What’s your Choice?
Many believe that possessions constitute the greatest good and
highest value in life. Jesus warned us of the impossibility of living
for things and God at the same time. Just as a servant cannot work full
time for two masters, a person ceases to please God if he or she
desires wealth for its own sake. When we seek first the kingdom, we will
use money to glorify God and serve others.. As a believer you have to
choose which slave you will be.
No servant can serve
two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or
else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God
and mammon. Luke 16:13

Give Thanks
God’s enduring mercy towards us is worthy of our gratitude. By
reflecting on the wonders of nature, we can observe God at work. God has
demonstrated His wisdom and goodness. He who takes care of creation
takes care of us! As we reflect on His mercy, may we take a moment to
let Him know we are grateful. May our thank yous be more bountiful than
our requests.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His loving kindness is everlasting. Psalm 136:1 NASB

Hallelujah Christ Arose
The empty tomb is a perplexing problem for
unbelievers; it is a profound power to all who trust Christ. The fact of
the resurrection has been established by many infallible proofs; the
force of the resurrection has been demonstrated in many consecrated
lives. In faith one can say Christ Lives; in faithfulness he can say
Christ lives in me. The empty tomb gives assurance of a Christian
salvation. The presence and companionship of the living Christ is our
source of holy living.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:6

If Christ Be Not Risen
Paul explained why belief in the resurrection is essential. In
making the hypothetical statement, ”If Christ be not risen,” Paul first
spoke of the relationship between the resurrection and the Christian’s
hope of life after death. He compared the reality of the resurrection to
the reality of the salvation experience. The validity of the Christian
witness and preaching of the gospel he linked to the resurrection. I
think Paul was saying that either we believe the whole gospel of Jesus
Christ or we have no reason to believe any of it.
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 1 Corinthians 15:14 KJV

An Open Door
Jesus declared that He is the door to a new abundant life, meaning
it is accessible only through Him. He alone allows us in. During His
ministry on earth. Jesus welcomed liars, murderers, prostitutes,
thieves, swindlers, overachievers, underachievers, addicts, outcasts,
the abused and the abusers. He continues to invite everyone to enter
into the new life He offers. As we enter, we can leave behind all our
past- our guilt, our addictions, the skeletons in our closets, our
shame, our accomplishments, our secrets, our worldly pleasures. We enter
to receive the new life that He promises as well as the joy of being in
His eternal presence.
John 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

True Vine
When we enter into a relationship with Jesus as our Lord and Master, He is always standing beside us. When we abide in Christ,He gives us fruit bearing branches to reach out and make Christ known to others. Many good things come from bearing fruit. But apart from Him , we “can do nothing” John 15:5“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. [NLT]

The Great Protector
Have you ever been afraid in the night or when the doctor gives you
or your loved one a bad diagnosis? Psalm 56:3 says, “What time I am
afraid, I will trust in thee.” What a comfort! You don’t have to be
afraid. God is your confidence. Your trust is in Him. You can lean on
Him. You can depend on Him.
Proverbs 3:26 For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught. (NKJV)

Religious Matters
Yes what we do matters, but the motive behind the actions matters
more. During the last six months of Jesus’ life, He cautioned His
followers not to be like the Pharisees who passed themselves off as as
pious, always performing the proper rites [pictures and cups],
performing outward works that people could see. Playing to the crowd,
they went for the applause. Inspiring Jesus to say ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But
their heart is far from Me”. Mark 7:6 We may think we can get away with
appearance based morality and no one will be the wiser. We might fool
our wives or husbands. We might deceive the church, our business
partners , or our coworkers but God knows what is in our hearts.
For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men —the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”Mark 7:8 NKJV
