Good Fruit
Have you ever thought about how a tiny apple seed becomes a tree? A seed becomes a seedling, then a tree: it produces fruit, and the seeds from the apple start the cycle over again.A Christian’s life is similar. Christians begin with a knowledge of Gods love for us. We continue to learn, constantly moving closer to the Son. Our relationships with God grow until our lives begin to overflow with His love, showing the world our Christian fruit. Just as an apple tree bears apples Christians should also bear good fruit. For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither does a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Luke 6:43

An Offensive Gift
Have you ever been left in a lurch by someone? On the other hand ,has anyone ever given you a break when you’ve messed up? Football season reminds us that many players dropped the ball and then came back to win the game with a perfect catch. Adam left all mankind in a deadly lurch called sin, but Jesus gave us a break-a break we didn’t actually deserve-because we are sinners. Jesus died to pay to pay the penalty for our sins. This act of grace was greater than the sin that stained all mankind. [Romans 5:15 But not as the trespass, so also is the free gift. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound unto the many.] This amazing gift is described in verse 15. This gift isn’t like Adams offense, which brought death. Instead it brings life. But just as Adams offense affected every person on earth, the action of one man, Jesus Christ, overcame the sin of Adam and provided a way of salvation for every individual. This gift is also free. For those who have accepted Jesus’ gift, grace abounds. It puts us on thee offense in the game of life.

Persistence Pays
Have you thought recently about what Satan wants to accomplish in your life? His goal is simple to lead us to mess up, give up, or to get puffed up. That is he wants us to fall into sin, get discouraged, or become arrogant. We can counter the second goal to get us to give up if we understand the truth that Jesus taught in this passage. Luke 18:5. Luke 18:5-Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, that she not wear me down in the end. A helpless and vulnerable widow sought justice from a wicked judge who didn’t fear God or respect men. He rejected her pleas for while, but he finally gave in because she wouldn’t give up. Persistence paid off. If an unjust judge ultimately responds to continual pleas, how much more will a just God respond to the cries of His people? With that question, Jesus reminds us to pray at all times and not to lose heart. Persistence in prayer pays off when we pray to a caring God. If you have been praying for God’s help in some area and He seemingly hasn’t responded yet? If so don’t listen to the enemy’s voice just pray on.

Perils Of a Physical Focus
If you listen to advertisers, most of us need help to look good. We weigh to much, so we should buy diet pills. Then of course we will need an abs toner. We should also conceal facial blemishes, increase muscle mass, and implant hair plugs. That’s what the world suggests to us—how we look externally matters more than who we are internally. In the old testament we see the story of David’s son Absalom who shows us other-wise. 2 Samuel 14:25 But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him. He was more handsome than anyone, blessed with unblemished skin and abundant hair [a sign of vigor in his world]. Yet he arranged his half brother’s death, burned Joab’s fields, and rebelled against his father. Ultimately his hair became his undoing when it caught in a tree limb and he was murdered. We should take care of the body God has given us , but focusing on the physical while ignoring the spiritual is dangerous. We should exercise but never neglect –studying Gods Word.

Wise Lips
Abraham Lincoln is credited with saying, Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. Wisdom can often be found in remaining silent! What we speak out loud can and will be used against us. Other words we simply think. For instance if someone cuts you off on the highway, what do you say to yourself? Silent words, as well as spoken words, can indicate the state of our souls. It’s challenging and convicting to think about what we’ve said or wanted to say when were angry. I often think what kind of person am I? When we say things that are inappropriate or sinful, we must repent and ask God for forgiveness. If someone else hears our words we must apologize to them also. We should consider how words can effect others around us. Also we need to think about the condition of our heart from which these words came.True change in our words begins with a change in our hearts. Proverbs 10:19 In the multitude of words, sin is not lacking; but he who holds back his lips is wise.

Sealed With A Promise-
Do you own an automobile? a home? If so you probably remember when your loan was fully repaid, and you received loan papers with the phrase paid in full written across them. With that document, ownership was officially yours. In the ancient world, ownership was marked by a seal, a seal that bore the image or signet of the owner. The seal was also used to ratify contracts, to authenticate letters, and to safe guard possessions. No wise person would break the seal of the king. That image of the seal portrays the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. In Gods grace if we believe the message of the truth, and God seals us with his Spirit. God marks His ownership of us, authenticates His work in us, and safe guards us in His care. In fact Gods Spirit is the pledge, or the guarantee of our ultimate salvation. He has sealed us, thus securing our eternal inheritance. What an amazing truth!— Ephesians 1:13-14, In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

God is Bigger Than any Building
After a year of marriage a newlywed couple was heading for divorce. While talking to their pastor the wife cried that her husband rarely spent time with her anymore. The husband, exhausted from the work schedule he had adopted, was shocked. He had worked so hard to provide “things” for his new wife when all she wanted was to be with him. We consider a roof over our heads a necessity of life. Therefore, God must also need a roof over head. Christians sometimes can be accused of spending more time on Gods physical house, their church building, when what He desires of us is relationship.-1Kings 8:27 But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded! We may find ourselves so busy doing the things of God that we forget what it means to sit at His feet and enjoy the relationship He offers.
