Who Is Lord?
Many books have been written on the names of Jesus. He is Savior, Lord, Friend, and mediator. He is Son, Brother, Judge, and Peace. He is Love, Guide, Servant, and Leader. By studying God’s Word we continually discover more about who Jesus is. The more we know the more we will want to know. Only when we learn more about Christ’s identity can we grow more like Him. As we grow in Him , our capacity increases to praise Him, acknowledging Him not only as Savior but also as Lord..And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:11

Praise God Persistantly
Gods Word tells us that there are rewards when we keep on praising Him. To focus on all He is, how He provides for us , and how He fulfills His promises helps us to maintain healthy states of mind and emotions. We need to remember that He is worthy of praise even if every thing is not as we think it should be.We need to be persistent in our praise of God, we need to make that praise a priority. We will be glad that we did…From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORDS name is praised. Psalm 113:3

Childhood Prayer
As a child you probably repeated this mealtime prayer; God is great, God is good. Let us thank him for our food. By His hand we are fed. He gives to us our daily bread. With these simple words children learned about the generosity of our Heavenly Father and that God supplies our needs. We may have asked God for something and never received it. Maybe we continued to pray and beg, perhaps asking others to join in petitioning God to provide an answer—- the answer we wanted? Perhaps later we find ourselves thanking God that our prayer was not answered. We must understand that God knows our needs. He sees the big picture while we only see the present. And God is indeed generous in providing our needs… That thou givest them they gather; thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good. Psalm 104:28

Everlasting Light Of God
When we have an ice storm, or something knocks out our power, and when night falls, it is so dark with no lights on anywhere. and if it is cloudy its even worse. It can be very scary, so we try to find some kind of light, a candle or flashlight some means of light….And there will be no night there, and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign forever. Revelation 22:5…. Matthew 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth…. This reminds us that for those who don’t know Christ eternity will be even darker. However for the servants of God mentioned in Revelation 22:5 it’s a much brighter prospect We have the promise from the Lord that we will live and reign with Him in eternal heaven, where night will never fall. We can rest assured that Christ has reserved a place for us in that land of unending day…. Praise God for that Promise.

Distinct From The World
Why shouldn’t I after all, everyone else is. Such is the common reasoning for most age groups. Peter provided advice for that question. As Christians we are not to be like everyone else. We are to be Holy, which means set apart. We are to rid our minds of anything that would cause our conversations or lifestyles to suggest we are following the ways of the world. We are to be distinct, holy , and set apart from the world. Why are we to be holy? because God is holy, and we should strive to be like Him… Because it is written,…..BE YE HOLY; FOR I AM HOLY.1 Peter 1:16

Be Strong
Strength can be demonstrated in many different ways. There is not only physical strength, but also emotional and spiritual strength. We may have one without the other two, or we could be fortunate enough to have strength in all three areas Growing in spiritual strength and maturity comes from our daily walk with God: regularly reading Gods word and prayer. Having a strong spiritual strength leads to a lifestyle of grace being extended to others. What a good way to begin the new year being strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. The rewards will not only be ours, but God will be glorified….therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:1…..

He Is Love
God is the source of love. Love is the main characteristic of Christians. We are to channel Gods love to others. Not everyone is receptive to Gods love, but how precious it is when another person responds to Gods love because he or she has seen Gods love in us… He that loveth not knoweth not God: for God is love. 1 John 4:8

Awesome God
I wonder if sometimes we take our Lord for granted. We just call on Him when we need Him. Otherwise we never think of our Lord. God is an awesome God He is the center of life. The creator of all things. We should be in awe of Gods great power worship Him above all things and keep Him first in our hearts and minds. God is not something you pull out of your pocket when you need Him. He is there all the time in charge of all beings and all things, an awesome and powerful true and living God.We should fall on our face and worship Him, for what He truly is, The one and only true and living God… O praise the LORD all ye nations : praise him all ye people.2-For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 117:1-2

LIVE FOR GODS GLORY
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Collossians 3:17....For us to have goals for this new year is important We derive our goals from Gods Word and listening to His voice as we seek His direction. as we follow through on these goals, we ultimatley reflect who we truly believe God to be. As we speak to others and act out these goals, we reveal that God has a place of honor in our lives. Wishing everyone a very Blessed and Happy New Year.
