Beloveds, we must clear up the lie that when the Lord told Joshua he would have good success through obeying the Law, that this was meant for Christians today. The Lord told this to Joshua that in obeying the Old Covenant of the Law God would give him success in conquering certain lands and taking these lands for the nation of Israel: Joshua 1: 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Also in keeping the Old Covenant of the Law, (which is all they had from God), he would not face the wrath of God and die as Aaron and Moses did for their disobedience to God in not keeping the Old Covenant of the Law: Num. 27: 12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. 13 And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. 14 For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

Moses never preached that the Old Covenant of the Law would make anyone permanently righteous in the sight of God. Here is the truth, preached by our Saviour Jesus Christ: Jhn 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

Luk 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, THEN CHRIST IS DEAD IN VAIN.

See Galatians 3, which explains God’s purposes for the Law; and how Jesus Christ has delivered us from it for all time. Feel free to study on your own the numerous verses that fully declare that Jesus Christ is the eternal Saviour and final sole source of eternal salvation for all time for all who believe in Him. See John 14:6.

Anyone willfully claiming salvation based on keeping the Old Covenant of the Law and/ or combining it with the New Covenant of Jesus Christ, or anything else is not considered a Christian according to the Bible.

Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, THEN CHRIST IS DEAD IN VAIN.

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the CURSE: for it is written, CURSED is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that NO MAN is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

          1Ti. 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

1Ti 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; 11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    STUDIES IN HEBREWS

    Chapter 9 vs 19-23

Brothers and sisters, thanks, blessings, and praises to our King, Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ God the Son of God.

God Our Father, we will always be grateful to you for your glorious Son, His terrible sufferings on the cross, His nail scarred hands and feet, that hole in His side, everlasting emblems and impeccable credentials of His eternal undying love and faithfulness to save us, all who believe, His lost sheep to bring us all home to spend all eternity together with you.

Saints (G40 hagios) thanks for your patience in this study that began back in April 2022. Paul the apostle gives a very heavy dose of spiritual feedings in teaching these Hebrew believers, and us too. He does not treat them as too fragile to be retaught and receive the knowledge of the whole truth of the gospel with its absolute eternal blessings, warnings, and curses.

Indeed, we know, brethren, it is the teaching of the whole truth of the gospel in the doctrine of Christ that spiritually feeds the Christian to the full, establishes them steadfast in the word, and moves them forward to maturity, unified as one body protected from false teachers through sound teaching, believing, and living the same things of scripture correctly interpreted.

Let us say repeatedly the Bible is not a text- book, but God’s full and complete standard with instructions for all of His children on how He commands us to live, please Him and do His will not our own.

We know that we have to get the Bible off the pages and into every one our hearts and minds and spirits to grow to maturity and perform all that God commands as He intended from the beginning; we know, when we consistently do the word from the heart to please God and do His will over our own, that we have accomplished that very thing in living the word, and become rooted in maturity of the gospel, to experience in Christ eternal life abundantly now and in the world to come: Jhn 10:10.

Most certainly, dearly beloveds, it ought to pain us when we hear a very sincere brother or sister in ignorance because they  don't know any better, referring to the physical building in which the church meets, as “the sanctuary”, “the church”, “holy ground”, which is a clear indication of spiritual immaturity and ignorance of the New Covenant upon which the gospel of Lord Jesus Christ is founded and is Founder, teaching us that His people on earth are the temple in which He dwells in His omniscience, omnipresence omnipotence.

The physical building where Christians assemble or gather is just the meeting place of the church. Absolutely no where in scripture where church or churches are mentioned is it referring to physical buildings, it is always referring to the people of God. Jesus is not coming back for a building, He is coming back for His people.

Praise God for the multitudes of His people who understand and know that they can and do worship in houses, libraries, school gyms, in parks, on beaches, in their backyards, in coffee houses, purchased buildings etc.. We can't put God in a box, it's never going to happen.

Thanks be to God none of us have to stay ignorant.

Thanks be to God that there are a multitude of spiritually well- fed congregations with a plentitude of sound elders, pastors, teachers, because no one man can care for the flock of God all by himself, although there are some who in error think that they can.

Paul, for example, established, and had many helpers and co- laborers in the gospel. God who needs no one, has also given us the blessing of being co-laborers with Him in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Again, and again we see besides Paul, that all of the apostles, besides aiding believers to actively participate in various ministries, were teaching, and demanding that those taught ought to teach others, rather than remain mere students, and so must we do also.

Brothers and sisters, we have to admit that this book uses an extremely rigorous method of intense, explicit, exhaustive, exclusive repetitive teaching in contrast/comparisons of every aspect of the Law vs the New Covenant to the nth degree, God commanding, compelling us to urgently, carefully, understand and embrace comprehensively-that the New Covenant of Jesus Christ is absolutely new, and absolutely not the Old Covenant of the Law or mixed with it in any manner whatsoever-sealing the eternal truth that there is absolutely no eternal salvation or life outside of this New Covenant of Jesus Christ, through faith, through grace in His Name alone.

