RECOVERY
Let’s face it, brothers and sisters,
the whole history of mankind through its sin nature is abundantly, well
documented as sordid, ugly and liberally
covered with the ashes of failed lives. Alcohol and drugs have played a part in
the story of mankind since its earliest beginning. Nevertheless, all kinds of
many different sins are rampant in the earth. Mankind, again, brethren, has an ugly sordid
history and as a whole intuitively understands that things are going to get far
worse on earth, with no expectations to the contrary.
Even now the leaders of countries
with the wealth and brain power to do so, are looking for ways to terraform
other planets to make them more hospitable to human life in case of a doomsday
event on earth, which they clearly believe and expect that it is only a matter
of time. Of course, holy people, we don’t have to wonder who will get first
dibs on escaping earth in case of a doomsday event. The idea of men
terraforming planets ought to cause many to be extremely ill at ease.
Anything that changes geography to
suit human interests can be called terraforming, even if it happens on earth,
which it has, and not necessarily in the interests of mankind. Although earth
has a long history of terraforming by people, some of it has been beneficial,
and some of it has had disastrous consequences. Holy people, for instance, on August 29, 2005,
there were over 50 failures of the levees and flood walls protecting New
Orleans, Louisiana and its suburbs following passage of Hurricane Katrina and
landfall in Mississippi, all concur that the primary cause of the flooding was
inadequate design and construction by the Corps of Engineers.
Oil and gas corporations have
aggressively adopted the technique known as hydraulic fracturing, or fracking,
to shatter subsurface shale rock and liberate the oil and gas trapped there.
But the process results in chemical laden wastewater. Parts of the central
United States now face a ground -shaking hazard equal to the famously unstable
terrain of California, due to the force of the waste water being forced into
deep wells underground. Besides the dangers of natural earth quakes we can now
add those caused by man himself. In 2011 in Oklahoma there was a magnitude 5.6
earthquake linked to wastewater injection. According to the U.S. Geological
Survey map seven million Americans are int danger from man-made earthquakes.
The moon has been looked at to
terraform but it is not possible, still there are private corporations
attempting to do somethings with the moon. Currently due to the expense the
taxpayers are not willing to sink the massive sums of money into doing stuff on
the moon in the face of massive homelessness, and other problems needing
attention right here on earth. God
created mankind to live and spread upon the earth instead Mankind in pride,
early on, dearly beloveds, lusted to ascend to have dominion in heaven: Gen 11:1-9
(1The whole
world had one language..). This was a
direct act of rebellion against God by mankind. We must note, saints (G40
hagios) God can easily handle mankind, but there is none who can ever handle God.
The question that some might ask is
will man make it into space to colonize the stars? The final answer is that it
doesn’t matter because God has a plan for all the stars, which His hands have
made: Rev 6:13-14. God
will not share His glory with anyone nor can any escape His hand: Psa 139:7-12. Some amongst us, holy people need to recover

RECOVERY
Mat 23:37, 37 O Jerusalem,
Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them
which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy
children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings,
and ye would not!
Brothers and sisters, we see the tremendous
compassion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who greatly desired even to
save His deadly enemies, and how it troubled Him that they refused.
Dearly beloveds, many of us have sorrow of
heart and continual heaviness and our cries/prayers to God continually rise
up to Him in hope and lament regarding those, even some relatives who resist
the good news of salvation through faith in His name. Yet, while the door is
still open, we know we are to still keep witnessing to the lost, and praying to
Lord Jesus Christ for the lost. Raise your hand brethren, if you have ever prayed
or continually pray, “Lord, don’t let it be too late”. I raised both of mine,
holy people. How many of us have wept in the night knowing the certain
consequence for those who die unsaved resisting salvation to the end?
Yet, brethren, God would caution us that
regardless of how sorry a person is in hell, he or she shall not be removed
from the consequences of it.
