13:17Obey
them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for
your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and
not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Brothers and sisters, we come here a
second time in this chapter to the overseers of the church. Although it is a
brief verse, these Christians already knew full well, as we are also commanded
to know, that it holds much more content within the context of scriptures
regarding the standards and boundaries that God has set for the role of the
overseers of the church.
Just as our salvation is a free gift ( we
can’t say this too often, brethren) God gave the church servant leaders,
starting with the apostles, under the Head Apostle, Jesus Christ. Today,
however no living human being can meet the qualifications commanded by God to
take or to claim the office of the apostle, so we know this is a closed office as the Bible
absolutely declares: Act 1: 20For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his
habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let
another take.
Act 1:22 Beginning from the
baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be
ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. This
is the first qualification for the office of the apostle.
Act 1: 24And they prayed, and said, Thou,
Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast
chosen, 25That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which
Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 26And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon
Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Then there
is Paul the special apostle to the gentiles, called directly by Jesus Christ our
Lord, whom the Bible declares is the last apostle: 1 Cor 16:3For I delivered unto you first of
all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to
the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day
according to the scriptures: 5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the
twelve: 6After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of
whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due
time. 9For I am the least of the apostles,…
The Bible states clearly that the apostle
Paul is the last apostle, and gives all the details of the specific super
powers assigned to the apostles alone, as
well as the general powers they shared with the church as a whole which are still
existing by the command and authority of God to the church.
Brothers and sister, we give thanks to Jesus
for the apostles and remember their teachings of salvation through Jesus Christ
alone, which eternally remains as the sole foundation that they laid for the
whole church and all overseers to follow.
However, brothers and sisters, we know that
any one claiming to be an apostle today is either ignorant or just plain lying,
in either case it is still gross error, for it is absolutely impossible for a
mere human being to meet God’s required qualifications today for that office. It
is good, holy people, that we continue looking at the overseers appointed by Jesus
Christ as a gift for the church, to give a clear understanding of their office
and their extreme importance to the church as a whole.
Obey: be
persuaded, to be persuaded, to suffer one's self to be persuaded; to be induced
to believe: to have faith: in a thing, to believe, to be persuaded of a thing
concerning a person, to listen to, obey, yield to, comply with, to trust, have
confidence, be confident.
Submit yourselves: to resist no longer,
but to give way, yield (of combatants)
metaph. to yield to authority and
admonition, to submit.
They watch: to be sleepless, keep awake,
watch, to be circumspect, attentive, ready.
Give account: account, i.e. reckoning,
score, account, i.e. answer or explanation in reference to judgment.
Unprofitable for you: of no value, unprofitable,
hurtful, pernicious.

Heb 13: Sacrifices and Prayer
15By him therefore let us
offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our
lips giving thanks to his name. 16But
to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well
pleased.
It is clear, brothers and sisters, that God
commands explicitly that every Christian must be absolutely and profoundly
rooted in grace exclusively, eternally and never the Law of Moses. Christians have
no reason to imitate or appropriate any form of worship from the Law of Moses
or the Levitical priesthood.
Christians don’t have to buy a cattle
ranch to offer burnt offerings on an altar to get God to forgive them of their
sins. Jesus Christ is our living Altar to whom we as priests in His priesthood
do not offer Him dead animals. Instead we offer Him an entirely different sacrifice
that is living of ourselves and of our good deeds, not to get God to forgive us,
for His Son our Saviour has gained eternal forgiveness for us. Nor are our
sacrifices done out of fear of punishment, but out of love for the eternal
forgiveness we all have received through faith in His name: Rom 12:1 I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your
reasonable service.
Dearly beloveds as priests under our Saviour
and high priest Jesus Christ we also have the authority to present an unlimited
offering to Him: Heb 13:15 By
him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is,
the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Christians don’t have to be envious of Israel
God’s chosen people, because Christians are now chosen too by God, through
faith in His Son and only Saviour Jesus Christ: Rom 9:24 Even
us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
Rom 9:25 As
he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people;
and her beloved, which was not beloved.
Rom 9:26And
it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye
are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living
God.