We know that everybody in the Old Testament was not under the Law, which came in only after Israel after the flesh was delivered from the bondage of slavery in Egypt. This is extremely important, because Abraham and His Seed Jesus Christ, received the promises of the New Covenant before he was circumcised and still a gentile, not after his circumcision, that the promises would be also to the gentiles, not the Jews only: Gal 3:6-14.

We find God our Father, Jesus Christ God the Son of God our Saviour, God our Holy Spirit, Paul the Apostle and our brother all in unison confirming in fiery testimony- example after example pointing all believers to the Christ’s entirely New Covenant. Of course, the whole of scripture is for our learning, but it is completely finished in the New Covenant of Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, No Christian can ever justify looking to the Mosaic Law for righteousness or forgiveness of sins, after knowing this eternal truth.

Therefore, all the works of Christ alone, totally separated and no part of the Mosaic Law, has eternally accomplished the atonement ratified fully in Christ’s sinless life, preaching the gospel, shedding His blood, death on the cross, burial, and resurrection, which has absolutely pleased God, satisfied His commands for eternal righteousness, and granted eternal, permanent forgiveness to whomsoever will believe in Him.

We know, holy people, again, and again, God absolutely teaches us right here in the book of Hebrews and throughout scripture that there is no need to ever look outside of Christ for salvation, not to any other person(s); or through membership in/or/belief in any denominations; organizations; institutions; alternate ideologies, doctrines of revivalisms; great awakenings; latter rains.

Neither is there salvation in water baptismal salvation; saying a prayer, making a bargain to believe in God if  He would save a loved one or if God would show Himself to be real. No one is saved by being given a sign, Saved because they escaped hell and then believed, or went to heaven and then believed, asked God into their heart, asked God to take their life, saved because they had a praying grandma, saved because they spoke in tongues, saved because they attended Bible school and had great grades, saved because they were ordained in Bible school after having paid all fees and completed all courses or received a scholarship, saved by an angel, saved by descent from a long line of pastors etc, saved by election whether they believe or not, saved because they did a lot of good works and helped a lot of people, saved because they attend church regularly, saved because they were never a really bad sinner. This list citing people’s humanistic reasonings for seeing themselves as saved far exceeds what I can put down here.

The Bible in teaching rigorously, relentlessly by comparing/contrasting the old with the new; the temporal carnal imitation or copy of the earthly tabernacle with the eternal true spiritual original tabernacle in heaven causes us to grasp comprehensively that an imperfect copy of the carnal earthly tabernacle cannot ever compare to the greatest value of the eternal true original perfect tabernacle in heaven in the sight of God.

Again, say it with me, holy brethren, we know that the New Covenant is entirely New, it contains the sole standard in Christ for eternal forgiveness of sins, along with how the Christian is to live as those owned and, purchased by Christ, who paid in full for our sins-that is what is explicitly taught in scriptures and is absolute final, finished and complete, God forbidding anyone either to add or take away from it on pain of eternal curse and damnation: Act 20:28; 1Co 6:20; 1Co 7:23.

Therefore, we know absolutely, holy people, that Christ didn’t make a down payment for all our sins, He paid the price to God in full to obtain eternal forgiveness for whomsoever will believe in Him.

Heb 9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

We see both the Law and grace as not having conditions for righteousness, membership, service, or way of life, because conditions can change for a variety of reasons.

Instead, God commands that we see both of the Covenants as having fixed unchanging standards whereby the people were taught how to live and do God’s will rather than their own.

Therefore, the standard or pattern established by God in the true tabernacle in heaven had to absolutely be followed in the copy of the earthly tabernacle, which He also commanded to be dedicated by the blood of a perfect sacrifice.

Heb 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

Heb 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

Heb 9:21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Ex 21:  7And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient8And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.

Blood here in these passages absolutely means literal blood, and never mentioned as a figure of speech. Now, brothers and sisters, we note that after Moses sprinkled the people with blood,  the Levites were separated from among the people, washed  with water, had an atonement made for them, after which God took the Levites for Himself and gave them as a gift to Aaron:  Num 8:19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

The Levites served from 25 upward to 50 years of age, after which they retired from service: Num 8:24-25.

In the above verses, we can certainly grasp a foreshadowing of the permanent spiritual eternal New Covenant High Priest to come in Jesus Christ, and the consecration of His priesthood in His sinless blood, making them spiritually alive,  anointing them with the Holy Ghost, and washing them with the water of the everlasting Word of God that they would be separated from the world and given by God the Father to Jesus Christ the eternal High Priest to do service unto Him on earth: Heb 2:13

Heb 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Purified: to consecrate, dedicate; to consecrate by cleansing or purifying, purge, purify: cleansemake cleanbe clean, purgepurifyAct 15:9; Tit 2:14; Eph 5:26.

