Who is First?

Jesus told His disciples that those who wish to be first of all heavenly matters must first become servants to all. This is opposed to everything inherent to to humankind. Although Jesus could have come to earth as a reigning king, He instead chose to come and serve. He is our model of true success . We to can experience true success by humbly serving God and others. Sitting down, He called the Twelve and said to them,

“If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” Mark 9:35 HCSB

How do we get to heaven? There are people who would say there are many different ways that lead to heaven. But Jesus said there is only one way and that is through Him. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”. John 14:6.  Of course there are many who will disagree with this. But if they do, they apparently do not believe the Bible. Where do you stand. Jesus said “you are either for me or against me.”Will you stand for with Him or against Him? It is going to be a decision you will have to make soon.

Matthew 7:13-14“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

God’s Word is Sure

Isn’t it wonderful to know God always keeps his promises? Throughout the Old Testament, God promised to, send a Great Shepherd. God kept his Word. Prophecy after prophecy was fulfilled those long ago days at Bethlehem and Calvary. Our Shepherd came, and God has promised He is coming again to take us to a place He has prepared.

July 4th

Our Heavenly Father is so wise. He will not over gift us, lest we become boastful, thinking ourselves to be providers. Bur He is generous. He even knows what we need before we ask! Our wealth is not determined by how much we have, but how little we need after depending on God.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and that he is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Luke 16:10.

 Stand fast therefore in the liberty where with Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1. Have a safe and blessed 4th of July.
