New Testament
Ever try to imagine what it was like in Old Testament times: trying to stay faithful to God but continuing to fall into sin; offering a sacrifice one day, only to offer another one the next day; wondering what lay beyond the grave because there was no assurance of a place being prepared for you. That all changed when Jesus came and established a new covenant.. The new covenant God made through Jesus was above and beyond the covenant God made with Moses at Sinai. The old covenant fell short in effectiveness because the people could never live up to it Moses was merely the representative of the people, but Jesus was the representative of almighty God. What the blood of animals could never accomplish, Jesus’ blood provided at the cross: redemption from sin, the promise of the Holy Spirit, and eternal inheritance. Hebrews 9:15, And for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that a death having taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they that have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Thankful Spirit
The magic of a thankful spirit is that it has the power to replace anger with love, resentment with happiness, fear with faith, worry with peace, the desire to dominate with the wish to play on a team, self preoccupation with concern for the needs of others, guilt with an open door to forgiveness, sexual impurity with honor and respect, jealousy with joy at an others success. All these things we can have when we have a thankful spirit. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone had a thankful spirit?…Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful…Colossians3:15…

Pathfinder
When we talk about the Christian Life, many respond this way, Christianity is for weak minded people or Christianity is a crutch. Others may have the concept that faith in Christ is nothing more than shackles intended to destroy their individuality and make them conform to a pre-established agenda. They respond in hostility by saying you are so legalistic! or quit trying to put me in a cage! or don’t judge me! Psalm 16:11 tells us something radically about God. He will show us the path of life. What marks this path? A God who wants to enslave you under th tyranny of his judgement? Hardly. Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy; In thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore

Apple Of His Eye
The phrase apple of his eye often refers to a person who’s especially cherished. Since the eye is one of the most sensitive parts of our body, even the smallest speck of dust can cause us lots of pain. The original meaning of apple in the passage from Zechariah 2:8. For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. Meaning gate or pupil , the part of the eye that lets light in. In old English writings the pupil was referred to as apple because of its similar shape. We are the apple or the pupil of Gods eye and just as we protect our eyes with sunglasses and protective lens God will protect us at all costs, just as He protected His chosen nation. We might say don’t mess with Gods children-He takes it like a sharp poke in the eye.

WISE UP
Making wise decisions. Some decisions we make are more important than others, but all need to be made with care.We can look in the Book of Proverbs for Four principles for wise decisions. 1- Place your trust completly in God [Proverbs 3:5,6] Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. The closer I am to God the more apt I am to make wise Choices. 2-Plan ahead and think things through.[Proverbs 6:6-8] Go to the ant, sluggard; consider her ways and be wise; 7 who, having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 provides her food in the summer and gathers her food in the harvest. 3-Gather all the facts. Proverbs 13:16, Every wise one deals with knowledge, but a fool lays open his folly. 4-Seek Godly counsel. Proverbs 12:15, The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to advice is wise. Proverbs 15:22, Without wisdom, purposes are defeated, but by many wise men they are established.