We end this chapter noting the same intense, relentless, focusing on comparing and contrasting the Covenants always finding without exception in the contrasting that the New Covenant in the actual, literal incorruptible sinless blood of Jesus Christ is necessary, is far and above superior to all the carnal sacrifices of the temporal carnal earthly tabernacle under the Mosaic Law. The blood of Christ has taken away the curse, death and punishment of the Law in the love, mercy, grace and faithfulness of the Son making it a covenant so much better than the Law of Moses.

    STUDIES IN HEBREWS

    CHAPTER 9: VS 15-18

Luk 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

Luk 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Brothers and sisters, what a beautiful, comforting, heart- warming and intimate way that Jesus taught His disciples to approach our Father in prayer. He assures His disciples that His Father is their Father and our Father too- that we who believe have the God-given- right, privilege, honor, delight, and command to call Him our Father.

Jesus reveals His love and veneration for our Father, in His prayers. In everything Jesus was about putting His Father's kingdom and will first. We are our Father’s eternal family, and likewise should gladly and freely come to Him as His children calling on our Father, putting His will and His kingdom first.

Our Father, we love you, thanks, praise, worship and blessings to you. Your glorious name is forever sacred, Holy, precious and utterly worthy of our deepest devotion.  We know, holy brethren, that our Father is worthy of every accolade that can be given, but raise your hand brethren, if you find it greatly assuring that Almighty God is very pleased for His children to also address Him as Our Father. (I raised both of my hands in gratitude and thankfulness to Him).

Say it with me, brothers and sisters, our Father, thy will be done on earth even as it is in heaven, for thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory forever, and ever. Amen

Our Father sent down manna- bread from heaven to feed Israel, after having delivered them by His mighty hand out of bondage from Egypt wherein they had been slaves. Although Israel had the records, the fathers, the promises, the prophets, the oracles of God, were eye- witnesses of His mega power unleashed against their enemies in battle, and heard His voice speak on the mount that made them quake with fear, still the nation as a whole didn’t believe although there were some faithful among them.

It is true that only certain people had the Holy Spirit back then, not the whole nation, which were just natural men still with a sin nature; but God still taught them right from wrong through the Law. However, despite knowing right from wrong the people still sinned against God, none of them ever kept the Law, as God knew no mere man could ever keep it.

God tested, tried and proved in them that man out of his old fallen sinful Adamic nature cannot be good, cannot save himself, not even from himself, nor please God. Therefore, God gave them the Law to teach them that they were sinners, removing their ignorance of it, while afflicting their consciences with the verdict of guilt, which none of the sacrifices of the Law could remove.

Nevertheless, dearly beloveds, God left them great hope in the Abrahamic Messianic promises of the Deliverer to come who would restore all things and save the people from their sins permanently, which the Law could never do.

Thanks be to God, holy brethren, that God sent down from heaven the True Bread, His faithful, incorruptible only biological Son Lord Jesus Christ God of power, coequal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, who though His atoning work in His sinless life, ministry, shedding of His sinless incorruptible blood, death, burial, and resurrection, has thoroughly washed all who believe in Him from all their sins, baptized them into His death, and raised them to eternal life anew as entirely new creations in Him, with new natures, new minds, hearts, filled with the Holy Spirit so that both Jew and gentile are made one and can serve Him out of New natures, never the old adamic sin nature:

Rom 9:8; Jhn 6:51; Jhn 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

God left clear instructions throughout His word as to how every believer is to trust in Him and obey Him out of love. He empowered the whole church to admonish and aid one another in love and to grow and be strengthened in grace.

Praise God that through Jesus Christ all believers both Jew and gentile have God’s own spiritual DNA to life everlasting.

We know, holy brethren, that God gave the Bible to feed His spiritual food to His people on earth, who are all spiritual beings although still existing in human physical bodies - to be put off at death when the believer enters the presence of God in heaven.

We know that people require good quality physical food on a regular basis to maintain good quality physical health and life. So also the spiritual people of God need to have regular good quality spiritual food from the word of God to maintain good spiritual health.

Therefore, the whole church is to understand the vital need to continually feed on the scriptures for comfort, encouragement, to know how to live holy lives, maintain and share the good news and gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: Jas 1:22-25: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves…

Obviously, we cannot do the word if we do not study and keep it in remembrance.

Its good to say repeatedly that Paul corrects/warns, but never condemns these Hebrew Christians. Instead he graciously went on to reteach them the doctrine of Christ with the understanding that they were to continually keep it in remembrance so they could understand and fully know how to live according to God’s standard in Christ as God commands all believers.