There
is such a thing as too much sympathy for the children of the devil in hell so
to speak. In Luke 16: 19-31,
the evil rich man did repent but not in a true sense. His motive was rooted in
helping his brothers evade the punishment of hell rather than urging them to
trust and obey God. There is no point in feeling sorry for the evil rich guy in
hell, although no one gloats about such matters, this is God’s absolute
business alone. Abraham did not express any such sentiments, and didn’t grant
the evil rich guys pleadings. God absolutely forbids anyone to go beyond scripture with private
interpretations and/ or personal opinions in this matter since we know the
final end of the wicked. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that Moses preached
about Jesus Christ: John 5: 46For
had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47But if ye believe not his
writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Contradictory personal opinions and
private interpretations stir up needless controversy. Evil people will absolutely
not get out of hell nor escape from the punishment of real fire just because
they feel the pain of guilt and anguish of the missed opportunity to receive
free salvation: Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the
creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are
without excuse:
In the end, we know brethren, that
personal opinions or private interpretations never trump the inerrant eternal
and unchanging truth of scripture, because it is absolutely certain, according
to the Bible, there will be an actual bodily resurrection of the saved and
unsaved.
Jhn 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have
done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done
evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
The Bible is absolutely clear evil
people will have real bodies and be ultimately, eternally damned in the lake of
fire. Real fire produces real smoke as in: Rev 14:11

the just punishment of the children of the devil in hell, which we cannot change, let us be about God’s
business of obeying God by declaring the gospel message, in its entirety, to
the living that they might be saved from eternal damnation.
If there are any amongst us that in
error believe that hell isn’t real, that punishment in hell is temporary or is not
physical but only mental, or that there are many roads to salvation, or that Jesus
plus something else saves: Now is the time to believe the absolute eternal
truth of God: Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross
for your sins and rose again. Confess this to Him with your mouth and believe
this eternal truth in your heart and He will forgive you of all your sins, save
you, fill you with the Holy Spirit, and make you a child of God, delivered from
the wrath of God to come. DON’T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW, TOMORROW MIGHT BE TOO LATE

RECOVERY
Mt 13: 36, 36 When Jesus had sent the
people away, he went into the house. His disciples came to him and said,
"Explain what the illustration of the weeds in the field
means." 37He
answered, "The one who plants the good seeds is the Son of Man. 38The field is the world. The
good seeds are those who belong to the kingdom. The weeds are those who belong
to the evil one. 39The
enemy who planted them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world. The
workers are angels. 40Just
as weeds are gathered and burned, so it will be at the end of time. 41The Son of Man will send his
angels. They will gather everything in his kingdom that causes people to sin
and everyone who does evil. 42The angels will throw them
into a blazing furnace. People will cry and be in extreme pain there. 43Then the people who have
God's approval will shine like the sun in their Father's kingdom. Let the
person who has ears listen!
Brothers and sisters, some might say they
thought this was a study about recovery, how did we get here? I know what you
mean, brethren, I had not thought even to go here, but through faith in Jesus Christ,
I have to turn to where the Holy Spirit directs: 2 Ti 2: 24, 24 And the servant of the
Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach,
patient, 25In
meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will
give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26And that they
may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by
him at his will.
I.Recover:
to return to
soberness
ἀνανήφω ananḗphō, an-an-ay'-fo;
from G303 and G3525; to become sober again, i.e. (figuratively)
regain (one's) senses:—recover self.
to be set free from the snare of the
devil and to return to a sound mind ['one's sober senses'].
Obviously, this is absolutely addressing only Christians: Jude 1: 24,
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from
falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of
his glory with exceeding joy, 25To
the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion
and power, both now and ever. Amen
Jesus Christ forever protects His people
from ever being lost. He teaches us along with the Holy Spirit, the truth of
scripture to prevent us from being misled by false doctrines. However, it is a
warning that the devil has evil children, originates the doctrines of devils to
deceive and turn people away from God. For
this reason, we should seek to tell the truth to those caught up in false doctrine,
that perhaps they will believe the truth, escape the snare of the devil and be
saved. If they reject the truth, they condemn themselves, as they have no cloak
for their sin of blatant unbelief.
