Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV

    Relieve

What we need to know, of course, is not just that God exsists, not just that beyond the steely brightness of the stars there is a cosmic intelligence of some kind that keeps the whole show going, but there is a God right here in the thick of our day-by-day lives who may not be writing messages about himself in the stars but in one way or another is trying to get messages through our blindness as we move around here knee deep in the fragrant muck of misery and marvel of the world. It is not objective proof of Gods existence that we want but the experience of Gods presence. That is the miracle we are really after, and that is also the miracle I think we really get.... For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. Job 19:25

    Trust In Our Mighty God

The Lord on high is mighter than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Psalm 93:4.... The Book of Psalms is full of royal potraits of our Great God. The 93rd Psalm is one such portrait it uses words to paint Gods sovereignty. The Lord is clothed with magesty and strength, and He is greater than all the kings and presidents of the world. He is seated on an ancient throne and still rules today. He is more powerful than the forces of nature, His house is a holy place, and He promises to dwell with those who make their hearts His home.

Almighty God , You are greater than anything I will face today.

    Praise God For His Kindness

For his merciful kindnesss is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 117:2....Nearly two thousand years ago, Jesus told His small number of disciples that someday the gospel would be preached to the whole world... And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; then shall the end come. Matthew 24:14... At the time, it seemed like an impossible  undertaking. However, we see today that Gods merciful kindness has extended to the furthest reaches of the globe. Psalm 117 is one of the most unique chapters in Gods word. It is both the shortest chapter and the middle chapter of the Bible. May it remind us to praise God for His missionary heart and pray for those who are making sacrifices in other lands to make His love known.

    FROM DEATH TO lIFE

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Acts 5:30... Jesus said to Martha after her brother Lazarus died, I am the ressurection, and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live. Even as Jesus was resurrected, so will believers be raised in the last days to to live with him eternally. let us be sure we are  ready for that wonderful day.

Thank you, Father, for your promise of life after death in eternity with you.

    Pray Expectanly

And all things, whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall recieve. Matthew 21:22 [KJV]...We expect a lot of from those we know, and they expect a lot from us. We wont to come through for one another. Jesus expected to eat figs from a fig tree. When Jesus saw the tree was barren. He declared it would never bear fruit again. The tree immediately withered while Jesus  disciples looked on in amazement. Jesus was using the miracle to demonstrate Israels spiritual barenness. Like the fig tree, Israel had great potential to bear spiritual fruit but would face destruction of its faliure to do so. But what does the fig tree have to do with prayer?Jesus reminded  the disciples that faith can work miracles, even the movement of mountains. Faith and prayer can make it posible to bear fruit for God. We are to expect great things in prayer. God will not disappoint us. All believers should want to live with that kind of expectant faith.

    SHARING CHRIST WITH OTHERS

And many of the Samaritons of that city believed on him for saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did, John 4:39.... The woman at the well was a bad influence in her neighborhood. Married five times, living un married with a sixth man. But Jesus cared for her. Breaking rabbinic practices, He convinced her He was the expected Messiah, the Water of life. She excitedly ran home to share her experience with neighbors. Many of them believed on Him. We should try to establish a relationship with someone who is not a Christian. Pray for them regularly ask God to help us. And when the time is right ask them to make a commitment, it will make their day and ours.

Ask God For What You Need

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. Matthew 7:7..[KJV].... The nature of any discipline, physical or spiritual, requires that we persist at it to do it well. This is what Jesus taught about expressing our needs in prayer .What is not captured well in English is that each of the words ask, seek, and knock are in the present tense, which denotes a continued action. The emphasi is not meerly prayer. but persistance in prayer. We persist because we have a Heavenly Father who is willing to answer and who is wise enough to give us what we need. We often dont know for what to ask. But God knows what we need. No matter how many times we have called on Him, we need never hesitate to pour out our hearts to Him.

Father thank you for inviting me to be persistent in prayer as I trust You to provide my needs.

    God Knows Our Needs

Be ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him. Matthew 6:8...God is always right in  His estimation of what we need. Why? Because He knows us completely. He gives only perfect gifts. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down fro the father of lights. with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James1:17... Maybe not everything God gives seems perfect to us at the time, but He knows exactly what is needed to shape us into the people He desires us to be. What do we need from God today? Even before we ask He knows and wants to give us good and perfect gifts.

    Gods Love In Us

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God. 1 John 4:15....  And they will know we are Christians by our love. These are the lyrics of an old song. The many ways we  proclaim Jesus and confess that He is Gods Son is a sign of Gods work in us. Perhaps Christians have no more important role in todays chaotic, violent world, than to show Gods love through our actions  and in our words  in grocery stores, restaurants, traffic, and with people we meet as we go about our daily lives. We are to be His light in a dark world. Lets be His light in a dark world.

    Mothers Day

    To Mother

You Brought us up all our life
    Showing us wrong from right
There was times I was upset
But I know now it was good sense.
You kept us warm and kept us fed
You even checked on us when we were in bed.
I never know how much you cared
Till Randy wrecked his bike and hit his head
You came out of the house with your housecoat on
So Randy would not be alone
There are so many mothers in this world
But I have to say you are the best one
There was times you were hard on us, I was mad
But after years went by I am glad
There's times I stop and think
How wonderful it is to have a mother so great
With all you said and did
I'm glad you didn't give up on this kid
So after this I have to say
You are a special mother to this day
So sit down on this beautiful day
'Cause you earned I have to say.