Brethren, Israel is no longer a nation exclusively
of itself, now it includes all believing Jews and all peoples who believe on Jesus
Christ, making us one people in God:
1Pe 2:9But ye are
a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light:
We do not see all Israel saved now, saints
(G40 hagios) but that is God’s plan, feel free to study this further on your
own, noting that He will not save them through the Law of Moses. In summation: Eph
2: One
in Christ
11Wherefore remember, that
ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called
Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by
hands; 12That at that
time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and
strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the
world: 13But now in
Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of
Christ. 14For he is our
peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of
partition between us; 15Having
abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained
in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making
peace; 16And
that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain
the enmity thereby: 17And
came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18For through him we both
have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
A Temple in the Lord
19Now therefore ye are no
more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the
household of God; 20And
are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ
himself being the chief corner stone; 21In whom all the building
fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22In whom ye also are
builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Heb 13: 12Wherefore
Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered
without the gate. 13Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp,
bearing his reproach. 14For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to
come.
BE
SETTLED IN GRACE NOT LAW
Holy people, God created Israel and God created the Law and gave it
to Moses, however, God never set up the Law of Moses to be the permanent means
to attain salvation by obedience to it at all. The Levitical high priest’s work
was never finished, could never be finished because their sacrifice of animal
blood to die for the sinner so that the sinner would not
have to die for His own sins, would corrupt and rot away and its efficacy would
be lost requiring another fresh sacrifice each year to atone for the sins of
the nation.
The Law of Moses is the school teacher and
the litmus test to show and prove that all men are sinners totally incapable of
saving themselves or having any righteousness of themselves.
God commands all who believe in His sole
appointed Saviour, Mediator and high priest over the house of God to be absolutely
settled, convicted, convinced, and fully persuaded to receive the free gift of
salvation by faith in Jesus Christ and not by any works of the Law:
Mar 16:16 - He that believeth and
is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Then Jesus
speaks frankly regarding those who falsely claim Moses by the Law as their
saviour:
Jhn 5:45 - Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there
is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 - For had ye believed Moses,
ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
Act 10:43 - To him give all the
prophets witness, that through his name
whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Acts 3: 17And now, brethren, I wot that
through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. 18But those things, which God
before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer,
he hath so fulfilled. 19Repent
ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the
times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20And he shall send Jesus Christ,
which before was preached unto you: 21Whom
the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God
hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 22For Moses truly said unto the
fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren,
like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23And it shall come to pass, that every
soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the
people.
Anyone who
impenitently rejects Jesus Christ will be destroyed and have no place in the
body of Christ. Brothers and sisters, this might seem harsh to some, but God said
it, it is the eternal unchanging truth that we are commanded to preach and
teach.
Therefore,
dearly beloveds, as His people settled absolutely, fully in the grace of Jesus
Christ, our sinless Saviour who suffered to pay for our sins, sanctified us,
washed us in His sinless blood without the camp; let us go to Him there where
His work is finally finished, and complete for all eternity in gaining us
eternal forgiveness of all sins and peace with God. We love Him with all our
hearts and remain eternally grateful to bear the reproach He took for us on the
cross, declaring ourselves to be aliens on earth-looking for our true home and
city whose builder and maker is God. love serola

Heb 13: 10We
have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
11For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by
the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
Brothers and sisters, 2Ti 2:15 Study to
shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
The Bible, holy people, we know is God’s word, we know that we are never to allow
anyone to devalue our digging down and study of applying of and living within
the boundaries and standards of the Bible throughout our lives.
People who discredit the authority of the Bible
do it so that they can be free to pervert the gospel by introducing into it
heretical and demonic teachings to deceive Christians. Christians, armed with
the knowledge and understanding of the inerrant truth of the Bible will not be
fooled by false teachers or heretics.
It might seem strange that Hebrews which
sledge hammers the inerrant truth of Jesus Christ being the only eternal Saviour
and source of salvation as commanded by God for all men who will believe, in
this last chapter brings up the Law. The burning of the bodies of the sacrificed animals and other materials
outside the camp would mark the completion and the successful end of the day of
atonement for Israel.
Yet it confirms God’s earlier command to His
people to be settled in grace as He balls up His mighty fist and brings it
crashing down destroying the altar in that earthly tabernacle of the Law for all
time.