Back then and also at this present time we will find some amongst us who are similar to these Hebrew Christians, as well as some who have misinterpreted scripture, have an incomplete knowledge of salvation, or who have not gone beyond just knowing they are saved. Sheep have to be fed, cared for, and watched over, which is why God gifted the church with pastors, teachers, elders, and the church members as a whole.

There can be no doubt that God is speaking in absolutes about His Son Jesus Christ and His atoning work of eternal salvation, granting the free gift of forgiveness of all sins and eternal life.

Yet, we still have some who in ignorance believe that a Christian can lose eternal life. God gives believers eternal life because He is eternal and that is the only kind of life that He can give to believers. If one does not believe this life is eternal, what are they saying about God, because He is eternal.

The Bible teaches clearly, absolutely, exclusively, exhaustively, explicitly, that the God Head is eternal and so is the life He gives to those who come to faith in Jesus Christ. That is what God is teaching here in Hebrews and throughout scripture.

We rejoin the study, brothers and sisters, to find that God has chosen His Son Jesus Christ as the only one absolutely proven by Him to be fit to be the sole eternal Mediator between man and God: Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

     1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Heb 8:6But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

No Christian need fear the loss of their inheritance, they did not work for it, its in the will and is eternal too.

God accepted the voluntary perfect sinless sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ as payment for all the sins of the repentant, even those sins done in violation of the Law.

Mediator: one who intervenes between two, either in order to make or restore peace and friendship, or form a compact, or for ratifying a covenant.

    I.a medium of communication, arbitrator.

    a go-between, a reconciler (intercessor):—mediator.

    I. Redemption: a releasing effected by payment of ransom.

    A. liberation procured by the payment of a ransom.

Let us recall back in verse 12 that Christ's redemption is absolutely eternal.

Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Force: —firm, of force, stedfast, sure.

The death of Christ confirmed, and established His Testament or will. His death makes it impossible for His will to be changed.

The last step was the dedication of the will, which had to be done by a living executor which is the risen Saviour and High Priest Lord Jesus Christ.

Dedicated: to initiate, consecrate, dedication, inaugurate.

Dearly beloveds for those who have misinterpreted 1 John 1: 9 to mean in error that Christians after being saved must endlessly confess each sin to God piecemeal to be forgiven per each sin, and restore fellowship with God, this whole book of Hebrews as well as all of scripture makes it impossible for that doctrine to hold any validity.

John Himself refutes this error in declaring the truth: 1Jo 3:6

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1Jo 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God

keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

     STUDIES IN HEBREWS

    CHAPTER 9 VS 13-14

Brothers and sisters, let us as the family of God and priests of the royal priesthood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ humbly pour out to Him abundant offerings of love, praises, thanks, blessings, and worship to our Great Shepherd of the flock, the First Begotten from the dead, our Resurrection and Eternal life, for His love, faithfulness and mercy, for while we were yet His enemies, and dead in our sins, He still offered Himself for our sins, and rose to live again forever that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Thanks, glory, power, dominion, supremacy, and honor to you, Lord Jesus, Lamb of God the Father, for being our Ever- Present Peace and Help in times of trouble, our Advocate/ Lawyer in the throne room, our Doctor in the sick room, our Friend in need, closer than a brother, more patient than a mother. Lord Jesus you are the Lion of Judah who never turns not back for any, the Eagle under whose pinion feathers are your people kept eternally safe. Amen.

I love you brothers and sisters, thank you for your patience in this study. We know that God’s Word is powerful, we can trust Him to strengthen, protect, guide, guard, comfort, discipline and keep us on the path of righteousness as we steadfastly believe, study and live the Word, with the evidence of obedience shown in our character, conduct and conversation both publicly and privately.

Some might ponder how could Paul prior to becoming a believer do all those harmful things to followers of Christ, even persecuting the women too. Paul doesn’t blame his teacher in this for he lauds his teacher Gamaliel as amongst the finest of teachers. Paul was a Pharisee the son of a Pharisee. We know they taught the law, prophets, and resurrection indicating they also had knowledge of the Messianic promises as well.

We find the answer in Paul’s own testimony:  1Ti 1:13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

I.IGNORANTLY: to be ignorant, not to know.

    II. not to understand, unknown.

III.to err or sin through mistake, to be wrong.

Paul had been taught from a very early age by his teacher Gamaliel all the things necessary for him to know intellectually to be accepted into the Pharisee sect, but he in ignorance misinterpreted it to believe and see the followers of Jesus as a threat to his sect and fully intended to destroy it with the blessings of the Aaronic high priest, amongst others.

Gamaliel himself advised certain opposing Jews not to try and stop certain apostles from preaching the gospel, but to leave them alone: Act 5:39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Later, the converted Paul frankly renounced his sect out of faith in Christ: Phl 3:8.

