Idolatry- Modern day (part ten) Dear saints, in order to look at modern day idolatry, in the church, we must first know what is the church. Ironically in order to look at the false, we must know what is the true or that which cannot be, and is not false. Here, in God's scriptures, we will find our answer, as to what is the true church, in the word of God and not mere human reason. Children of light, the church is not an organization, institution, or corporation, and never referred to as a building of any kind. The church: In the Greek Nt. the word ekklesia refers to any assembly, local bodies of believers, or the universal body of all believers, of all ages in heaven and on earth. The Head, Foundation, (I Cor. 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ) ,Founder and builder of the church is Jesus Christ. He is Saviour, High Priest, Prophet, Redeemer, Messiah,King, and Lord. Through His death, burial and resurrection, He has all power and authority in heaven and on earth. (to be continued) love serola

IDOLATRY (part nine) Dear saints, it is important to note that when idolatry arises, various forms of occultism arises with it, which is just another aspect of idolatry. Most importantly when worship of the One True God is forsaken or diminished, reverence, respect, mercy and concern for human life, especially children is diminished or forsaken, (see the valley of Hinnom 2Ch. 28:3) Where children were burned alive in sacrifice to an idol. Those of us who have suffered even a little burn know how terrible one little burn to the skin feels-but imagine the horrific pain of those little children being burned alive! By their own parents! We can easily see how low human beings can sink when idolatry runs amok. We also come to see how malignant, vile, and evil people can become, who give themselves over to idolatry. Now I know some might ponder why I have not focused on the actual names of these idols . It is because the names of idols changes from generation to generation, but the deeds, arguments for and the works of those that serve them do not-Mat. 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Hence the focus is on those deeds and works that unerringly indicates that something, or some one other than the Lord is being worshipped outright, or mixed in with worship of the Lord. Feel free to look up the names of idols if you like, but I have focused elsewhere for the purpose of this study. Dear children of light, God forbids all men from idolatry, and He specifically and un-equivocally forbids the saints in every age from the old to the new and even to the book of Revelation, to abstain and forsake idolatry. Coming up next “modern day” idolatry, - we shall begin with the church. love serola

WE SHALL NOT BOW OURSELVES DOWN TO IDOLS
IDOLATRY (part eight) God bless you holy brothers and sisters for hanging in there with me in this study. I am learning right along with you, as I study, relying on the Holy Spirit to teach, guide and direct me also along with you into the way of righteousness. I too, am carefully searching out, and seeking to destroy any form of idolatry that exists in my life. I suspect this is a task that will arise periodically, or the temptation- and our Lord wants all of us to cast down all idols in our lives, whenever they arise, no matter who or what they might be. He is well able to strengthen us to do so! It goes without saying that the purpose of all my studies is that we shall come to love the Lord and one another more and more. In this way we shall please Him and glorify His Holy Name. This study is not to bring condemnation to any saint, but to provoke us to love our God, and one another so much so that the catalyst of God's love which never fails shall impel, encourage, and cause us to seize our God- given spiritual power to beat down, drag down, stomp down, pull down, cast down, break down and utterly destroy any thing, or anyone that arises in attempt to take our Lords place in our lives. Now it must be clear that I am not talking about or suggesting any kind of physical violence against anyone. Through love, prayer, study and obedience, GOD can affect our own lives, and those around us, as we live GOD"S way. 2Co. 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)5 Casting down imaginations, and EVERY high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity EVERY thought to the obedience of Christ;6 And having in a readiness to revenge ALL disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. When we really love Jesus, there is nothing that He wants from us, according to His word, that we will not do to please and honor Him. Jn. 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, if a man love me, He will keep my words: and my Father will love Him, and we will come unto Him, and make our abode with Him. God's love is the power and the driving force behind His children, and the source of every victory in Jesus, and nothing, absolutely nothing can defeat HIM, for love (agape) NEVER fails.(to be continued) love serola

WE SHALL NOT BOW OURSELVES DOWN TO IDOLS
IDOLATRY ( PART SEVEN) Dear saints let us continue where we left off in part six, the types of things that were worshipped, but before we do that I pray, holy brothers and sisters that it is perfectly and abundantly clear that God is not passive, tolerant, or accepting of ANY kind of idolatry. He forbids, and commands His children NOT to participate, create, or direct our worship to Any idol of Any kind. He does NOT accept MIXED worship, that is the worship of Himself along with the worship of Any kind of idol. All such worship is in vain, and absolutely unaccepted by God, for He alone is God and He will not give His glory to graven images, or idols of any kind. Idolatry is also worship of evil and not good, we know this because the bible tells us so in God's word. True worship that God accepts is directed ONLY to Him, willfully and always choosing to place God first, as He alone deserves. It means actively choosing to suffer discomfort and inconvenience in letting things go from our minds, hearts, lives that we have had more pleasure in than God. Those things might satisfy us physically, for a limited time, but is a poor joy that cannot be compared to the true joy of the Spirit in putting God first, and cannot truly be known without putting God first. God hates idolatry, He even warns not to make an idol of Him! Ex. 20:23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. He is saying that men or women can create something with their own hands, claiming that God can be worshipped through it. However God says in His word that Jesus the Son of God is the ONLY and SOLE mediator between God and men. No man can come to the Father, but through the Son. 1Ti. 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. WE SHALL NOT BOW OURSELVES DOWN TO IDOLS
IDOLATRY (part six) Little children of the Lord, let us resume our study of idolatry. As I mentioned previously the Bible depicts idolatry as taking place in a variety of locations including in the valleys. When idolatry appears, we also see the appearances of human sacrifice, the witch and the wizard-users of witchcraft; diviners-users of divination, consulters with familiar spirits, charmers, enchanters, candle burning to idols, observers of times, that is soothsayers or practitioners of magic, necromancers-communicators with the dead, astrologers, stargazers, and monthly prognosticators, and this list is not comprehensive. Dt. 18.10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 for all these things are an abomination unto the Lord... The scriptures also lists the names of the many idols, that were worshipped however, I shall mention only the types of idolatrous things that were worshipped in general: man- made poles and statues and images in the form of human or animal male or females; birds; nature that is the sun, moon and stars; creeping things that is insects, the list is not comprehensive. 1 John 5:21 Little children keep yourselves from idols. Amen. to be continued. love serola