Jesus in His earthly ministry went into
the temple and threw the money changers out saying: 17And he taught, saying
unto them, Is it not
written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Now in this last chapter of Hebrews God
strikes the final blow and makes it absolutely
clear that the whole Levitical priesthood of the Law of Moses in which only
Levites could serve, except those who had a physical blemish, such as halt,
blind etc. and only the nation of Israel had the right to tithe have no right to eat of the altar of Jesus Christ,
nor will God receive their corrupt inferior sacrifice of animal blood any more.
God
loves Israel. No Christian, no one should be angry at the Jews seeing our Saviour
Jesus Christ who is God and fully man is a Jew out of the tribe of Judah, and it
is Jews, the first Christians, out of
the nation of Israel He appointed as His disciples whom He sent as His
messengers of good news to the world.
Jesus changed the priesthood; Jesus is the
eternal High priest over the house of God for ever and the Bible tells among
other things: Jhn 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the
way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Furthermore,
brothers and sisters, God has commanded and declared for Israel and all
peoples: SAY IT WITH ME HOLY PEOPLE: Phl 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in
heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every
tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father.

Heb 13: 8Jesus Christ the same
yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9Be not carried about with
divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be
established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have
been occupied therein.
Brothers and
sisters, the Bible goes on and on boldly at full throttle in declaring absolutely for all time and exalting Jesus Christ as the sole Saviour and
only source of salvation for all who will believe. The Bible speaks in general
that any doctrine that departs from grace is never to be accepted by any
follower of Jesus Christ.
The Bible
also addresses absolutely and specifically that any doctrine, and any one,
declaring people to be made righteous through obeying the Law of Moses, is in
gross error and their worship of God is in vain, because no one can be
justified or saved by the Law:
Why
Israel did not profit from their preoccupation with meats and carnal worship,
Israel's Unbelief
Ro 9:30What shall we say then? That
the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to
righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31But Israel, which followed
after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32Wherefore? Because they sought it not by
faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that
stumblingstone;
33As it is written, Behold, I
lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him
shall not be ashamed.
The Bible
keeps on pounding away at the eternal absolute truth that: Rom 10:4 For
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that
believeth.
Anyone preaching
the Law of Moses for righteousness is foolish:
Brethren,
if Israel did not profit by choosing in error the Law of Moses over the Law of grace,
neither will any Christian:
Gal 3:1 O foolish
Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before
whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
3 Are ye so foolish? having
begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
The apostle
Paul minces no words here in saying so to speak guys you are fools, who put
witchcraft on you to make you turn in error from the gospel of Jesus Christ back
to the Law of Moses? That false doctrine did not come from God.
This still
holds true for anyone still, they are fools.
The eternal
truth and absolute reality is that through the grace of Jesus Christ:
Gal 3:28There
is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male
nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Heb 13: 7Remember them which have the rule
over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow,
considering the end of their conversation. 8Jesus Christ the same yesterday,
and to day, and for ever.
Brothers and sisters, the Bible here addresses
the kind of servant leaders who are worthy of our remembrance and whose
teachings we should follow and live publicly and privately-only those who teach
the absolute unchanging, inerrant, eternal, final and finished gospel of Jesus Christ.
And of course, scripture goes on in detail to describe the kind of person who
is never to be appointed a servant leader of any church, but feel free to study
that further on your own.
1 Thess 5: 12And we beseech you,
brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord,
and admonish you; 13And
to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at
peace among yourselves.
1Ti 5:17 - Let
the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they
who labour in the word and doctrine.
1Co 9:14 - Even
so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
Servant leaders
among others are a gift of God to the church:
Ro. 12: 6Having
then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether
prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7Or ministry,
let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8Or he that
exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he
that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
The
scripture is clear, brethren, the church
is commanded by God to appoint servant leaders over the church who are faithful
in the care of the flock and to feed the flock faithfully in the word, to train
the people in the knowledge of scripture, to comfort them and help them to live
the scriptures, and in doing good works and to help the needy, the poor, and in
such matters that they can allowable.
We ought
to gladly remember and follow there faithful teaching, but also to render to
them care and support for their needs, and help them in the work of the ministry
to the saints (G40 hagios).

Heb 13: 5Let your conversation be without
covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I
will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6So that we may boldly say, The Lord
is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Conversation: conduct, manner of life, character, deportment.
Col 3: 17And whatsoever ye do in word or
deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father
by him.
