The Great Makeover
Makeover television shows are popular today. Whether remodeling a
house , rebuilding a car, losing weight, or plastic surgery people are
searching for something to transform their lives. The only makeover with
lasting results however, is the one provided by Christ’s death on the
cross. We are reborn, redeemed, and restored, and recreated at the
cross. Even if the old order of the way things used to be hangs around
for a while, we can experience a taste of heaven here on earth when we
live in the shadow of the cross. How about you? Are you living in the
shadow of the cross?
2 Corinthians 5:17- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation; old things have passed away, and look, new thing have come.

Blame Game
A key characteristic of people’ sinful nature is to admit
wrongdoing. God expects believers to resist the old nature and take
responsibility for our actions by seeking forgiveness. It was once said
that one of the main things that set generation apart was their
adherence to common values of duty, honor, love of family and country,
and above all, responsibility for oneself. No hint of blaming others for
what one has endured.
Genesis 3:12 Then the man replied, “The woman You gave to be with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate.”

Never Alone
Have you ever wondered where God was? Perhaps you’ve questioned His
presence in the middle of illness, bereavement, financial hardship, or
some other crisis. Have you found yourself asking,” How will I ever make
it through this?”Some one once said that omnipresent doesn’t mean God
is everywhere. It means everywhere is in the presence of God. Semantics I
know but a comforting thought nonetheless. Wherever you may be, or
whatever the circumstances you are in the sight of Almighty God who
loves and strengthens all who will believe.
But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the
proclamation might be fully made through me and all the Gentiles might
hear. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. 2 Timothy 4:17 [HCSB]

The Blessed Nation
Today our country is drifting on a tide of secular humanism that
has destroyed many powerful nations of the past. What can we do about
it? God would give us the same answer He once gave Israel.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I
hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; Psalm 33:12 a [AKJV]

The Great Gift
God does not pay us for the work we do. Many keep trying to earn
His love and mercy; but even our best efforts fall short of paying the
necessary price for our salvation. Yet we cannot accuse God of being
unfair to us, for not giving us what we deserve for all our efforts. If
we really received what we have earned from God we would be utterly
condemned.
Thanks be to God for His gift of eternal life. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. KJV

Thirsty?
Physical thirst is real, and the human body must have liquids to
survive. Spiritual thirst is also real, and there is only one who can
satisfy that thirst. John 4 presents the account of Jesus’ encounter
with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well. He told her, 13 Jesus answered
and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never
thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of
water springing up to eternal life.” [John 4:13-14] Yes we must
continually replenish our bodies with water, but once we receive Jesus
as Savior, He will supply us with spiritual water that is everlasting.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten
Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal
life.