The apostles who were with Lord Jesus and under His teachings did not believe in the resurrection, although later they would:  Mark 16:14. We know that when they believed all the apostles had the scriptures opened to them directly through the divine revelations of Lord Jesus Christ, Himself:  Luk 24:45.

Through the Holy Spirit at Pentecost they would receive the necessary power to live and carry out the gospel message. All the apostles preached the exact same gospel in unity to both Jews and gentiles, who are all made one in Christ.

Lord Jesus commands that His sheep should be fed. Therefore, He established gifts to the church to make it possible through pastors, elders, teachers, and the general body as well in an active, not passive sense. All of this work together to mature the whole church to be protected, guarded, and guided as a whole, All speaking the same thing edifying and building up the church in eternal absolute love and truth:  Eph 4:16.

Until Lord Jesus returns, holy people, there will be the ongoing necessity to teach the scriptures to establish believers in the faith and to correct any ignorance and/or misinterpretation of it to bring unity to the body as a whole. Correction is never condemnation.

A sister was always praying for the “anointing”. She thought that there were four persons of the Godhead, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and the Anointing. She believed this anointing came and went but would come in answer to prayer. She also believed in the anointing oil which could be placed on objects to ward off evil spirits. She “plead the blood of Jesus’ to protect her from the devil. Some favorite songs of the church she attended was “On the way to heaven someone slipped and fell”, “Saviour do not pass me by”, and "Almost saved".

She had heard the gospel, understood and believed that Jesus died and rose again to pay for and forgive all the sins of those who believe in Him. However, she didn’t know what the New Covenant was, and had never read the Bible for herself, she did not even know that she and all believers should read the Bible for themselves. I know this sounds bad, but among the many Bible- based churches you can also find some whole congregations and/or individuals that although they are saved are not grounded in the doctrine of Christ, and have a mix of unbiblical doctrines in ignorance.

We know that Paul didn’t wait for the sheep to show up and be fed, none of the apostles did, they made every effort directly and through their disciples to keep in touch and oversee the health and care of the church. Both Jew and gentile, again, are one in Christ not half siblings or step- children. We know Christ is not divided. We know the whole of scripture is for both Jew and gentile for our learning- not just certain parts or bits and pieces only:  Rom 15:4.

I have to say it again, and again, holy people, God doesn’t have any extrabiblical requirements for any believer to learn the scriptures. God set the Standard that through teachings of elders, pastors, teachers, the body general along with personal study and obedience, the Holy Spirit by faith in Jesus Christ opens up the scriptures to every believer for free. Whatever we learn in scriptures, I will say repeatedly, let's share the gospel as it was shared with us. God wants us to share His gospel and is pleased to give all who do so a reward. Let us not lose our reward by failing to share the gospel as God commands.

Everyone and every teacher, it must be said without ceasing that God commands that we check them out to see whether their teachings align with the absolute truth of scripture or not. It goes without saying that God commands every believer to check themselves out too to see if they are correctly aligned with the Word of God.

There was a man who spent millions of dollars to build a super- sized building he called the church to glorify God. He preached how this idol church would last forever, and even gave members a stone to write their names or that of loved ones on as an “eternal” remembrance.

However, the congregation over time became unable to pay the massive costs for its upkeep and little by little left the church, although the pastor reaped millions of dollars for himself and family. Bankruptcy was declared and, the building was sold- not without a lot of contentious lawsuits as to who would benefit from the proceeds. The buyer told the members to come get their memorial stones as the place where they were placed was to be used for another purpose. The buyers were not Christians.

Corrupt/false shepherds deliberately take advantage of the biblically ignorant. Biblical ignorance has dangerous consequences to believers. Thank God, dearly beloveds, for the multitude of faithful overseers that feed the sheep and do not fleece the sheep, but teach them the truth that they, not a physical building is the true body of Christ in whom He dwells eternally with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.

Brothers and sisters, let us retain the previous teachings as we continue to move forward in the study, for therein shall comprehension of the whole be well established and made steadfast by the Holy Spirit in us that believe.

Again and again, line upon line, precept upon precept, we cannot fail to note how absolutely/explicitly the Triune God through/with the apostle Paul is jack- hammering, incessantly, relentlessly pounding the absolute truth of eternal salvation through God the Son of God Jesus Christ into the spirits, hearts, and minds of these Hebrew believers, and ours also, for the message is timeless, eternal, and for our learning to obedience out of love for all that has been done for everyone who believes in Him.

We know, dearly beloveds, that the Bible teaches us here and throughout scripture to the nth degree that God absolutely forbids the comingling of the gospel with any and all alternative doctrines, revivalisms, plan b’s, denominations, organizations, institutions, methodologies, replacement theologies, or anything contrary to the doctrine of Christ.

