As we continue on we, also note that Lord Jesus Christ gives the Ephesian church a very short to do list. Most telling He gives them absolutely no primer, no definition of who this first love is. We can safely conclude, brothers and sisters, that THIS IS THE LAST DAY OF CLASS, not only for the Ephesian church but for the rest of the churches as well. Lord Jesus is laying everything bare and naked. He is revealing all that had been previously hidden. Lord Jesus Christ is dealing with the churches still on earth.
For certain God the Son will take His church from the earth, but it cannot be denied that what is taking place here is the church still on earth. The Ephesian church had already received the full gospel lessons. Therefore there are no further questions, all had previously been answered. They need no further instruction for righteousness, for they had received all that they need to carry out Lord Jesus Christ’s final commands to the churches on earth.
Therefore we can conclude that prior to this last class as it were all the churches have been privy to and fully instructed in the ways of righteousness.
THE CHURCH AT THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST
The judgment seat of Christ is not the great white throne of God. These are two distinct and separate things. Only the redeemed shall appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Only the EVIL dead, or wicked shall appear before the great white throne of God.
The Ephesian church hears a marvelous, awesome message from Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Judge, at His judgment seat. Awesomely Jesus Christ is also the Advocate, and the Holy Spirit who indwells and enables His people is with Him. Before dealing with the unsaved, before doing anything the King gives His messages of assurances to His people, the redeemed. He tells them, and you and me and all believers everywhere:
Grace and peace to you, my people.
I Am Faithful, without fail.
I Am the First from the dead.
I Am the Sovereign Lord above all men.
I Am He who loved you and
I Am He who has washed you from your sins in my own blood.
I Am He who has made you kings and priests unto God, the Father.
I Am He who is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
I Am He which is and which was, and which is to come.
I Am the Almighty.
None but God knows when these events take place. However, God makes it clear that the time is at hand. Yet, one’s heart burns with love, joy and full faith in the One who has begun a good work in us. We are greatly assured that Lord Jesus will be faithful to finish that which He alone has begun in us.