1 Cor 6: 9Know ye not that the unrighteous
shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with
mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor
extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11And
such were
some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in
the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Eph 4:22 - That ye put off concerning the
former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful
lusts;
1Pe 1:15 - But as he which hath called you
is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Covetousness: not greedy, not loving money: 1Ti 6:9 - But those who desire to be
rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts
which drown men in destruction and perdition.
We are commanded by God not to allow ourselves to
be greedy, lustful, obsessed with acquiring stuff to the point that it becomes
the overwhelming focus of our lives, instead of God, it is idolatry.
Content: to be satisfied, to be contented.
Brothers and sisters, the Bible has
carefully and explicitly laid out and absolutely set the standards and
boundaries for Christian conduct so that we easily know with laser beam accuracy
the way we should live holy lives in a perverse and ever downward spiraling
wicked world.
To be
content with what we have does not mean that we are commanded by God to live lives
of asceticism, severe self-denial, poverty or near poverty. Mar
10:29 - So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one
who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[fn] or
children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 “who shall not receive a
hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and
children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.
God warns Christians who are rich to keep
it in perspective, not use it for themselves only, and to and not let it go to
their heads: 1Ti 6:17 - Command those who are rich in this present age not to
be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who
gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 - Let them do good, that they be
rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,
As Christians we know how to use this
world without abusing it and to help our brothers and sisters and others who
are in need.
Dearly beloveds, really our contentment,
boldly, eternally rests in the love and
truth of Jesus Christ, our Almighty God. who will never leave or abandon us
regardless of our trials, situations, circumstances or conditions, which He
will work out for His glory and our good. Absolutely, we can, must and are
exhorted to be bold in His mighty power. If God is for us, brethren, who can be
against us? 1Jo 4:4 - You are of God, little children, and have overcome them,
because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
God’s people have no reason whatsoever to
be afraid of men, rather it is men who should be afraid, very afraid.
SAY IT WITH ME HOLY PEOPLE: 2Ti 4:18 - And
the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly
kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen! love serola

Brothers and sisters, we know that marriage
on earth between two people is ordained by God to reflect the true marriage of
the Lamb in the world to come. God has carefully laid out the standards and
boundaries of marriage on earth to be exclusively between a man and a woman
only. The Bible, holy people, is explicit regarding same sex unions: there is
absolutely no excuse for anyone doing it: Rom 1:20 For
the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and
Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
The Bible
condemns same sex unions as against nature: Rom 1:26
For this cause God gave them up
unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that
which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use
of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working
that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their
error which was meet.
The reason why people do these things,
brethren, is that they choose to reject God: Rom 1:28 And even as
they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a
reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
God speaks explicitly: Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things
are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do
them.
No, Christian has the right or even wants
to force people to obey God. Nevertheless, the death described here is
rejection by God from entering His kingdom and having eternal life, but instead
eternal condemnation in hell. No one is asking people to like what the Bible says,
but as Christians, we ought to obey God rather than men and have every right to
our faith, and to boldly resist those who seek to intimidate us, silence us,
and take away our right to our Christian faith.
Dearly beloveds, we know that polygamy in
the new covenant of Jesus Christ is forbidden along with breaking the marriage
covenant by adultery/ whore mongering. The husband is to follow the supreme
model of the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, who totally gave Himself for the church,
loves it, washes it, advocates for it, protects, nourishes, and cherishes it. The
wife should not be hesitant to submit to such a man even as Sarah submitted to
her husband Abraham. What should never be lost in the concept of submission is
the exhortation to all believers: Eph 5: 21Submitting yourselves one
to another in the fear of God.
Not everyone is marriage material, Christians
should not marry unbelievers. It is possible for one spouse to come to faith
within a marriage while the other does not. The Bible counsels on these. The Bible
details the kind of person that is fit or unfit to be involved with, so Christians
should not enter marriage based on superficialities, character matters more. Marriage
is not for everyone. However, the new covenant forbids anyone from commanding Christians
to abstain from marriage, and also to force people who do not want to marry to
do so.
Nevertheless,
God gives the gift of single life to some, and the gift of marriage to others. Whether
a Christian is single or married the Bible gives the highly detailed standards
and boundaries for each, including singles. widows, mixed marriages i.e. between
the saved and unsaved, divorce, remarriage. Sex outside of the marital dyad is absolutely forbidden.