Heb 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

The sacrificed blood of bulls and goats and ashes of a heifer although effective, gave only a temporary external cleansing to the people, which is all it could do, because it rotted away after being shed, losing the efficacy of the atonement that had been made from it. God accepted the death of the animals to pay for the sins of the people so that the people would not have to die for their own sins.

The sacrifices under the Law could never erase the guilty conscience of the people it only reminded them that they were sinners who could never please God and left them in real fear that God might destroy the nation as there was no guarantee God would automatically accept the yearly sacrifice.

14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Purge: A. to free from defilement of sin and from faults

    i.to purify from wickedness.

ii.to free from guilt of sin, to purify.

iii.to consecrate by cleansing or purifying.

    iv.to consecrate, dedicate.

    I.to pronounce clean.

    (make) clean(-se), purge, purify.

The blood of Lord Jesus Christ is absolutely superior to the blood of the animals sacrificed under the Law.

The blood of Lord Jesus Christ is forever completely sinless. It is impossible for His sinless blood to decay or rot away, as the blood of sacrificed animals did under the Law. Therefore, the atonement made through the sinless blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse the sins of the repentant forever retains the efficiency and efficacy of its cleansing atonement power forever.

For this reason, every believer’s conscience is purged from fear of being unacceptable to God for the blood of Jesus has made them forever forgiven, acceptable to God and enabled to do works pleasing in His sight through the PERMANENT ETERNAL ATONEMENT made by the sinless blood of Jesus Christ guarantying PERMANENT ETERNAL SALVATION to all who believe in Him.

The Holy Spirit comes right back to blast out to us yet again through our brother Paul to look eternally to Christ. Christ is the only One we can look to for PERMANENT ETERNAL SALVATION through His sinless blood.

There is no way anyone can not conclude that salvation is made permanent through Christ, except he be reprobate. God is never angry at the ignorant, or those who mistakenly misinterpret scripture. We know the ignorant will believe when taught the truth and those in error not understanding will repent when they hear the truth, but the wicked never will.

God gives no one the right to deliberately/unrepentantly cherry pick, add to or subtract from the gospel of Jesus Christ:  Gal 1:8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

    Love and truth, serola

    STUDIES IN HEBREWS

    CHAPTER 9 VS 11-12

Brothers and sisters, let us humbly love, trust, worship, thank and bless, praise our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God the Son of God, our First Love, Saviour, Mediator, High Priest, King of kings, Lord of lords, the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, Prince of Peace, Redeemer, Deliverer, for His love, truth, mercy, and through whom we have received eternal redemption, freely pardoned of all sins forever, and made new creations in Him, by the will of God the Father, and witnessed by the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live holy lives.

We who believe have been freed from sin not freedom to sin.

Our Father God Almighty, Sovereign Ruler, Omnipotent Potentate, Maker of all flesh, Possessor of heaven and earth, we love, trust, worship, thank, bless, and praise you for giving us your Only Son Lord Jesus Christ, that we would through Him receive eternal life, eternal forgiveness, and an eternal home together with you in your eternal kingdom:  Dan 4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Our Holy Spirit We love, trust, Worship, thank, praise, and bless you our indwelling teacher, Comforter, and Spirit of truth, who empowers us for service to God, whom we have received by the free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ God, the Son of God and everlasting Saviour.

Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

I.Free,  Gift means: a favour with which one receives without any personal works, merit or payment of his own.

    II.the gift of divine grace

III.the economy of divine grace, by which the pardon of sin and eternal salvation is appointed to sinners in consideration of the merits of Christ laid hold of by faith

Dearly beloveds, if anyone claims to be a great teacher and falsely impenitently teaches that they gave something to obtain their salvation, they are still dead, because the Bible absolutely declares salvation is THE FREE GIFT OF GOD, through faith in His Son Jesus Christ whom He has appointed as our only Saviour. Anyone unrepentantly teaching that you have to give something to get a free gift has perverted the scriptures, and should repent before it is too late, because God will never compromise His word with anyone.

This is why we must absolutely entrust ourselves to follow the Bible and test everything against scripture to prove whether it is from God or not. We know that any one willfully teaching you have to give something to get the free gift of salvation to be saved is a false teacher and never to be trusted.

The Mosaic priests worked in the physical, man-made visible earthly temple in service to God, in the New Covenant God lives/works in the inward invisible temple of the spirits of His people, making us all priests fit for the ministry, circumcising our hearts, filling them with the Holy Spirit enabling us to carry out his will that we should bear the very image of His Son our saviour Jesus Christ in whom we  believe by faith in Him before the world and one another, with the evidence of our salvation shown in consistent obedience to Him out of love and trust in Him.

Lord Jesus, I pray that we will receive of your abundant spiritual wisdom, understanding and comfort in this study and that each of us will be strengthened to grasp the fullness of your great love and truth with a spirit of gratitude and thankfulness for the very great eternal blessings that you have bestowed upon us.

