GOD WITH A FACE

I wont God with a face on," said a little girl to her minister one day-- thereby expressing a childlike, nevertheless profound, desire for reality in religion. she was not satisfied with some nebulous, etherreal abstraction for God. she wanted something definate tangebile, she wanted someone for God.... not a something. perhaps that is why men, women, do not take  God more seriously.They hold a theory about God. there notion of God is foggy , hazy, remote--an idea that is beyond them with no connection with everyday. A man, woman wants God with a face on' who is the God you worship?'' I have asked men, women this question on many occasions. tell me about him. what is he like? Where does he dwell? Is he real to to you?" Again and again they stop after a few confused mutterings and admit that God is unreal. When pinned down they have little to say. Why should a man bother about God if that is all he means to him?  But consider Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ is God in focus! In him  we see God clearly, distinctly, sharply, down to earth! If you want to know what God is like, look at his Son. If you wont to hear God listen to his Son. A man, woman, will make no mistake following Christ. Let us begin with Jesus whereever we must to be honest with ourselfs; Let us investigate Jesus all the way, Let us go along with Jesus as for as truth dictates--- as for as honest inquiry leads. We will begin to realize that Jesus is God in focus....You cant go wrong trusting Christ, following Christ, worshiping Christ! He will lead you to a personal, dynamic, experience with God.

RESTORE

When life caves in, you do not need reasons, you need comfort. you do not need answers; you need someone.And Jesus does not come to us with an explanation; he comes to us with his presence We are always seeking the reason. We wont to know why. Like Job, we finally wont God to tell us what is going on...But God does not reveal, he reveals himself. He comes to us as warmth when we are cold, fellowship when we are alone, strength when we are week, peace when we are troubled, courage when we are afraid, songs when we are sad, and bread when we are hungry. He is with us on our journeys, he is there when we are home. He sits with us at our table. He knows about funerals and weddings and commencements and hospitals and jails and unemployment and labor and lauhghter and rest and tears. He knows because he is with us. He comes to us again and again.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Psalms 51:9-13

9-Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities

10- Create in me a clean heart. O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

11-Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

12- Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

13- Then will I teach transgressors thy ways and sinners shall be converted unto thee

 We all need a revival in our hearts once in a while, and to remember what the love

of Jesus is all about. Praise Him for ever more

THE CHOSEN ONES

Here it is coming up on Friday again where does the time go? Here are some things that I wonder if a lot of folks think about. We that believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for our sins that we might be saved, are Gods chosen ones Paul teaches this  in Galations 3:26-29 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Jesus Christ. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put 0n Christ. And here it is verse 28 and 29 explains 28 There is neitherJew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free. there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christs then are ye Abrahams seed. and heirs according to the promise. We are all one in Christ and we are all the chosen ones , as long as we believe on Him and follow his commandents. That is more good news. May we all have a blessed day in Christ. Praise Jesus for ever more.

HOPE

There is is a light at the end of the tunnel ,there is hope for every one who believes, there is the promise that Jesus made to all of us.Light- John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Hope- John 14:1 Let your heart not be troubled: ye believe in God  believe also in me.14:2 In my fathers house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And here is the promise. 14:3- And if I go and prepare a place for you. I will come again, and recieve you unto myself; that where I am you may be also. That is where I want to be, where He is.

GODS CHURCH

We need to understand that its not the church building or the denomination that makes the church it is in the heart of the  congregation. If we dont have God in our heart then we have no church. the name that is on the building does not matter, it is what is in your heart. I go to a baptist building but I am truly in the church of God as we all better be. I think if everone would recogonize this very important fact. our relationship with God through our church would be so much better. and maybe just maybe we would understand what Paul was saying in 1Cor:4-5-6 Now there are divirsities of gifts, but the same spirit. 4 And there are different administrations but he same Lord.6 And there are diversities of operrations, but it is the same God which worketh in all. I love all my brothers in Christ, as Jesus commanded us to do . and I pray everyone else will learn that we as christians are all in the body of Christ, as one.

BY GODS GRACE

As we come upon another sunday, I was reading some verses out of the book of Titus that we shoud keep in mind. Titus 2:11-15 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldily lusts, we should live soberly, righiteously, and godly, in this present world. 13 Looking for that blessed hope. and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purfify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15 These things speak. and exhort and rebuke with all authority. let no man despise thee. 3:7 That being justified by his grace we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. It is by Gods grace that we are saved. We should be overwhelmed with joy for the love that God has for the world that he gave His only begotten Son for our sins. Give Him all the praise and glory for ever, worship Him constantly.  I hope every one has a great day in the Lord, as in each and every day. In Jesus name.   Amen.
