IF YOU ARE NOT WITH ME YOU ARE AGAINST ME
Mat 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Luk11:23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. SPIRITUAL WARFARE THE HIGH
PRIEST WITHIN THE VEIL
The high
priest enters the veil, also having the blood of the bullock with him. He puts
the incense upon the fire before the Lord and now a cloud of incense covers the
mercy seat above the ark of the testimony and he manages to evade death yet
again.
Lev 16:13 And
he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the
incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:
The high priest
takes the blood of the bullock, dips his finger into it and sprinkles it upon
the mercy seat eastward; and then seven times before the mercy seat.
The high
priest goes out of the veil and kills the goat of the sin offering for the
people. He returns within the veil and does with the goat’s blood as he did
with the blood of the bullock. THUSLY HE MAKES AN ATONEMENT FOR THE ENTIRE HOLY PEOPLE OF ISRAEL!!!
With the blood of the bullock and the goat he
puts it upon the horns of the altar round about then with his finger he
sprinkles the blood seven times, thusly cleansing the holy place and the
tabernacle and the altar from the defilement of being in the midst of a sinning
nation. Some mistakenly think that killing the sacrificed animals for sin was
the end of making the atonement for the Levitical priesthood and the people of Israel, but the truth is that IT WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING!! The high priest has more work to come.

IF YOU ARE NOT WITH ME YOU ARE AGAINST ME
SPIRITUAL WARFARE Children of
light, we can praise our God that He has given us a ring side seat as it were
through His records, to closely, fully, and intimately see the high priest
making the yearly atonement for the people, including himself. Did the high
priest think that a strong drink would come in handy to steady himself at this
time? Nothing so foolish would come into his mind for surely he would not fail
to remember God’s command: Lev 10:9 Do
not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into
the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever
throughout your generations: Earlier we
noted that the high priest was forbidden to rest whenever he went into the holy
place under pain of death. The bells around the hem of his garment had to sound
coming in or out of his work there. Wow!! he had to keep those bells going to
evade death and prove that he was not violating God’s command that he must
never rest in the holy place. Did the high
priest sweat? Certainly the
high priest moved with fear, deliberate speed and great care, but it is highly
unlikely that the holy garments were ever stained with the high priest’s sweat. Eze 44:18 They
shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon
their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat. This is God’s
house. This is God’s show. This is God’s power. This is God’s will. The high
priest is but God’s creation. It is God’s gauntlet the high priest must
run perfectly or die. The high
priest kills the bullock that is to be offered for himself and makes an
ATONEMENT FOR ALL THE SINS OF THE ENTIRE HOLY LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD!!! Next the high priest takes a censer full of burning coals from off the
altar before the Lord, and his hands full of finely ground sweet incense. Next time,
saints (G40 hagios), we go with the high priest within the veil. love serola

IF YOU ARE NOT WITH ME YOU ARE AGAINST ME
Mat 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Luk11:23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. SPIRITUAL WARFARE It would be a
mistake to call the things the high priest had to do within the yearly
atonement his to do list. Most accurately it MUST BE CALLED HIS DO OR DIE LIST.
Lev 16:17 And there shall be no man in
the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the
holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for
his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
If anything
went wrong with the yearly atonement, the high priest had no one to blame but
himself.
God makes it
clear, again and again, confession alone is NOTHING without the sacrifice for
sin: Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it
to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood
that maketh an atonement for the soul.
ENTER THE HIGH
PRIEST
God has left
us His record to allow us, holy brothers
and sisters, to look back in time to see the high priest in the yearly
atonement.
The high
priest enters the holy place taking with him one young bullock for a sin
offering and one ram for a burnt offering these are for himself and his
house-all the Levitical priests and their families.
He also takes
with him from amongst the people two kids (goats) for a sin offering and one
ram for a burnt offering for the sins of the people. He casts lots to see
which of the goats will be a sin offering to be killed and which will be the
scapegoat that is kept alive. Every single animal must be perfect and without any blemish whatsoever. The holy garments are there also: the linen mitre
with its gold crown, linen coat, linen robe, linen breeches, the ephod with the
curious girdle, the breastplate of judgement covered with precious stones and with the urim and thummim in it. Every piece of the holy garments had significances, not
one article of it could be left out: His instructions
from God were not optional at all regarding the holy garments: Exo 28:43 And
they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the
tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to
minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a
statute for ever unto him and his seed after him. The high
priest washes himself to evade death before putting on the holy garments: Exo 30:20 When they go into the tabernacle of
the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they
come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the
LORD:
Whew! Every step the high priest takes is fraught
with danger as well as hope. Is that wailing we hear in the background as the
people afflict their souls? love serola