In this fiery highly charged, intense, repetitious and meticulously laid out book of Hebrews, dearly beloveds, we grasp God’s desire that we should be steadfastly rooted in and gain a comprehensive spiritual understanding and depth of insight into God’s will and work through Jesus Christ His Son. Certainly, the Holy Spirit provides us with such thoroughness of who Jesus is to the nth degree; that no authentic Christian can ever justify knowingly turning away from eternal grace back to the temporal Mosaic Law to be made righteous or be forgiven of sins in any way or manner in the sight of Almighty God.

The knowledge of the eternal truth of scripture, brothers and sisters, should cause us to turn away from those who seek to place us in bondage to the Law whether they do it in ignorance or not. However, we should not be surprised or angry that a Christian, some even in the pulpit can ignorantly or due to being untaught see the Law as a way to be made righteous, forgiven or receive salvation. Among the multitude of elders that teach the true gospel, are those who plainly do not know the New Covenant causing many to stumble as the blind are leading the blind.

Those of us who have received and been rooted in the freedom of the comprehensive knowledge of salvation are commanded by God to share it with those who do not know it and to confirm it with those who do know it.

As the gospel has been shared with us, let us also be diligent to share it with others too. I have spent times witnessing publicly, as many others have done, because everybody is not going to show up in a church to be saved. I never found anyone including those who claimed to be Christians knowing anything about the New Covenant or that only faith in Jesus Christ saves. Sharing in the church I found some also who were ignorant of salvation. One dear lady said the Bible does not teach that Christians had to share the gospel at all! An elder hearing this exchange corrected her.

The Bible is clear- the righteous will learn and believe. The righteous will receive correction and turn from error, however the wicked will never turn from error nor repent even if they know the truth. The Bible makes it clear that salvation is not a debate, but an eternal declaration of everlasting inerrant, and unchanging truth. Salvation is not an invitation or polite request that one has the option to impenitently reject because it has irreversible consequences forever and hell is real:  Act 17:30 “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart

Brothers and sisters, let us live the knowledge and understanding granted to us by God as we are taught it, study it on our own, share it with others and live it out of love and trust in God which is TRUE WORSHIP. Praise God that through Jesus Christ we have a God who is not far off, for He is more than near us, but dwelling in our spirits and we in God together with the Holy Spirit.

Praise God who has written himself in the hearts, minds, consciences, and spirits of His people, through faith in God the Son of God Jesus Christ.

God paints a full and frank portrait of the earthly tabernacle, reflects on the glory of it with its priesthood, yet hides none of the sordidness that the Aaronic priesthood degenerated to, even defiling the earthly tabernacle and broken their covenant of the Law, clearly showing us that we should not entrust our spiritual well- being to such whose ministry God has forever rejected.

We must keep in remembrance how terrible was the glorious Law of death, curse, and punishment. It was an immediate death sentence for the priests serving under the high priest, and the people should they ever set foot into the holiest of all. Even the high priest was warned by God not to come too often into the holiest of all to avoid being killed by God. Even on the day of the yearly atonement there was no guarantee that the sacrifice of the high priest would be accepted by God. For this reason, the day of atonement was a day where Israel afflicted and humbled their souls before God.

Personally, I believe God always. He is done with the Mosaic Law. Therefore, I too am commanded to be done with the Law. I am fully convicted, convinced and fully persuaded by the truth of the Bible so that there is nothing in or of the Mosaic Law that entices, tempts, or attracts me to its ministry of glorious death, curse, and punishment, in any way for ever.

Now for those amongst us still looking in scripture to see if there is a loop hole wherein God accepts the Law of Moses to be made righteous, or that one can cherry pick the Law for commands that they like, the Bible states absolutely: 1Ti 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,Unchecked Copy Box 10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;  11According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

God forbids cherry picking the Law the whole thing has to be obeyed: Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Jas 2:10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Feel free to read more on your own regarding the purpose of the law in Galatians 3 where Paul teaches the same thing to the gentiles.

There is a dear lady who had attempted suicide a number of times after she became a Christian, she loved and believed in the Lord, but because she had committed a crime many years before did not think she was worthy of forgiveness. The lady had lived a law- abiding life for many years after her offense, and made restitution to her victim, who had forgiven her.

After listening, and offering comfort, it came as no surprise that although she attended church regularly, she had never opened the Bible to read it for herself and had no knowledge of the New Covenant. She had brought the matter to her church, who told her she was forgiven by God. When she asked how was it possible, they became short with her and refused to discuss the matter further, leaving her feeling the same.

We sat together and went through the scriptures to assure her that we all have sinned, and no one is worthy on their own works or merit to receive salvation. After learning about the eternal forgiveness of the free gift of salvation through faith in the Saviour Jesus Christ who never lies or deceives, but is of absolutely truth, she understood and received the free grace of Jesus Christ. She said had we not met, she had planned to end her life again. I am sorry to say she is not the first suicidal Christian I have met feeling similarly, not understanding what forgiveness is, but fortunately believed when they saw the truth revealed in scripture. We must share the gospel message, holy brethren, in some cases it can be a matter of life or death.

