Temptation
James gives us a good insight on understanding temptation, James 1:12-18 All temptation found in the Bible was not bad. The blessings available in temptation is found only by enduring it (12) It helps us to endure when we realize that our inner surging passions are not from God. they are rooted in our sin nature since God is never attracted by evil, any attraction we fell to wrong cannot, and does not come from Him there is a temptation process we feel an inclination to evil; we submit and engage in an act of sin, then a pattern of sin takes root in our lives. James wanted us to recognize that first inclination for what it is and resist acting on our passions {13-15} But through every temptation God gives his good gifts and He remains unshadowed, Nothing can cut off or interrupt, the light He gives (16-17) He has given us his life; He intends to see us ripen and mature to fruitfulness. Just as first fruits were early ripening grains and fruits brought to Gods temple as a special thanks offering. So our good works in spite of temptation honor him. Temptation-Several Hebrew and Greek words express the idea of trial or trust or enticement and thus of temptation

GOD HONORS THE FAITHFUL
Blessed is the servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Matthew 24:46....Jesus encouraged His listeners to spend the time waiting for His return by taking care of his people and serving Him here on earth. the emphasis is on being a faithful servant. A beatitude blessed is the servant, is included in Matthew 24:46. Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. The blessing comes from helping other people until Jesus comes again.

FREEDOM OF ETERNAL LIFE
As Christians, we posses the ultimate form of freedom--eternal life that includes freedom from slavery to sin as well as the freedom to become more like Jesus Christ. Eternal life frees us to live for God and to reflect His holiness. The freedom of eternal life means freedom from the wages of sin-- eternal death. It includes freedom from the fear of death. Christians have the assurance that we will live forever with God. eternal life means freedom without end as much as it means life without end..Romans 6:22-23 .But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23-For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

BEING FAIR WITH OTHERS
To do justice and judgement is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Proverbs 21:3...As I read this verse I thought just what does this mean? Just this. treat every one fair and with love not condemnation. sometimes as Gods children we try to sacrifice or to do more good things to gain acceptance in the eyes of our Father. We may not treat others in the way that God would desire, so we cover our actions by giving a bigger or easier sacrifice to Him. But the Lord knows the heart. A pure clean heart means more to Him than layers of good deeds.

Prayer Wagon
A poor man who lived in the country broke his leg in an accident. That meant he was laid up for a long while, unable to work. His family was large and needed help. Someone got up a prayer meeting at the church to pray for this family. While the people were praying and asking God to help the family, there was a loud knock on the door of their home. Someone tiptoed to the door, opened it, and there stood a young farm boy who said, “My dad could not attend the prayer meeting tonight, so he just sent his prayers in a wagon.” And there was the wagon loaded with meat, potatoes, apples, and other things from the farm…Deuteronomy 15:11 -For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

Don’t Kick Your Enemies
To feel good about our enemies shortcomings or misfortunes is natural. After all who can believe they mistreated us the way they did? Well, God can. Believing He is on the side of believers, can make all the difference about how we feel about our enemies. But we need to remember that while God is for us He does not want us to delight in our enemies misfortunes. Now we may be thinking I thought the Bible said to always rejoice! as hard as it may be in the human flesh this is a time when rejoicing is to be avoided. God who watches over all things , never forgets and he will remember an obedient heart when it has been wronged. Remember the battles between David and Saul, or Joseph and his brothers, Moses and Pharaoh. God always won. And He will win in our lives today. When we hold fast to Gods Character, and keep our feelings intact when we are tempted to smile at another’s fall..Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth. Proverbs 24:17…..

Promises
I recall as a child we would make a promise to someone but we sometimes would have our fingers crossed when we made it. Which meant we didn’t have to honor our promise. Of course this practice wasn’t taken to seriously by either party. In reality making a promise is a serious matter, keeping them even more so. unfortunately; today a promise doesn’t; mean anything to many people. An unwillingnes to make and keep promises has contributed to us being a litigious and untrusting society. Joshua 22:1-3 Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,2- And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:-3- Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the LORD your God.4 And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan. 5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

NEW BIRTH
In His conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus made it clear that we all experience physical birth that which is born of the flesh is flesh,” He also made it clear that we must receive Christ as our Savior to experience the new birth, or to be ” born again”and enter into “the kingdom of God” Have you received Christ as your savior by giving your life to Him and becoming a new person with fresh motives and goals? if not, let Jesus speak to you even as He did Nicodemus. Gods arms are always open regardless of a person’s age or spiritual condition…Jesus answered; Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5

BE STRONG
Strength can be demonstrated in many different ways. there is not only physical strength, but also emotional and spiritual strength. We may have one without the other two, or we could be fortunate enough to have strength in all three areas Growing in spiritual strength and maturity comes from our daily walk with God: regularly reading Gods word and prayer. Having a strong spiritual strength leads to a lifestyle of grace being extended to others. What a good way to begin the new year being strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. The rewards will not only be ours, but God will be glorified.Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:1

PRAISE GOD PERSISTENTLY
Gods Word tells us that there are rewards when we keep on praising Him. To focus on all He is, how He provides for us , and how He fulfills His promises helps us to maintain healthy states of mind and emotions. We need to remember that He is worthy of praise even if every thing is not as we think it should be.We need to be persistent in our praise of God, we need to make that praise a priority. We will be glad that we did. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORDS name is praised. Psalm 113:3....
