3:16For God so loved the
world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The feeling of helplessness left me, and my joy in the Lord
returned fully to me. Still, although it is hard to face, and hurts to know
that some will reject Christ and will go to hell, God is just and He is always
right in His judgment of both the good and the evil. However, God will never
force anyone to be saved who rejects Him, nor will He compromise His word or
bow down to any man, woman, creature, or thing. Therefore, those who reject Him
rightly deserve God’s wrath and eternal punishment.
God does command us to not
water down the gospel, or only preach the parts that will not offend or terrify
people. By obeying God and sharing the whole gospel some opposers might be saved: 2Ti 2:25 In meekness instructing those
that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will
give them repentance to the acknowledging of the
truth; 26 And that they
may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who
are taken captive by him at his will.
Jde 1:23And others save with fear, pulling them out
of the fire; hating even the
garment spotted by the flesh.
Dearly beloveds, we have to tell them the whole truth about
salvation, and the consequences of rejecting it, whether we or they like it or
not. God forbids us to withhold any part of the whole gospel message, doing so
is to ultimately create a false gospel that is injurious to the true gospel.
Saints (G40 hagios), throughout the book of Hebrews we find the
clear rigorous, surgically precise teaching method of Paul the apostle in comparing/contrasting Christ with all
others showing the superiority of the Christ above, better than all others. We
also find nearly 100 references of Old Testament books mentioned in the book of
Hebrews. God bluntly stamps every inch
of His kingdom as His. It is a theocracy in which He is Sovereign and has no voting booth for those who would like to disagree or change His rule.

Heb 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the

Again and again, the Bible keeps pounding away-NOTHING in the
Law then or now would ever abolish or permanently remove any sins which is
exactly as God intended: Rom 3:20; 1Ti 1:9; Gal
3.
Heb 10:12But this
man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat
down on the right hand of God;
Jesus Christ all man, all God, His one time perfect sacrifice
for sins make any more offerings for sins un-necessary.
Heb 10:13From

Yep, Jesus is relaxing, He finished His atoning work
perfectly, completely, and is sitting in honor on the throne on the right hand
of God His and our Father. 1Co 15:25. God
puts His enemies on notice, makes no threat to the wicked, but a sure
inescapable promise to His enemies who
pervert His atoning work the time will come when they will be eternally punished.
Heb 10:14For by
one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Christ has accomplished the holiness of His people forever: Col 2:10.
Heb 10:15Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had
said before,

put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will
I write them;
Heb
10:17And their sins and iniquities will I remember NO MORE.
Heb
10:18Now where remission of
these is, there is NO MOREoffering for sin.
There are some who in error refuse to preach/teach the above
verses out of fear and wrongly interpreting that it will lead the hearers to
think that they can sin freely, although the Bible makes it absolutely clear
that we are free to serve never to sin, absolutely forbidding habitual,
unrepentant sin which is the antithesis of the authentic Christian.
1: John 1: 9 can never be used to invalidate Heb 10: 17-18.
Instead John confirms Heb 10: 17-18: 1Jo 5:18 We know that whosoever is
born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
Amp 1 John 5:18 We know [with confidence]
that anyone born of God does not habitually sin; but He
(Jesus) who was born of God [carefully] keeps and protects
him, and the evil one does not touch him. love and truth, serola