Feel free to study this further on your
own.
The church as a whole, saints (G40 hagios)
is married to the Lord, who is the Head of the church, and all that we do while
we await His return must be to His glory and praise. There is absolutely no
biblical sanction of adultery or whore mongering: but whoremongers and
adulterers God will judge.

Heb 13: 4Marriage is
honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God
will judge.
The above
verse regarding marriage, although short was well understood and laid out
carefully in scripture to eternally contain it within the context of scripture
as a whole. Brothers and sisters, we know that marriage is not a human
construct that has no lasting validity, or can be reconfigured by people at
will to stretch it beyond the biblical standard and boundaries of it as set by
God himself. Marriage is honorable, sacred, inviolate, protected.
It seems
fitting then, to look at marriage in a panoramic view both horizontally and
vertically. The marriage in heaven, will not be the same as it is on earth.
Human marriage is the earthly image of the divine, just as the earthly
tabernacle was the image of the true tabernacle in heaven. God’s people, past,
present and future are the bride of Christ- the church. God made man in His
image, and marriage in the image of His own eternal permanent marriage with His
people.
Jesus Christ has permanently joined the church
in His own body. He is solicitous of her care, and her faithful protector. He
puts her tears in His bottles, her prayers in a golden vial. He totally gave
Himself for her in His death on the cross, the shedding of His blood and resurrection
to wash her from all her sins, to purify her with eternal holiness and give her
eternal life to dwell with Him forever.
Jesus is fabulously wealthy and extravagantly
preparing gifts and precious things for His bride: Jhn 14:2In my Father's house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you. 3And
if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto
myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4And whither I go ye know, and the
way ye know.
The Bible
gives us a reflection of the Bride in heaven, she will be changed in every way.
Mat 22:28 Therefore in the
resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. 29
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor
the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given
in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Luk 20:34 And Jesus answering
said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35
But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection
from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

Holy people,
Mankind is the face on the doomsday clock, it is his hands poised one minute
before doomsday, held back only by the almighty hand of God, who alone by His
power will have the last word regarding all mankind.
Brothers,
and sisters, slavery was and is just one of the many sins perpetrated by and
against mankind. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, came not to fix but to abolish
the sole source of sin-the inherited corrupt, vile, Adamic sin nature in the
hearts and minds of all men from birth. God never approved then or now of any
sin. Therefore, we can say with full confidence that the sin of slavery indeed
no sin was ever endorsed or approved by Jesus Christ and therefore all true
Christians are commanded to never give any sin validity or approval.
A portion
of the invisible kingdom of God, saints (G40 hagios), is made visible on earth
through all who believe on Him. His
kingdom manifests the reality that all men who believe in His Son Jesus Christ the Saviour, everywhere
are welcome in His kingdom, in which God unites all men within it as brothers,
who will love and care for one another, all being equal regardless of social
status, nation or ethnicity: Act 17:26 - And hath made
of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and
hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
None born
of Adam, brothers and sisters, could ever completely achieve or live the
reality of being true brothers on earth the way that God’s people can and do by
His power of love. Oh, yes, the secular world tried, are trying, but Adam
always shows up in the mix- in sex trafficking and outright slavery among other
evils still going on in the world.
1 Cor 7:21Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if
thou mayest be made free, use it rather. 22For he that is called in the Lord,
being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being
free, is Christ's servant. 23Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants
of men. 24Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with
God.
There is
no new testament teaching that any Christian slave should not seek to be free. In
the case of Onesimus a slave, Paul urged the Christian slave owner Philemon to receive Onesimus
not as a slave but as a brother: Phi 1: 15For
perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for
ever; 16Not
now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but
how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
There are
many passages regarding servitude in the new covenant of Jesus Christ, however,
how it was to be regarded by those born again of faith is clear as God gave
commandment to those in His kingdom: If a man is your brother, you do not have
to worry about him raping your wife and daughter and selling the children
resulting from it as products, you do not have to fear one day being lynched
and your dead body left dangling from a tree-if a man is truly your brother in
word and deed.