The gospel is not an argument or quarrel, God’s
people agree fully with God’s desires that none should be lost. Holy people, we
know that false doctrines don’t come wrapped with a warning stating that it is
a false doctrine. People can sincerely believe that they are saved by believing
the lies of the devil, wrapped in nice sounding words spoken by false teachers,
that appeal to the senses, and is man not God centered.
Holy people, we know that false doctrines
of the devil often mix the truth with lies; therefore, the whole is a lie
although some may see some truth in it. If its not the whole truth it is none
of the truth in the sight of God, and therefore in the sight of His people.
Again, brethren, we must absolutely tell
people the truth, so that those who have been deceived can hear the truth and turn
to God and be saved. If any reject the truth they have condemned themselves. There
is a saying that one cannot poison only a part of the well, and think that any

RECOVERY
Brothers and sisters, so much destruction
is going on in the world as it always has from the very beginning, and
according to the Bible the worst is yet to come. Nevertheless, our hope and
peace rests in our great Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Praise Him for His
faithfulness, eternal love and everlasting truth. Let us thank Him, holy
people, for being the Author of our Salvation, our Peace in the times of
troubles, the Shepherd of His people, the blessed God, Possessor of heaven and
earth, and Omnipotent Potentate to whom be all might, power, honor, glory and
dominion forever. God always wins.
Saints (g40 hagios), we know many discover
themselves sitting in the ashes of their lives. Some, but not all accept that
it is their own hands that have sown to their own hurt not to theirs alone. It is
worth noting that one of the features of sowing is that sometimes the process
is so slow one can often be deceived into thinking that there will be no
results i.e. neither reward, loss nor punishment. Then one is lulled into habituation
and the false belief that one can continue to enjoy or do a thing that brings
them profit and/or pleasure without consequences; but we know better. We do well to remember, dearly beloveds, that God’s
law of sowing and reaping always works, it doesn’t matter if a person is
ignorant or indifferent to this law it always works.
We know, brethren, that there are
multitudes that pay attention to the counsel of God and are as they say forewarned
is forearmed. For such a time as this the counsel of God stands sure. In His
counsel is wisdom and life. The church cares about its children. Let us take
heed to not make our children stumble, or steer them in a harmful direction. Regardless of what it costs us, brethren, we should
do nothing that we know hurts them no matter how pleasant a thing might be to
us. Dearly beloveds, just as we would not, and do not ignore the drug and/or
alcoholic addict neither should we ignore the glutton, those smoking cigarettes,
and those doing other destructive things which are just as harmful to them and
others. Job 12:13 With
him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and
understanding.
Psa 33:11 The counsel of
the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Pro 11:14 Where
no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of

RECOVERY
Brothers and sisters, only recently is
obesity being studied for its effects on the brains structure, and impact on
behavior. As aforementioned lowered work productivity, and depression is
associated with obesity in adults. It is alarming that obesity in children
affects the child’s capacity to learn, and puts them at risk for hypertension,
high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, some cancers, breathing problems
such as asthma and sleep apnea, non- alcoholic fatty liver disease, gallstones,
heartburn, psychological problems, low self- esteem, lowered quality of life,
social problems, bullying and stigma. Obesity can raise the risk of certain
types of arthritis in both children and adults. 70-80% of overweight children
are likely to be overweight in adulthood. A recent Sermo poll found that the
majority of doctors blamed parents for obesity in children. Hormonal disorders are
a rare cause of obesity in children. According to the Military Times one third
of young adults are unfit for military service.
Currently authorities are examining
whether child obesity should be considered child abuse/neglect. Dearly beloveds,
there are instances where the courts have intervened and charged parents with
abuse and neglect of their obese children, removing some of the children from
the parental home,
Brothers and sisters, the estimated annual
health care costs of obesity related illness are $190. 2 billion dollars or nearly 21%
of annual medical spending in the United States. Childhood obesity alone is
responsible for $14 billion dollars in direct medical costs.
