True Hope

Freedom in Christ

Through His death on the cross and His resurrection, Christ offers us the ultimate freedom- freedom over sin and death. Through Gods grace, we are free to serve Him obediently and joyfully. Freedom  in Christ allows us to live unselfishly, thinking of others. How many around us need to hear about the freedom Jesus offers?. Do we place a high enough value on our freedom in Christ  that we are willing to say as Isaiah did, ”Here am I; send me” Isaiah 6:8, Through our freedom in Christ we can be assured of eternal life- the hope of righteousness. Our hope in Christ is much more than a maybe. It’s a guarantee, sealed by His death on the cross and His Resurrection.

Call of Christ

All through the years the call of Christ and our willingness to serve Him has brought a powerful advocate into our lives so that we don’t have to  fight the battle with Satan by ourselves. Christ walks with us He protects us from the evil one; and He never leaves us standing alone cornered by the tempter. Jesus recognized Satan as the enemy and employed the scriptures as His powerful response. These power loaded scriptures are available for us today.Trust in God He cares for all. And by all means trust in His Word the Holy Bible.

And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written,You shall worship the Lord your God,and Him only you shall serve.’Luke 4:8

Blessed Nation

America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and values. Our constitution and currency declare that trust in God. Many years ago when television stations signed off each night [yes they actually did that] many would use Psalm 33:12 as a sign off verse. Yet many of the actions across our nation do not exemplify the trust in God we claim. The military  develops strategies, and politicians set into motion domestic policies to address  threats to national security and promote economic prosperity. But their actions do nor guarantee success. We must acknowledge that victory comes from the Lord. God is Creator and Deliverer, He moves throughout history and is involved in the lives of His people.

 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalm 33:12 KJV

Jesus’ First Miracle

The main point of Jesus’ first miracle was not that He was interested in the success of a wedding occasion nor that He was able to bring joy to family life. Rather He had the power to satisfy the deepest longings of the heart in a way the old religion of Judaism could not do. Just as the wine that He miraculously produced was superior to the supply of wine that had been exhausted, so the new life He came to bring far surpasses anything the world had ever known before. Thus our Lord revealed the glory of His divine person and work, and “his disciples believed on him.” It is ever so. If only men will ”taste and see” [Psalm 34:8] the grace and power of Jesus Christ, they will have no difficulty believing on Him. Faith is always strengthened by a personal experience of His power.
