Set Apart People
We are set apart as God’s children! Our Father invites us to freely
come to Him, talk to Him, and walk with Him. However, we are set apart
for a purpose; to offer praise. God’s love compels us to respond to His
offer of salvation. and receive forgiveness for our sins. We cross over
from darkness to light. We have the amazing privilege of working
together to tell others about God’s grace and love.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood,a holy nation, a people for His possession,so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1Peter 2:9 HCSB

Life’s Race
Life is a race for some longer than others; for all of us it’s a
struggle. We know a multitude of heroes cheer for us to finish. The
writer of Hebrews encouraged his readers to run light, without the
weight of their favorite sins. He challenged them to run hard; to run
with patience; to run to win. Yet we who run aren’t alone. Others run
with us. In fact, one runner in front marks the way, sets the pace, and
shows us the best form. Our “fore runner” is Jesus Christ. Follow His
lead! your prize awaits!
Therefore
we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let
us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1 NKJV

Worldly Wisdom, Heavenly Wisdom
We all know someone who wears the pious cloak of false wisdom.
Earthly wisdom can be mean spirited and ambitious, seeking to always
have the upper hand. It’s like a storm surge it crushes everything in
it’s path and leaves behind a residue of devastation. Heavenly wisdom
however begins with a holy life. It’s pure , gentle, unwavering, and
ultimately humble because true wisdom sees the dark contrast between
God and humankind. Wisdom knows God in His loving kindness saved us
despite our wretchedness. How can pride or ambition coexist with the
knowledge and understanding of the gospel? True wisdom comes from above.
And when we ask for it, just like a generous prodigal father, God pours
His wisdom into our lives.
But the wisdom that is
from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be in
treated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without
hypocrisy. James 3:17 KJV

Facing Life's Phobias
By the millions, we human beings try our best to avoid
inevitability of facing our fears and specifically their ultimate root,
death. We are not only afraid of death, the root of all anxiety, but we
are also afraid of knowing ourselves and accepting ourselves as we
really are flaws and all. When Jesus said “be not afraid,” He was
saying to His disciples that He could handle their fears because they
had Someone on their side. They were not alone. The same is true for you
and me. Whatever we are facing, we can allow the words of Jesus to put
steel in our backbones and hope in our hearts.
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. Matthew 14:27 KJV

The Final Answer
“What does God require of me?” That is the question. Micah was
given the answer at the end of the age of the Old Testament law, maybe
because by then it was obvious the answer was not being heard. “Here,
Micah, the Lord said, while addressing all of us, “is what I require of
man: Be fair, love one another, and love me. Is that to hard?” It’s such
a simple question isn’t it?God has shown us what is good and what He
requires of us. And the answer is the same today as it was then-simple,
profound, obvious, and straightforward: ” Love Me, and love your
brother” Jesus is the answer!
He has shown you,
O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8 NKJV
