Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV

    Sacrifices

People all over the world make sacrifices to gods they don’t know. They diligently carry out religious devotion in hopes of going to heaven. But the sacrifice of the sinless Son of God is the only means by which we can be saved. The wonderful thing is His payment for sin is for everyone everywhere who believes.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 NASB

    Closed Minds,Open Minds

There are dangers in closing our hearts and minds to Jesus even for a short time. Closing puts one in the wrong crowd, leads one into temptation, and causes one to deny Jesus, to swear and to commit other sins. Things that keeps our hearts and minds open include knowledge of God’s Word, our daily road map and guide book; prayer, which helps us to help others; associating with good company; and a good life work that keeps one on higher ground.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. John 7:17

    New Hearts

Just as diet and exercise can help heal or prevent physical damage to our hearts. God’s cleansing and renewal are necessary to heal our spiritually diseased hearts. Jesus came to give us new hearts and minds. God knows our hearts.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?Jeremiah 17:9 KJV

    Our Real Home

Life is temporary. Our real home is in heaven where we will spend eternity with our Savior. Jesus went to prepare a place for us, and we can face death unafraid because we have a great and merciful God who loves us with an everlasting love. He has promised us eternal life and He always keeps His promises. In this world few things can be known for sure, but we can always depend on God’s Word. If you have accepted Jesus’ offer of salvation, your fate is secure. Jesus’ name is on the deed.

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.  1 John 5:13 NKJV
