Jesus Provided
The new covenant God made through Jesus was above and beyond the
covenant He made with Moses at Sinai. The old covenant fell short in
effectiveness because the people could never live up to it. Moses was
merely the Representative of the people, but Jesus was the
Representative of Almighty God. What the blood animals could never
accomplish, Jesus’ blood provided at the cross; redemption from sin, the
promise of the Holy Spirit, and eternal life.
Heb 9:15 And for this
cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death,
for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first
testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal
inheritance.

God’s Help Line
I remember attending prayer meeting as a child and hearing those
old saints singing the spiritual, “Jesus is on the main line, tell Him
what you want”. I had no idea what those words meant then, but as an
adult, they have been a blessing in my life. Perhaps you are dealing
with temptation today and you feel helpless. Before you give in, give it
to the One who knows all about it and will offer comfort, not
condemnation.
Hebrews 2:18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. ESV

A New Covenant
God wants His people to serve and obey Him not from a sense of duty
but because of a deep desire to do so. The ancient law, “you must,” but
the new law, written within our hearts, causes us to ”want to” The
Prophet Jeremiah for saw this happier relationship in the days to come.
For us these days are here. Through God’s indwelling Spirit, His people
delight to do His will.
Jeremiah 31:33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the
house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “I will put My law
within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their
God, and they shall be My people.

Nourished by the Vine
It was not unusual for Jesus to use nature to teach truths as He
walked the countryside with His disciples. Perhaps on this night, as
they began there last walk together from the upper room to the garden of
Gethsemane, they passe a vineyard prune pile. Imagine Jesus pausing
briefly to emphasize how impossible it is to display the fruit of Christ
likeness unless one abides in remains vitally attached to and
desperately dependent on Jesus the vine. Do branches have to work hard
to stay attached to a vine? Not really! Likewise, abiding is a restful
reliance. We need not to be fretful to be fruitful only faithful to
abide in Him.
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains
in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing
without Me. HCSB

Words to Each Generation
Television, radio Internet all which are available on our personal
computers and cell phones Constantly bombarding our minds and hearts
with information, voices, and opinions. To whom do we choose to listen.
Thankfully, we can choose to filter out all this information through the
Word of God. Titus pulls no punches as he instructs each of us we are
to behave. He tells the men to be sound in faith and sober minded. He
instructs the women to be discreet, chaste, and loving. He also exhorts
the older men and women to teach the younger men and women.Guidelines
like these make it easier to filter the information we share.
Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: KJV

From Evil to Good
God gets blamed for many things in today’s world. Insurance
companies often won’t pay damages from so called acts of God. It isn’t
unusual to to hear someone ask questions like, ‘why did God cause her to
get cancer?’ or “Why would God cause innocent people to get hurt by a
drunk driver.” I believe God does not cause these things to happen. He
knows they will take place, and He allows them to happen because He has
given us the freedom to make choices.. We often make the wrong ones.
Sometimes we are the victims of bad choices by others. And often God
takes evil acts and brings good from them. Not all things are good. But
God’s Word tells us, ”All things work together for good to them that
love God, to them that are called according to his purpose. Romans
[8:28]
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto
good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Genesis 50:20 KJV

The Incarnate Christ
Fallen man could never fully realize God until He was seen in the
incarnate Christ. He revealed perfect man without sin and the love of
God for the sinner. In the wilderness temptations He was man’s
representative; in life He was mans example; on the cross He was man’s
Savior; in the resurrection was mans victory over sin and the grave.
“The Word became flesh,” is the answer to all the foolish quibbling
about the virgin birth and the super natural Christ. Begotten of the
Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, God took the form of man. He
accommodated Himself to human flesh that, in life and death the
resurrection, He might reveal the eternal God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full
of grace and truth. AKJV

Never Good Enough
Our Heavenly Father provides clear guidelines and loving
encouragement. He cheers us on, picks us up when we fall, and shares our
joy when we succeed. He will host a victory celebration at life’s end.
Because He knew we could never meet His requirements, He met them for us
through the gift of Jesus Christ.
For by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Galatians 2:16 b