A sister told me that she had proved her faith like she had seen in a block buster action movie where the movie character “stepped out on faith”. How she proved her faith was running out against the light in heavy traffic and making it safely to the other side! Nope, she did not know what the New Covenant was or how the Bible teaches how faith is proven. The world is preaching its secular gospel in the media, movies etc. and apparently this Christian didn’t know any better.

I did not call her an idiot or berate her in any manner. She was so proud of herself and sincere, although sincerely wrong. I took time with her to open the Bible up about tempting God, and how it teaches that faith is proven. She received the good news gladly and assured me she would not be running out in traffic or put herself at risk like that ever again.

Dearly beloveds, let us enter the study with hearts set steadfast on grace without wavering looking to our great Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

    Heb 9: 11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

Here again is the nth comparison/contrast showing the greater and only acceptable eternal tabernacle in heaven is where our Eternal High Priest dwells bodily never the temporal man-made earthly tabernacle, including man- made physical buildings on earth where Christians gather to worship. However, Lord Jesus is omniscient! Omnipotent, and Omnipresent, indwelling all believers with God the Father, and the Holy Spirit forever. The Trinity is not renting space in the spirits of His people but has permanent eternal residency in them.

Here He is at last, the Christ, Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, bringing in good things- permanent eternal blessings, forever abolishing the curses under the Law, the eternal free gift of salvation, eternal life, eternal forgiveness through faith in His Name, gifts to the church, reconciliation and peace with God forever.

Here, holy brethren, Paul gives us a much -needed break from the crushing bleak terror and dire promises of the Law of punishment, death, and curse ministered by sinful mere men who abandoned the people in the course of time and were just as sinful as the people. Let's be careful here to keep in mind that God has not cast off His people. The apostles were Jews, and there are many Jewish believers today and God’s plan is to save both Jew and gentile by faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God.

Now Paul again is painstakingly clear here. He has identified the New Eternal High Priest and nope you will never find Him in that earthly man-made tabernacle under the Law ever. With a sigh of relief, we are glad to know the abundant good things Lord Jesus brings in an eternal tabernacle made by God, not made by the hands of sinful men.

12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

…By His own blood God is never using a figure of speech or a metaphor. It means Jesus’ own sinless blood voluntarily sacrificed to pay for all the sins of whomsoever will believe in Him forever, permanently.

    There it is ETERNAL REDEMPTION.

I.ETERNAL: without ending, that which always has been and always will be

II. without end, never to cease, everlasting.

    I. REDEMPTION: a ransoming, redemption

II. deliverance, esp. from the penalty of sin.

Phl 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

EQUAL: everywhere in the Bible equal is mentioned it ALWAYS means equal, in quantity or quality.

No where in the Bible or even in the world does equal mean less than.

It is the highest form of blasphemy for anyone to brazenly suppress the inerrant truth of God’s word to unrepentantly pervert the truth and slander the Saviour Jesus Christ as a lesser God-less than God. A less than God is not God at all. Therefore, those who slander Jesus as not equal with God is calling the Holy Spirit and Witness of the inerrant eternal truthfulness of scripture a liar.

To lie and claim Jesus is not equal with God is direct slander against the Holy Spirit of truth: Mat 12:32 Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.

Jhn 14:26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1Jo 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

Eph 4:30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Some in error interpret the above verse to mean that a Christian can willfully choose to grieve the Holy Spirit and live any way they want. However, this false interpretation is taken out of context of the whole chapter of Ephesians, which teaches that the Christian is forbidden to live contrary to scriptures and forbidden to grieve the Holy Spirit who teaches how Christians are to live in this chapter and many other places in scriptures.

God owns his people:  1Co 6:19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1Co 6:20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

The bible does not skimp in many teachings on how God's people are to live to please God. God's commands are not requests that one can feel free to reject or substitute alternatives to. God disciplines His children to correct them. God's correction is never condemnation, but to turn us unto and keep us upon the paths of righteousness.

God plainly declares if anyone claiming to be a Christian unrepentantly rejects His discipline or correction, they are bastards not His children: Heb 12:8.

God, for whom it is impossible to lie, presents God His Son Jesus Christ as His equal and I believe Him over the lies of mere men, women or the devil.

Dear saints, (G40 hagios), BEHOLD THE GOD/MAN JESUS CHRIST, let us without doubt or hesitation run quickly to embrace Him in the eternal truth as the only Anointed High Priest and Saviour, eternally faithful and true. Let us put our trust completely in Him for He has guaranteed all believers: Heb 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

    See Heb 13:5.
