WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?
The question that Jesus asked seemed very simple to Peter. He obviously knew who Jesus was. But Jesus wanted to hear it from Peter. He wanted to know what Peters idea of His identity was. That is the question that Jesus wants everyone to answer. Who do we say Jesus is? He is so many things to me that I can't even describe all of them. But the most important thing Jesus wants to know is this.....Matthew 16:16-17 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven. Thanks For the comments and concern. We will overcome through the Grace and Power of God.

TOTALLY IN CHARGE
One of the worst things that we could ever do in this time of troubles and anxiety is forget who is totally in charge. Jesus is still in charge, we may think that money and power are what it takes to rule. Not so. Money may rule on earth but guess what it is not worth a hill of salt in Heaven.Think about it if there is nothing to buy money is totally worthless. I wonder if all these money crazy investors and millionaires ever think what would happen if God decided to destroy everything that we are so desperately seeking to buy with money?..Hebrews 13:5- Be ye free from the love of money content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.

WALK THE WALK
While we make our way through this old sinful world there is something very very important that we as Christians must do. We must set an example for all the world to see. people should say I want what they have. Instead of maybe if that is the way Christians act I don't want any part of it. The way some Christians? act its hard to tell the difference between who is supposed to be walking with Jesus and who isn't. Ley us show the whole world who we are and what we stand for. Let us start by walking the walk, and talking the talk...Col 1:5-6 because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, 6 which is come unto you; even as it is also in all the world bearing fruit and increasing, as it doeth in you also, since the day ye heard and knew the grace of God in truth; [ASV]

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN?
Did you ever wonder what would happen if Jesus came to visit in your home with you? This is exactly what happened to Zac-che'-us. He was a sinner probably didn't think that Jesus would ever want to spend any time at all with him little on visit in his home. But Jesus saw Zacchaeus up in the sycomore tree and said come down I must stay with you for a while. Surely it was a life changing experience for Zacchaeus. It can be for anyone today that invites Jesus to visit with them.....Luke 19:1-7 And he entered and was passing through Jericho. 19:2 And behold, a man called by name Zacchaeus; and he was a chief publican, and he was rich. 19:3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the crowd, because he was little of stature. 19:4 And he ran on before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to-day I must abide at thy house. 19:6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 19:7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone in to lodge with a man that is a sinner.

Don't Give Up
We don't have to give up. When life throws us a curve and things don't go like we plan. Should we keep trying or just give up? I'm afraid so many gives up.This may be why so many people come to church for a period of time and just all of a sudden quit. Maybe we think when we get saved everything will be great. Life will be a bed of roses. But the truth is this is when a lot of our hard times come. Satan want's us back so he bombards us with everything possible to get us to give up.This is where we are failing as a church. We need to teach the young Christians what to expect. And give more guidance as how the life of a Christian really is. We can always overcome satan through our Lord Jesus Christ. Sometimes we may just need to know how. Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted

Raiment
Can you imagine how people would react to someone who lived in the forest or wilderness and came out dressed in camels hair and a leather girdle covering up his loins eating locust and honey. Wow we would probably think he was crazy, little on listen to him preach or believe what he said was true. But that is exactly what John the baptist did.. He preached the coming of Jesus. First in the wilderness of Judea then in and around Jerusalem all of Judea, and around the region of Jordan. Can you imagine what some of the Pastors and church members would say today. It would be like someone showing up to hold a revival that had been living in the forest and living on what food he found. dressed in maybe plain cloths or work cloths maybe a little on the ragged side. I just wonder how we would react?Mat 3:6-7-8-11 and they were baptized of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said unto them, Ye offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of repentance: 3:11 I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire:

THE LIGHT
Ever wonder what Jesus was referring to when he spoke of the light? If you have ever been inside a dark tunnel and looked at the entrance from way back in the tunnel, you will see a light commonly reffered to as the light at the end of the tunnel. This light will guide you out of the darkness and back to safety. When you see this light you know you are nearing the end of the tunnel. Soon all will be well. This is the light Jesus is. He is our light at the end of the tunnel. When we believe on Jesus we are no longer in darkness but in the light of our Saviour Jesus Christ...John 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

FREEDOM
We must always give thanks for the freedom God has allowed us to have in this great country of America.. And remember the ones who have fallen to protect us. Regardless of your view on the decisions that are made to go to war or not . We should always pray for our service men and women. So while we are celebrating this Independance day let us stop and give thanks to our Lord first and to our service men and women second. "In Remembrance'' Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Cease The Opportunity
I stopped to buy some liquid gold. You know the kind we are using to run our cars. There were two young men in the filling station they had run out of gas, and were trying to get the attendant to let them have a couple of dollars worth to get their car to where their sister worked and pick her up so she could give them money for gas. The attendand wouldn't let them have any because they had no money. I asked them how much they needed and pulled out a couple dollars.to which one said that is plenty and I will bring your money back in a few minutes. I said just keep it. When I started to leave He said thanks so much mister I appreciate it.Good ending Huh?Wrong I failed. Because I could have witnessed to those young men, but was in a hurry and let it slip by. We should always cease the opportunity to be a witness for Christ when ever are given the chance.... For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard. Acts 22:15