STUDIES IN HEBREWS
CHAPTER 10 VS 1-10
Brothers and sisters, I give God thanks for you, love you so
much and appreciate your patience with me in this study. Say it with me
brethren: Our Father who has made us your forever family- a royal priesthood
through Jesus Christ God the Son of God our Saviour; we humbly, gratefully offer
you our fervent love, worship, praises, and thanks.
We adore you forever Father, Almighty God, Dread Sovereign
Lord, indestructible, unconquerable, Omnipotent Omnipresent Omniscient Possessor
of heaven and earth and all that is made in it whether it be physical or
spiritual.
We the sheep of your pastures and the work of your hands
humbly bow down before you always in thanks for your eternal life, hope, peace
reconciliation and the new world to come.
Brothers and sisters, let us go on to the Lord’s table to feast
on the Word in this study in the presence of God, the Holy Spirit ensuring that
none of us will leave Christ’s table hungry.
Lets reflect back again to remember Paul’s purpose in
reteaching the Hebrew Christians and helping us too: Heb 6:1 -
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto
perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead
works, and of faith toward God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on
of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this will we
do, if God permit.
We know, brethren, that we leave the principles of the doctrine
of Christ Not in the sense of learning and forgetting, or being a forgetful
hearer, but steadfast holding onto and rigorously applying these basic
foundational sustaining tenets of the faith so that they become natural, an
integral part of our lives, a way of living publicly and privately, as natural
as the life-giving act of breathing oxygen.
This foundation is absolutely necessary for all believers to
advance on to build upon and fully understand and comprehend the more difficult
tenets and deeper truths of scripture leading to Christian maturity in the
faith. God guarantees us that if we study, retain, and consistently live what
we learn over time He roots and establishes us immovable and steadfast in the
faith as mature Christians.
Dearly beloveds, God does not treat anyone as too delicate to
hear His whole truth. He tells all the good, bad, and ugly about everyone and
everything. He chronicles the astounding highs and astonishing lows of the
nation of Israel. Nevertheless, we gentiles cannot look down on them or somehow
elevate ourselves as better than them: Romans 3:1-31.
The bottom line of teaching, studying, believing, living the gospel is that by faith we all come to that blessed state of rest in the finished works of Christ in God, not in our works: Heb 4:10 For he
that is entered into his rest, he also hath
ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
We know that our salvation and inheritance is never judged, brethren, but guaranteed, eternal, fixed we cannot ever lose them as they are in the will or New Covenant
based on the works of Christ not our own.
God’s extras or rewards are based on our works. Some will get
rewards when their works survive God’s holy fire, and some will get a spanking
when their works are burned up in His holy fire proving the works worthless. We can
prevent our works from being burned up as worthless. Feel free to study on your
own the types of works God rewards and the standard by which their quality or
value is measured or counted worthless by God.
Heb 10:1For the
law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the
very image of the things, can never with
those sacrifices which they offered year by
year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
Holy people look- Paul continues to fire away! Nothing,
absolutely nothing in the law has any value to God for permanent righteousness-
not the law, and absolutely none of it sacrifices.
Heb 10:2 For
then would they not have ceased to be
offered? because that the
worshippers once purged should have
had no more conscience of sins.
No one should buy cattle thinking to start up animal
sacrifices to be forgiven of sins in the sight of God. Had animal sacrifice assuaged
the guilty consciousness of the nation, they would have had no further need of
sacrifices.
Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices
there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
Indeed, brethren, it was those very sacrifices commanded by God yearly that reminded Israel that they were sinners who could never permanently please God.
Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of
bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Wow my head!! Paul is hammering in the eternal truth that it
does not matter how many nor how long the blood of animals should be offered
for sins, (cancel any purchases for a cattle ranch), those sacrifices will
never take away any sins for all eternity, think IMPOSSIBLE.
Heb 10:5 Wherefore when
he cometh into the world, he
saith, Sacrifice and offering thou
wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
We have it straight from Lord Jesus, who heard it straight
from God His Father don’t come trying to give Him any kind of animal sacrifice
He doesn’t want it and will never accept it. Instead look to Christ who gave
His body for us all.
Heb 10:6 In
burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou
hast had no pleasure.
Burnt offerings and sacrifices may please men but God makes
it plain they are repugnant to Him and He has no pleasure in any of them:
1Sa 15:22 And
Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and
sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to
obey is better than sacrifice, and to
hearken than the fat of rams.
Heb 10:7 Then said
I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is
written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Here Christ speaks of God’s prophecy written beforehand that
He is the ONE who
has come and whom God can trust to do His will. (Isa 61:1).
Heb 10:8 Above when
he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt
offerings and offering for sin thou
wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein;
which are offered by the law;
Brothers and sisters, again take heed, notice the severe repetition
to pound this truth into all- God is absolutely not accepting any sacrifices or
burnt offerings under the law, they do not please Him at all.
Heb 10:9 Then said
he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He
taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
I also like the way the Amp Bible puts the above verse: “BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL.” [And so] He does away with the first [covenant as a means of atoning for sin based on animal sacrifices] so that He may inaugurate and establish the second [covenant by means of obedience]. 10And in accordance with this will [of God] we [who believe in the message of salvation] have been sanctified [that is, set apart as holy for God and His purposes] through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) once for all.
Look how laboriously to the nth degree that God makes it
absolutely clear that He has totally taken away the law so that the second
entirely new covenant (of grace) will stand forever for the forgiveness of all sins alone in
the sight of God.
Heb 10:10 By the
which will we are sanctified through the
offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
God accepts all that come through Christ no other person(s),
denominations etc., regardless of how much they might almost match or contain
some of the gospel truth. God doesn’t accept almost or some truth, although men
do to their destruction.
It is by the will of God that we are sanctified ONCE FOR ALL through
Christ’s work of eternal atonement.
I. Sanctified: to render or acknowledge, or to be venerable or
hallow.
II. To separate from profane things and dedicate to God.
A. consecrate things
to God.
B. dedicate people to
God.
III. to purify.
A. to purify by
expiation: free from the guilt of sin.
B. to purify
internally by renewing of the soul.
To make holy, i.e. purify or consecrate; (mentally) to
venerate:—hallow, be holy, sanctify.
There is no special program outside of the work of Christ that
sanctifies His people, it is done the moment one believes.
Jhn 17:19; Rom 15:16; 1Co 6:11 And such were some
of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye
are justified in the
name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of
our God.
Heb 2:11
For both he that sanctifieth and they who
are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he
is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Exo 31:15 Six days may
work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of
rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in
the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Israel was commanded to keep the sabbath holy under the law. The death penalty was the punishment for those who did not keep it. We will look more on this in upcoming verses of this chapter to comprehend that this is not the rest that Christians have under grace nor is it for those under grace.
Love and
truth, serola