    History Of Mothers Day

    History Of Mothers Day

Historians believe that our modern day tradition of honouring our mothers dates back to the ancient cultures of Greece and Rome. Mother goddesses were worshipped in both of these cultures during the spring and in religious festivals. Rhea, powerful goddess and wife of Cronus, was also known as Mother of the Gods. There is evidence of a mid-March festival to honour the Roman goddess Magna Mater, or Great Mother which dates back to 250 BC. The celebration of the "Mother Church" replaced the pagan festivals during the spread of Christianity throughout Europe.

Since it was believed that the Mother Church was spiritual

power that gave life and protected from harm it was customary for people to bring gifts to the church. In Europe during the middle Ages, the fourth Sunday in lent became known as mothering Sunday. Most poor folk were employed as servants of wealthy landowners, and therefore forced to live in the home of their employer. They were allowed to return home on the fourth Sunday in Lent, and often brought small gifts or a "mothering cake" also known as Simnel Cake. The cakes, prepared ahead used dried fruit, as these would keep and travel well during the journey home, which would have been made on foot, or if one was fortunate, by horse and cart.

"I think it must somewhere be written that the virtues of mothers shall be visited on their children, as well as the sins of their fathers." Charles Dickens Modern tradition of Mother's Day

Julia Ward Howe, author of the words of the Battle Hymn of the Republic, was the first person to suggest that America adopt a day when all mothers should be honoured. She saw Mother's Day as a day dedicated to peace. The suggestion was not taken seriously however, although she held Mother's Day meetings in Boston, Massachusetts every year.

The celebration of Mother's Day as a holiday in the United States is attributed to Mrs. Anna Jarvis, who dedicated her life to promoting the holiday. She was inspired by her own mother's devotion to the raising of a family of eleven children. On the second anniversary of her mother's death, the second Sunday in May, Anna Jarvis convinced her mother's parish in West Virginia to hold a celebration of Mother's Day. The church was decorated with her mother's favourite flower, the white carnation, a symbol of sweetness, purity and endurance. Mother's Day - the day of flowers The white carnation was originally worn to symbolize a mother who has passed away and a red carnation for one who is living. However, many other flowers are now accepted as being significant on Mother's Day. In 1910, West Virginia officially recognized Mother's Day, and in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed it a national holiday.

    DOERS OF THE WORD

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22..... Behold, I am here Lord, answered Ananias when called in a vision. But once he heard  Gods command to go to the newly converted Saul, he began to argue; Lord I have heard How much evil he has done to thy saints and here he has the  authority to bind all that call on thy name. Again Ananias heard the unmistakable command "Go"  Acts 9:10,13-15. God commissioned Ananias to be the first Christian brother to  minister to Saul. What if Ananias  had merely heard Gods Command but not obeyed? He would have missed  the oppturtunity to  welcome one of Gods most effective servants into the family of God. As with Anainas, how many times do we say here I am, Lord  only to balk when God gives us a specific job to do? Let us obey as well as hear  so we do not hinder Gods work.

    Private Confession

For I acknowledge my transgresions: and my sin is ever before me. psalm 51:3... As Christians have a daily devotional time with God, we read the Bible and pray, making our needs known to Him. However some of us may not be as disciplined about confessing our sins and asking the Lord to forgive and cleanse us.Confessing our sins to God requires that we first identify them to ourselves, and that can be painful. As we acknowledge our sins, not only does God forgive us, but He also helps us not to repeat those sins again and again. We grow spiritually through the process. In His model prayer Jesus went a step further. linking the importance of private confessions to God with forgiving others for the wrongs they do us.

    Living To Please God

But thou , O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteouness, godliness, faith, patience, meekness. 1Timothy 6:11....While we live on this earth, were commanded to live in a way that pleases our Heavenly Father. It isn't always easy. And sometimes, even when we believe we're doing the right thing , we learn later that we are not. I wonder  how many if they were accused of being  Christians that their lifes actions would give enough evidence to convict them.>>>>>> Have a blessed day in the Lord. The Best Guide

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will gude thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8... Have you ever been lost? Has there been a time when your road was uncertian? Maybe you made a wrong turn somewhere, and you arent sure where your headed. We've all been there. As Gods children we are guided by a reckoning systym that never fails the Holy Spirit. He sees what is ahead of us. however our biggest problems come when we tune Him out and go our own direction. If we follow Gods plan,as a reward for our obedience and faith, He will guide us both literally and spiritually.

    Be Strong And Courageous

I was reading Eves blog about  what is going on in her country, and this scripture from Joshua came to mind. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9.. Moses had died . There was no one like Moses, no one like Moses until the one greater than Moses came. In this frightening situation, the Lord spoke these words of comfort to Joshua: Be strong and of good courage..The Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest. We need to remember Gods words to Joshua when we are facing bad times. God alone can feel what we feel  because He is right there beside us. No one else can feel  our struggles as we feel them.
