Emptiness
Vanity, emptiness. We see it all around us today. But this is
nothing new in the history of mankind. While excavating Roman ruins,
archaeologists kept coming across the inscription “NFFNSNC.” They
finally determined that the initials reflected the pagan philosophy of
the Romans: “I was not, I was, I am not, I do not care.” In other words,
life is empty, meaningless, void. But there is one who is, who was, and
does care. He cared enough to give His life that we could be saved. His
name Jesus Christ.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal
life. KJV Romans 5:1 Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

A Time to Pray
On the night that Jesus was betrayed, He was troubled in His spirit
and went to the garden of Gethsemane to pray. He kept praying and went
back three times, saying the same words again.
There is a time to pray in faith and stand on it, but here we see
that Jesus Himself went back and prayed the same words again when He was
troubled and sorrowful. He prayed until He had the peace in His spirit
to face the trial that was coming. He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”
When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. Matthew 26:42-43

God’s Righteousness
God’s righteousness will not end. You and I can be upright for a
period of time, but we cannot maintain that forever. He can. He is just
and and honorable. He acts according to what is right. His judgements
are right. Who better to judge than He who knows the hearts of all
people? When we are worried or angered when something isn’t right, we
need to just take it to the Lord. He is righteous always . He knows what
is true, and His judgments are based upon truth. As did the psalmist,
we need to trust Gods nature, delight in His Word, and ask for
understanding.….
This passage of scripture reminds us that our God is
righteous...Righteous art thou O LORD, And upright are thy judgements
Psalm 119:137

Christ Exalted
Lost people don’t think about Jesus very often. But if they watch a
Christian go through a trial, and respond with joy, Jesus begins to
look attractive. As he wrote his letter to the Philippians , Paul was
chained in prison, yet he recognized that his trials magnified the Lord.
His concern was not on himself but that Christ was being exalted. When
we are struggling through difficult situations, we need to stop for a
minute and think about the people who are watching us. We have a great
opportunity to demonstrate to them what faith really means. Some of us
might be facing trials right now that could be used to magnify God. Are
we willing to be used to glorify God?
For me to live is Christ, for me to die is gain Philippians. 1:2 NIV

The Comforter
When the disciples were confused about Jesus departure and needed
reassurance, Jesus promised when He left He would send a Comforter who
would be with them always. How great to know that the Holy Spirit dwells
in our hearts to bring comfort and reassurance to each of Gods
children. No matter what problem we face today, whether it is the loss
of a loved one, sickness, a family problem, or just loneliness, We know
that Gods Spirit who came to dwell with us in our new birth will offer
solace. We are not alone. We can call upon the Comforter.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever. John 14:16
