Is it From God?
God keeps opening more hearts to the truth of the gospel even though new
believers know they will suffer because of their decisions. Persecution has
always been a possibility and often a probability for Christians. According to
Jesus, persecution is normal for Godly believers. The
wise Gamaliel told the Sanhedrin that when it’s of God, not even persecution
can stop the march of God’s kingdom. How faithful would we be to the Lord and
His church if we knew their might be policemen waiting to arrest us the moment
we stepped outside? Many Christians across the world face that choice on a
daily basis. But
if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight
against God. Acts 5:39

The Good Shepherd
Christ leads His flock as a shepherd. There is a big difference. If
one sheep doesn’t want to follow, it can stray away into distant
places, but our Blessed Lord came to seek and to save those who become
lost in the fields of sin. The Lord Jesus Christ is a shepherd who goes
on before us. John 10:27 says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them,
and they follow me.” The sheep do not run ahead of Him, nor does He
drive them with a whip. They follow because the Lord has given them a
new desire, a new will, and they long to fall down at His throne and
sing His praises.

Golden Rule
We have talked so much about religion as an opiate, foxhole
religion, and escapism that we have made people ashamed to take help.
But we need help. Everyone does. A little girl asked Daddy, why do they
call that verse about ‘doing unto others as we would have them do to us’
a golden rule?” “Well I guess because it’s so good.’’ “But why golden?”
she insisted. ‘’Oh I see. You want to know why gold was connected with a
rule we live by. Let’s see. Here, I have it; because gold was the most
valuable thing they knew then, except possibly certain jewels.’’ “You
mean the rule is worth a lot of gold?” “Sure it is the most valuable
rule man has ever known. It means that each one of us must think of how
we would want to be treated. Then we must treat others as we would want
to be treated. It is more valuable than gold.
Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. [NIV]

Many Ways?
How do we get to heaven? There are people who would say there are
many different ways that lead to heaven. But Jesus said there is only
one way and that is through Him. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth,
and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”. John 14:6.
Of course there are many who will disagree with this. But if they do,
they apparently do not believe the Bible. Where do you stand. Jesus said
“you are either for me or against me.”Will you stand for with Him or
against Him? It is going to be a decision you will have to make soon.
Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and
broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in
by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which
leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Change Directions
If you were driving down a road and you came across a sign that
reads road closed. What would you do? would you keep on driving or would
you turn around and go another way. When we decide to give our lives to
Christ that means we must repent of our old ways we must go another
route. In other words we must turn our lives around completely make a u
turn follow Christ and His ways.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God,–John 3:15-16 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but
have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life.

Seed for the Sower
We don’t need to worry about what we have, God will provide. But we
must seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these
things will be given to us. God will give us what is sufficient. Gods
righteousness remains forever.
2 Corinthians 9:10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread
for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the
harvest of your righteousness;

New Hearts
We all have a natural tendency to sin. We have good intentions
of reforming our ways and giving up our favorite sins, but as soon as
the tempter comes into our minds bringing memories of the so called good
times we had with our sin, there we go again like rats following the
pied piper. What we need is more than cleaning up on the outside. We
need more than to reform. We need new hearts with the desire for the
things of God and not the ways of sin. These new hearts can only come
from God after we have yielded our old hearts to Him.
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

God’s Generosity
Our Heavenly Father is so wise. He will not over gift us, lest we
become boastful, thinking ourselves to be providers. Bur He is generous.
He even knows what we need before we ask! Our wealth is not determined
by how much we have, but how little we need after depending on God.
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much:
and that he is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Luke 16:10. Stand fast therefore in the liberty where with Christ hath made us
free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians
5:1. Have a safe and blessed 4th of July.