Dearly beloveds, there are those who want
to make it a hate crime for fat shaming. There have been those on the other
hand who think obesity should be criminalized to some extent with the penalty
being enforced weight loss. Holy people, it is doubtful that any of this will
get any traction to be put in action, because it is a problem impacting “nice”
people, who are unlikely to pose an overt danger to society.
Saints (G40 hagios) Is there a silence
among believers about the dangers of obesity? Some might be offended or see it
as an invasion of their privacy should anyone address their obesity. God is Maker/Creator
of all mankind and everything that is made. All of us are by His permission
leasees on this present earth. Praise and thanks be to God, that He is generous,
merciful, and kind. I pray, brethren, that we will always keep in mind that we
are never alone, and to never hesitate to come to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
in everything. He is wisdom, His counsel stands sure. Christ is our hope and perpetual answer.
God reminds us, brethren, that spiritual laws
hold true and effective in the natural as well as in the spiritual world: Galatians 6:7 says, “Do not be deceived: God
cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” There are natural consequences to
our actions. The world operates under the law of cause and effect. love serola

RECOVERY
Brothers and sisters, one of the medical
treatments for obesity is through various kinds of surgeries to cause the obese
to be inhibited from overeating and to only be able to eat very small portions
of food, even this does not guarantee success. The mainstay of medical treatment
is life style changes of diet and exercise, behavior therapies, and self-care
to exercise and reduce calories. However, if weight loss is not achieved and
there is a significant risk to the health of the obese, certain medications
will be prescribed to help the person lose weight.
Dearly beloveds, obesity was recognized as
a disease by the AMA in 2013, although historical records show obesity as being
thought of as a killer disease for at least a hundred years. obesity is a world-
wide pandemic not just in America.
Sadly, many of the diseases caused by
addictions are also found in the general population not due directly to addictions.
Holy people, we know that there are some who are obese that point a harsh
finger at drug/alcohol addicts not understanding how ironic that they do so
with jowls quivering, and bellies overflowing waist bands. It’s not that they
are not right or sincere, but that the addict comprehends that the finger
pointer has no answer for his or her own problems, and therefore has no real
help to offer beyond noting what the addict already knows, which is that he or
she has a problem. People want answers too not merely just someone pointing out
their problems.
Does God have the answers? Yes, indeed, brethren,
we know without a doubt that God always has the answer, but we can look at that
later on in the study. Some say the Bible is not for dealing with addictions.
We know, brethren, the Bible is exclusive, explicit, thoroughly comprehensive,
inerrant, final, finished and complete, encompassing the totality of the human
condition of the good and of the evil, and the sole standard by which all men
can truly live and be saved from and above self or die and be damned in
devotion to self.
Pro
23:21For the drunkard and
the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a
man with rags.
Dearly beloveds, we can see from God’s
word that He associates drunkenness with gluttony. The habitual excess of
intake of alcohol and or food can severely impact a person’s ability to work
appropriately and maintain a work life.
There is no need for an obese Christian to
freak out and believe their obesity is caused by the devil. NO- the Bible is
clear the world, and the devil has nothing to do a person’s failure to control
themselves in regards to their eating and failure to have foresight that there
are always unpleasant consequences as a result.
1 Cor 10: 13 13There
hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
God knows our weaknesses and is always
faithful and way ahead of us leaving His absolute effective
commands/instructions in overcoming our temptations out of love for Him.
Then too, brothers and sisters, some in
error believe God is to blame for them being tempted to habitually over eat: Jas
1: 13 13When
someone is tempted, he shouldn't say that God is tempting him. God can't be
tempted by evil, and God doesn't tempt anyone. 14Everyone
is tempted by his own desires as they lure him away and trap him.
Jas 1: 25 25However,
the person who continues to study God's perfect teachings that make people free
and who remains committed to them will be blessed. People like that don't
merely listen and forget; they actually do what God's teachings say.
