Word Power
Word Power
Sadly our culture
today will allow lies and half truths to be facts of life. We sometimes
excuse our own exaggerations and sometimes misleading statements
thinking that they do no real harm; but they do raise a believability
issue with those who are watching and listening to us as we try to live
a witness for Christ. Though we may try to draw a distinction between
our words and our actions, both show the content of our hearts. How can
we be sure we are on the right path with our hearts and words? We find
the answer in Psalms 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth, and the
meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength
and my redeemer”
For by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thou words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:37

Truth Or Error
Truth Or Error Many people are searching for what is true and reliable, in the clamor
of conflicting voices in today’s world, some explore age old
philosophies, new age ideologies and world religions, and the occult.
Others adopt what they like from various sources and their own
concepts of truth. However there is one reliable source of truth with
which to measure the world’s ideas. Truth is found in the Creator God
of the universe who is the God of truth. [Ps.31:5]. The Bible is God’
revelation of Himself and His message to all humanity. “All scripture
is inspired by God”[2 Timothy3:16]. God chose human writers to to
record that His truth would endure to all generations.[PS.100:5]. We
can trust the unchanging Word of God…Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall
pass away: but my words shall not pass away. All shall perish , but
Gods Word will endure. And that is the truth….

Just A Bad Day
Just A Bad Day
I think we all just have a bad day once in a while. I just went through
a bad week. I stepped in a hole and sprained my ankle, tried to repair
a faucet in the bathroom ,and broke it. My son said I will cut the
grass I said fine. Guess what the lawnmower would not crank. My wife
called from work and had a flat. Ever have a day like that? Makes me a
little reluctant to try to do anything else. I know also that what ever
I do if I keep my faith that all will be well…Proverbs 4:23 Keep your
heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

The Marathon
The Marathon Life sometimes reminds me of running a marathon. Athletes, businessmen, housewives and students overcome heat exhaustion and pain to complete the course. They have endurance and keep on keeping on. There are many winners, not just the ones who cross the tape first. Participants have achieved the goal of training, discipline, and effort. The Christian life is similar to a marathon. Runners battle the frailties of their own bodies and difficulties of the course. Satan throws the obstacles of human weakness, the lures of temptation, grief, disappointment, and lifes painful experiences to sidetrack Christians of the course. Those that endure will receive a crown of life..James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

What Would You Do?
I have often thought of what would happen? if suddenly we had a visitor show up at our door. We here a knock and open the door and someone says, I have come to visit with you. After we let the visitor in and talk for a minute trying to figure out who he is. We suddenly realize our guest is none other than Jesus Christ. WOW! What would He find? would we be ashamed or proud to have Jesus in our home? This is something we really need to think about…What would you do?..Revelations 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Slow Down
Slow Down As I was running my Friday errands today, I have to shop for my mom who is disable., I also do some of our household shopping. Anyway I ran into some very interesting situations today. Seems like every time I stopped to look at an item someone would be waiting for me to move. Then I was almost ran over several times. But no one seemed to be in a big hurry so it all worked for the best. When we run into life’s problems that sometimes seem to get the best of us maybe if we would slow down and think things out and let God guide us. We might see that all would work for the best…Exodus 18:19 Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you. You be for the people toward God, that you may bring the causes to God.

WHAT I REMEMBER MOST
What I remember most about my mother.. She taught us to pray, and what good morales are. She would read the Bible to us and teach us about God and Jesus., and told us stories about people of the Bible and take us to church when she could. She was always there for us when we were sick and nurse us to health. She could always make things better. We never had very much in the way of riches, in fact we were pretty poor; but mother always could seem to make sure we got by. My mother is 85 and not in good health she walks with a stoop and hurts a lot., but she says she is just thankful to God to be here this mothers day and so am I. If your mother is not with you this year I hope you take comfort in knowing you can be together for a great mothers day some day in heaven….Luke 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother.

Mercy Of God
May 9, 2009 Mercy Of GodAll things whether on earth or in heaven belong to God, in all reality we don’t have anything. Our earthly possessions don’t mean a thing to God, its our spiritual readiness to serve Him that God is concerned about. We don’t need to worry so much about earthly things but concentrate on the heavenly things., Serve and give God the Praise and Glory He so richly deserves…[Romans 11: 33-36]..33 Oh the depth of riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. How unsearchable His judgements and untraceable His ways! 34 For who has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been His counselor? 35 Or who has first given to Him , and has to be repaid? 36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever amen.

His Cost Our Gain
Jesus paid a tremendous price to be with us. Certainly the cross was the most obvious cost. But I believe more is in view. We focus so much on the fact that Jesus died for us, we sometimes forget that he also lived for us and lives for us still. If Jesus had simply come as himself, and not as one of us, the Bible makes it quite clear that we could not have borne the sight of His presence, any more than Moses could have looked directly at the face Of God. Imagine what it would be like to be at the Fathers side one moment and struggling to sleep in a cattle trough the next. Imagine what it would be like to go from hearing the praise of angels to suffering the taunts of stupid men. The cost to Jesus is an indication of the incredible value of what He came to give us. And because no one will ever know what that cost Jesus, we can only begin to understand the incredible value his gift to us. The apostle Paul realized the indescribable gift of Immanuel in a passage many consider the hieght of his inspiration..Romans 8:31 What, then, can we say about all of this? If God is for us, who can be against us?..

Settle Our Differences
To seek peace and find a place of compromise when certain conflicts arise we often find very difficult.Yet Jesus recommended it as the best option, both to avoid legal penalties and to respond correctly. Wise Christians choose their battles carefully. Knowing that God is our just Judge and our defender, we can always trust in Him to protect our interests..Matthew 5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
