Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV

    Biggest Loser

There is a tv series called the biggest loser. My wife watches it every week when she can. I was thinking about who the biggest losers in life are. All though the show on tv is about loosing weight and the one who looses the most weight over a period of time wins. In our walk through life it is right the opposite the biggest losers are the ones who do not believe in Jesus our Savior..John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And hear is the good news, the winners will be..John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    Blessings, Great News

There is a lot of condemnation for sin in the Bible. It paints a very ugly picture of the consequences. But there are also great promises for the ones who believe in Jesus  and obey Gods will. Here are some of the blessings that are in store for believers.

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love him.

Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

    Whats Next?

It is so sad to watch what is happening in Japan. It is a terrible time for the people of Japan. Our prayers go out to them. I wonder what will happen next. I don’t know why these things are happening. What I do know is that the Bible speaks of these types of occurrences as the time for Christ’s return grows near. Let us make haste in preparing ourselves and ministering to the lost so all will have a chance to be saved and forever spend eternity with Jesus…Luke 21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

    Absolutely Beautiful

There are many places in the world that are absolutely beautiful. God made all of these things for us to enjoy. The magnificent mountains, valleys, lakes, streams, plains, canyons, the list goes on and on. With all this beauty that we can behold here on earth, it doesn’t even come close to the beauty God has in store in heaven for those who love Him. I sure want to be able to see this beauty some day what about you?..1Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

    A Closer Walk

We all have times if we are Christians, when we feel we aren’t as close to God as we need to be. The things of the world begins to get us down. We are out of step with the Holy Spirit. Seems like the harder we try the more things happen to keep our spirits down. This is nothing but Satan’s way of attacking Gods people. He likes to try to make us think that we are fighting a loosing battle that we can’t win. But you see if we read the book we know how the story ends. With the triumphant return of Jesus Christ  we will all be winners.  We have the power through Jesus Christ to tell Satan to bug off! This way we can maintain our close walk with God, and ward off the wicked ways of the world.. And behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me to give every man according to his work shall be. Revelation 22:12

    Around The Bend

When I was a child growing up in a rural Tennessee  community, my brother and uncle who was about the same age, and myself rode our bicycles a lot down old logging roads. One time as we were riding we came upon a sharp turn in the road and we couldn’t see what was beyond it. With some discussion about who would chance what was around the bend, my uncle said he would go first.  So off he went, then silence, we yelled after him is everything ok? to which he replied everything is ok come on. We barreled around the bend to see him setting in the middle of the creek on his bike. Needlessly to say we joined him. We never know what is around life’s next bend, but we know when we trust in God we will make it ok… Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 1 Corinthians 13:7

    Go The Extra Mile

The popular proverb, “Go the extra mile,” essentially paraphrases Matthew 5:41. And whosoever compels thee to go a mile , go with him twain. This encouragement by Jesus reminded the Israelites of the privilege Roman soldiers enjoyed to compel them to carry the soldier’s  belongings for a mile. This was a demeaning law that only increased resentment against Rome. However, as He often did, Jesus spoke four paradoxical commands: [1] Turn the other cheek. [2]Give someone who sues you more than requested [3] Go the extra mile. [4] Give generously and help someone who asks to borrow from you. We only have to look at the life of Jesus to see these commands carried out with perfection. They run totally counter to the message of the world to ” grab all the power and money you can get, regardless  of who you may hurt in the process. I wonder how many are ready to go the extra mile?