Dearly beloveds,
the message we must boldly speak without ceasing to everyone and also to those who really are only interested in condemning
God’s people, and to discredit the gospel of Jesus Christ, is to proclaim to
them the only source of freedom from the bondage and slavery of their sins, which
is to believe on the name of the Lord Jesus, who died on the cross, and rose
again, to pay for the sins of all men
who will believe in Him, so that they will be saved and forgiven of all their
sins.
Christianity,
we well know brethren, is not a product of western civilization, it is not a
white man’s gospel, or a black man’s gospel or any mere man’s gospel. It is the
eternal gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and sole Saviour come, to give
all who believe in Him, the free gift of salvation, and the forgiveness of all
their sins.
Our journey
will continue, holy people. If the Lord has inflamed you, if you have felt the
fire of His intense love for you, if you have felt provoked to love Him more
and more along the way, raise your hand and give our great God and Saviour Jesus
Christ a praise offering. ( I raised my hand and can’t stop praising Him, and don’t
want to).

Brothers
and sisters, all believers are filled with the Holy Spirit, and employed/enabled
by God to live, teach, and preach the gospel message of Jesus Christ, not just
the overseers of the church. God gave ALL of us the Bible to know and live His
absolute unchanging standard for righteousness, within the eternal boundaries
of HIS LOVE AND TRUTH
as set forth in scripture.
Mar 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall
be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of
him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his
Father with the holy angels.
We are
not ashamed of the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of
the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one
that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Dearly
beloveds, I along with the multitudes of Christians, will never apologize for
being a Christian, because there is absolutely never any reason to do so. Those
who have a beef with God come after Christians, but what they are really after
is to make Christians ashamed and to denounce the eternal absolute, love and
truth of the Bible. Their ultimate goal is for Christianity and the Bible
itself to be criminalized and altogether banned, erased from the public and
private forum as well: 1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the
cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the
power of God.
None of
these things should surprise us, holy people: Jhn 15:18
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated
you.
1Jo 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world
hate you.
Let us not miss a beat in loving all men and
continually spreading the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ who saves all
who will believe in Him.
Mankind
wears blinders lest he should see his horrifying, horrible, uncontrollable,
vile and poisonous inborn Adamic sin nature. Yes, sinful, cruel, physically
alive, but spiritually dead mankind. Mankind is the nightmare that makes the
world break out in a cold sweat. Mankind is the monster mankind fears, that is
embedded in the psyche of mankind.
Mankind
is the cannibal that will devour its own. Mankind is the mad, uncontrollable
Gollum that world powers frantically build bigger and more powerful weapons of
defence/offence against. Mankind is the serial killer, who keeps on reappearing
alone and in groups across the ages to mercilessly kill and wipe out even whole
groups of peoples no matter how many times he is vanquished. Mankind is the
death monger, bringing wars, death, defilement and destruction where ever he
goes. Even the heavens are defiled as mankind in pristine garments and powerful rockets jettison his feces as he
makes his way in space. Even the moon is left with pounds of his feces. Mankind
the builder of great cities, whose citizens nervously lock themselves in self-
made prisons for protection from mankind. Mankind who fears the dark, because
mankind might be lurking there. Mankind is the subliminal bogey man in fairy
tales, books, movies and the minds of all humanity. Oh, still, we want to exalt
him, in fact the “higher power” he worships so fervently looks suspiciously like
himself.
He is broken, He is hurting and we want to embrace
him, show him compassion, yet we recoil as he snarls, froth issues from his
lips and runs down his chin as he reveals the brute beast that he is, and we
know, we can’t fix him, and he cannot fix
himself.
If one was to write the true history of
mankind it would begin with not the ascent, but the descent and continued
degeneracy of mankind.
Jhn 2:24But Jesus did not commit
himself unto them, because he knew all men, 25And needed not that any
should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
Dearly
beloveds, we must answer the question of How shall we address those who falsely
claim that Christians approve of and promote slavery? Those who make these
claims really accusations against Christians must be boldly told that Jesus did
not come to earth to merely free men from physical bondage, He came to free men
from the bondage of sin and to save them from the wrath of God to come against
sinners, through faith in His name. We will not turn away from, nor be
distracted by superficial secular opposition of any kind to the eternal,
inerrant standard and foundational truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jhn 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom
is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants
fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not
from hence.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith
unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth
the will of my Father which is in heaven.