IF YOU ARE NOT WITH ME YOU ARE AGAINST ME
SPIRITUAL WARFARE Mat 12:30 He that is not
with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Luk11:23 He that is not
with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. That poor old Levitical
priesthood. I wonder how many times their sleep was disturbed in the night as
they were awakened by desperate penitents needing to confess sins and bringing their sacrifices to get the
priests to offer it to be forgiven. Doubtless the Levitical priesthood were
often disturbed in their tasks, and family time and given little rest due to
penitents streaming in around the clock. Surely they would look forward to the
yearly atonement which would serve as but a brief respite, BECAUSE IT LASTED FOR ONLY A DAY!! The yearly
atonement, beloveds, had to be done within the specific timeframe of the month and day set
by the command of God. God would permit
no do-overs; no excuses to put it off for another month and day. The work of
the yearly atonement was specific in minute detail. The work had to be executed
perfectly, because God allowed NO omissions or mistakes. Any such things could
result in the death of the high priest. The Watchers (the eyes of God) never
left watching over the atonement nor any portion of the Law.
Surely the heart of the high priest beat with
the certain awful knowledge that he absolutely had to get it right the first
time or die! Did the yearly atonement last a year. NO, BROTHERS AND SISTERS. ALTHOUGH THE ATONEMENT WAS COMMANDED BY GOD TO BE DONE YEARLY, IT LASTED FOR ONLY ONE DAY, ONE DAY ONLY!! No doubt many will come to understand what the covenant of the Law is. Sadly there will be some others failing in this and attempting to make an amalgam of the Law with the new covenant of Grace, which God absolutely forbids. Neither understanding or knowing what they teach, they become vain babblers, offering futile hope, and works of the flesh that cannot save. love serola

IF YOU ARE NOT WITH ME YOU ARE AGAINST ME
SPIRITUAL WARFARE
We leave the
penitents including all of the priests
as well as the people, after their daily sacrifices for sin saved, but not
safe. Their cleansing and forgiveness -a temporary thing lasting only until they
commit the next sin.
Guilt clings
to their consciences like a soiled rag for they surely know they will sin
again, and again and again and risk death each and every time lest they flee to
the high priest to confess and take a sacrifice per each sin to die in their
place.
Did they fearfully
awake in the night in a cold sweat, searching their minds for any missed sins
that needed to be confessed? Did they constantly remind themselves to keep the
best of the herds on standby for they will surely be needed?
There was
never any permanent rest for the priesthood, they were in charge of continual around
the clock, and daily sacrifices. On top of all this they still had to make a
yearly sacrifice as well to atone for the sins of themselves and the people as
a whole. However it is necessary for us to understand that they also had to purge out the
temple and everything in it with various blood sacrifices to cleanse it, for it
was defiled just being in the presence of unclean sinners. TRULY THIS WAS A WORKS MINISTRY AND A VERY POOR INADEQUATE ONE AT THAT!
Lev 16:29 And this shall be a statute for ever
unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall
afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own
country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: 30 For on that day shall the
priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all
your sins before the LORD. 31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye
shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever. 32And the priest, whom he
shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest's office
in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen
clothes, even the holy garments:33 And he shall make an atonement for the holy
sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the
congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the
priests, and for all the people of the congregation. 34 And this shall be an
everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for
all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses. love serola
